How do I get an additional iCloud email account?

I've had a @me.com email account for years. But I need another email account for my business and I want it to be an @icloud.com account. Can this be done?

(You may find that you can't create an alias just at the moment while they are rolling out the @icloud.com addresses to all accounts).
Or you could create a new iCloud account - you will need to create a new Apple ID using a different email address from the on you used to create your present one. You can sign into System Preferences>Mail, contacts and Calendars with this and run it in addition to the existing one.

The password for your iCloud email is the same as the password where you sing into System Preferences>iCloud or http://icloud.com - can you sign in in the latter? If so and your email doesn't work you should sign out in System Preferences>iCloud and sign back in again, and check Mail and any other data tyupes you want to sync. You data will disappear from your Mac when you do this but re-appear when you sign back in again.
If you can't sign in at http://icloud.com you should go to http://appleid.apple.com and click 'Reset password' - sign in with your iCloud login and follow the instructions.

Well the Mac is way too old, but rhis situation may not be as bad as it appears. Take a look at these kb articles.
1. Did they enter an email address to use for an Apple ID? If they didn't, then they can create one where I stated in the other post - Settings>iTunes and App Store. They can create the ID in there.
If they want to use a credit card with their Apple ID. See this.

if they don't want to use a credit card, then they can create the ID this way.

You can't do that within your iCloud Mail settings, you'd need to forward the mail from the individual 3rd party accounts.

How to I get my Mac's email accounts onto my iPad?

Prior to Mac OS 10.9 I could just sync all of my POP email accounts to my iOS device. That feature in iTunes is now gone, and according to Apple's web page the email accounts just sync over iCloud. But this is not happening for me. My address book and calendar events are all synced, but my iPad is showing no email accounts (other than iCloud). I cannot find any way to copy my account to the iPad from the Mac.
I tried restoring from a backup of my iPhone, but even that didn't restore the email accounts. It restored everything but that. Do I really have to enter all of my email account details manually on the iPad to reconfigure my mail there?

Try trash the com.apple.iPhoto.plist file from the HD/Users/ Your Name / library / preferences folder.
(On 10.7 or later: Hold the option (or alt) key while clicking on the Go menu in Finder to access the User Library)
(Remember you'll need to reset your User options afterwards. These include minor settings like the window colour and so on. Note: If you've moved your library you'll need to point iPhoto at it again.)
What's the plist file?
For new users: Every application on your Mac has an accompanying plist file. It records certain User choices. For instance, in your favourite Word Processor it remembers your choice of Default Font, on your Web Browser is remembers things like your choice of Home Page. It even recalls what windows you had open last if your app allows you to pick up from where you left off last. The iPhoto plist file remembers things like the location of the Library, your choice of background colour, whether you are running a Referenced or Managed Library, what preferences you have for autosplitting events and so on. Trashing the plist file forces the app to generate a new one on the next launch, and this restores things to the Factory Defaults. Hence, if you've changed any of these things you'll need to reset them. If you haven't, then no bother. Trashing the plist file is Mac troubleshooting 101.

If the email address for the Apple ID you are trying to use is already verified, you won't be able to resend a verification email. Once it's verified no verification email will be generated. Why iCloud is telling you it isn't when your Apple ID is telling you that it is I can't tell you. I would try contacting iTunes store support here: http://www.apple.com/emea/support/itunes/contact.html, selecting the topic Account & Billing to see if they can help you. They normally only deal with iTunes store issues but they do deal with Apple ID issues all the time. I'm only suggesting this because contact them is free and contacting iCloud support involves a charge (unless you paid for AppleCare or are still within your 90-day free support period).

I hope there is a fairly easy solution to this because I'm not good with computers. I cannot receive any emails on my .mac.com account as the reason states "reason for failure 550.5.1.1 unknown or illegal alias". Also it does not recognize my password.
