How do I get all music from my iPod classic to itunes on my computer? I was able to "authorize" the purchased music (40 songs) to download to laptop but I can't select my entire library (1500 songs) to download to laptop!

okay, I read a lot of questions in a similar format but nothing has helped. Here is my situation and what I have done.
I have an iPod Touch and my computer crashed, I had to restore my system completly. I thought I had backed up my iTunes but I did not back up all of my content. However, the music I did not back up are on my iPod. How can I put my music from my iPod to my iTunes WITHOUT erasing my music I have on my iPod? Some of the music on my iPod I do not have anymore so I can't erase my music I have on my iPod.
I tried to "authorized" my computer/iTunes to my iPod but a pop up came up and said my computer was "already authorized". I also tried to back up my iPod but that did not do anything. I also went under iTunes and checked marked "manually manage music" but nothing works.
What can I do?

How do I get the music from my ipod to my itunes library when I downloaded them from an older computer from a cd?

A little while ago my old computer that had all my itunes information crashed and I had to get a new computer. I just downloaded itunes to my current computer and I can't figure out how to sync the music from my ipod to my library. When I click sync it only downloads the songs that I bought on itunes and not the ones that were originally from a CD. And when I click "sync music" it pops up a notification that music from my previous library will be removed and my ipod will be synced to my current library with half of my music missing just because I bought them from a CD. So my main question is, how do I get all the songs from my ipod to sync to my computer even though some of it wasn't purchased through itunes?

For music downloaded from iTunes you should be able to copy it over via File > Devices > Transfer Purchases
For music from CDs you will need a third-party program on your computer to copy them off - there are some listed half-way down this page which should be able to copy them back : https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-3991

My old computer crashed and I was unable to recover my music from it. I do not have a back up of m itunes librarymeither. However, I have all my music on my IPod Touch. I was wondering if anyone could help me. I have an iPod nano and I was trying to sync my music from my iPod to my laptop on iTunes and every time I would hit sync it would say it is going to replace all the music on my iPod with my music on my laptop. Is there ANY way possible that i can just put the music from my iPod to my laptop without it deleting and replacing the music I have on my iPod already?

Your i-device was not designed for unique storage of your media. It is not a backup device and media transfer is designed for you maintaining a master copy of your media on a computer which is itself properly backed up against loss. Syncing is one way, computer to device, updating the device content to the content on the computer, not updating or restoring content on a computer. The exception is purchased content.

If you have iTunes 11 turn on the Sidebar. Go to iTunes>View and click on Show Sidebar. You can also do a Crtl+S to show the sidebar. The right click on the iPod under Devices in iTunes and select transfer purchases.
