How do I get back my lost contacts in E51

Question

It was the first time I tried out connecting my Nokia E51 to the PC.I was loading the CD and without reading much started downloading the new firmware. There was a warning about contents being lost some how i was so excited had started saying ok to the promts.
I had not backed up anything from the phone.
Nor have i have used the PC suite earlier.
Now with the firm ware loaded. The phone has been wipped out including SIM contacts. What was in memory card like pictures and video have survived.
All voice recording pics in gallery,sms and contacts have been lost
Is there anyway of getting back the contacts as they have been accumalated over a period of 20 long years.
I tried what little i knew by putting Sim on a diff nokia phone but result seems to be same
I downloaded NOKI trial version but looks it can back up only from PC and not from old data of phone
Can some one help me get back my contacts pl

If you didn't save the contacts separately, didn't back them up and didn't synchronize them with your PC or a network service, and don't have copies on the SIM card either, then I'm afraid they're gone and there's no magic that can get them back, I'm sorry to say.
And I know it is no consolation to you now, but many of the newer phones (newer models than your E51) now support user data preservation over a firmware update. With those models this kind of mistake does not happen.
As you say you had 20 years worth of contacts on your phone. Have you saved any of your earlier phones (e.g., if you still have an old phone before your E51, maybe you still have most of the contacts on an old phone lying in your desk drawer or somewhere).
