How do I get Firefox to automatically order a new bookmark ?

When I add a new bookmark it is put by Firefox at the very far end of my bookmark list. I have a VERY long list... :) It´s a nuisance, it takes a lot of time and effort to drag my added bookmark to its proper place i.e. in an alphabetic order.
Is Firefox capable of ordering bookmarks AUTOMATICALLY? What is the procedure for that?
Kind Regards,

For searches from the Search Bar, when you use the Enter key.
Type '''about:config''' in the URL bar and hit Enter. <br />
''If you see the warning, you can confirm that you want to access that page.''
    Pref = '''browser.search.openintab''' = double-click to toggle to '''true'''

  • How do I get Firefox to open in a new tab (instead of a new window) when I click on one of my buttons in my toolbar?

When I click on one of my buttons in the toolbar, Firefox opens that button in a new window. I would like to be able to click on one of my buttons and Firefox open it in a new tab instead.

    Every time Firefox opened

Right click the FireFox button in your toolbar and look in the properties- middle tab...make sure that it only has "C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe" with no other link added to the end. I had a similar problem this morning and found a website had attached it's link to the end so it would always pop up first and would only open a new tab.
    Hope that fixed it.

  • I'm on a school network where I'm incapable of update flash, how to I get Firefox to automatically play flash content without updating?

Flash player is automatically block on sites like Youtube, and I have to click to play videos. While working at school, this is profoundly irritating, and I have no permissions to update flash shockwave. How do I disable the "click to play" so that I can automatically listen to youtube playlists, etc.
Updating Flash is NOT an option.

I don't know if you can bypass that old version warning; there might be a way.
But I want to know why your Firefox is reporting itself as version 20. Is that also because you are not allowed to update Firefox either? Maybe you can pass along to your administration that Firefox 20 is not secure; Mozilla discloses [https://www.mozilla.org/security/known-vulnerabilities/firefox.html security flaws] after each new release.

  • How do I get Firefox to automatically fill in personal details on forms?

In Google Chrome for instance, it will automatically fill in personal details such as name, address, tel and mobile numbers etc.
Does Firefox do this, and if so how?

Use form fill in Firefox or a form fill extension.

  • How can I get Firefox to automatically recognize and connect a hyperlink in my messages?

When I used Internet Explorer (previously), it automatically identified web sites and email addresses that I entered in my outgoing messages and made them "live." Does Firefox have that capability? If so, how do I activate it?

Thank you. I do know about the button, and have used it. But Internet Explorer created the links automatically - I guess it "recognized" the configuration (perhaps the "www."?) and entered the link as soon as a space was placed after the URL. I was hoping Firefox could do the same thing, but apparently not. If anyone else has further ideas, I'd still like to hear if an automatic hyperlink creation is possible.

    Hello jamdaley,
Here’s how to set your home page in three easy steps.
    1. Open the website you want to set as your home page.
    2. Click the icon to the left of the web address, drag it to the Home button, and release.
    3. Click Yes to set this as your home page.

  • How do I get Firefox to automatically size web pages?

Seems to me one of the features of html is that it's the browser's job to resize the page to the current window, if possible. New Win8.1 machine, newly installed Firefox, doesn't seem to do that (consistently, if at all.) Any option to do this?

O.P.: I should point out there's a BIG difference between "zooming" to fit, and "sizing" to fit. A browser can and should adjust spacing between elements, and even re-arrange elements, to get the page to fit, if possible. Sometimes it's not possible, because the page has specified the formatting. In my case, it seems like FF '''never''' gets it right. Even this very page has the scroll bar at the bottom, which should be completely unnecessary.

  • When I open Firefox, it is not automatically opening a network connection. I have to manually open the network connection before browsing. How do I get Firefox to automatically open the connection?

I have to click on the network connections icon and ask it to refresh before Firefox makes the connection. This never happened with Explorer and I don't remember it happening the first few months with Firefox. Did I foul up my settings somehow? Or add plug-in or extension that is causing this?
