How do I get home video clips from iMovie Mac to iMovie iPad?  Surely there is some degree of cross-compatibility?  I have a load of clips in iMovie on my MBP that I wanna download to my iPad2 so that I can edit movies on the move.  Any ideas?  (The clips are in a .mov format, they have been imported / converted into this format in iMovie, original files were from a JVC camcorder in some other strange format.)

I copied the iTunes file from the external drive and it's in both places.  I thought all I would need is the iTunes program (which I downloaded to new computer) and my iTunes library file.  There must be something else that's missing.  My iTunes library looks the same on the new computer as it does when I open it on the external drive.  If I click on an iTunes library song from my new computer, it will only play if I have the external drive plugged in.
My back-up drive is a mess.  I have multiple copies of music, video, photo, and document files and I don't know how that happened. ={  Obviously, I don't know how to back up stuff properly and there are back-up files extending over a 6- to 8-year period.  I think all I did was just drag and drop the main folders from the back-up drive to the same main folders on the C: drive.  Also (and I'm kind of fuzzy on this) Windows used to automatically save music files in a folder within my document files (which makes no sense to me).  As my Jewish friends would say, "Oy Vey!"

I have a Mac connected to the internet through a modem. However, i also want my iPad to share this connection through the usb cable. Is this possible? If not, is there any other way i can get my iPad to share the internet connection from my Mac?

It look like you can turn your mac into a hotspot and connect your ipad to it via wifi.

  • How do I get my photo's from my mac to my ipad.

I just got a new Ipad for Christmas.  Very cool, but I am having a difficult time getting my data that is on my Mac (which doesn't have Icloud) to the ipad.  If I buy Iphoto - will I be able to log in to my macs Iphoto and and drag and drop the pictures into my IPAD when it is synced to the MAC?  Any suggestions would be appreciated.

    You sync them via itunes.

Open the Sharing pane in System Preferences. If the Computer Name is not set, enter a name. You may first have to click the lock icon in the lower left corner and authenticate to unlock the settings.

  • How Do I Get Home Videos into iTunes?

I have 6 home videos that I want to put into iTunes....both the iTunes library on the hard drive and the iTunes app.  I had them in there but for some reason they got mixed up and I deleted them. I have the copies so how do I get them into the iTunes library on my hard drive and into the itunes app so I can look at them.
It is such a mess and I'm trying to make my question as simple as possible.  Here is one thing that happens...when  I tried to put the videos into iTunes they went into a folder called Home Videos.  But there is no folder on iTunes called Home Videos....it is called Movies which is where the videos were before.  There is no place for me to access a folder called Home Videos because there isn't one.  And, If I access the old Movie Folder it is empty.  The Movie folder is permanent....put there by iTunes so I can't delete it and add add one called Home Videos.
Can anyone straighten out this mess?  The only good news is that I still have copies of the home videos...they were not deleted.

Drag them into the library folder.

  • How do I get component video (YPbPr) from my iMac mini display port?

I have a converter cable with dini DP on one end and HDMI on the other, this goes into an HDIM conveter box that converts HDMI to Component.  THe TV does not recogize the signal as compatable.

First, what you said is contradictory. You say "can't get a video signal", then say"the Mac wallpaper is broadcast, the mouse pointer is visible". "No video signal" means an absolutely black, blank screen. It sounds like you have plenty of signal.
I am supposing what you are seeing is actually a blank desktop, which is to be expected if your settings are such that you are extending the desktop, instead of mirroring it.
Within the preference panes is a setting that allows you to change this. Open System Preferences, click Displays, and then click Arrangement. You will see that you are extending the desktop. Change that setting.

i have a numbers spreadsheet on my macbook and the numbers app on my iphone. How do i get the spreadsheet from the mac onto the app on the phone so it updates through icloud

    Not according to Apple.
From the document you referred to:
iCloud makes it easy to move Pages, Keynote, and Numbers documents between your computer and your iOS devices. Just sign in to icloud.com/iwork in any modern web browser, and all your iWork for iOS documents will be there — complete with your most recent edits.
Also, according to Ted Landau (emphasis mine):
To convert an iOS-formatted iWork document to a Mac-compatible format and transfer it from iCloud to your Mac, you must download the file from the iCloud website via a web browser.
Which makes the syncing hack he describes in the rest of the article, which I do not recommend, far less useful.

  • Received new mac how do you get all your information from old mac?

Received a new mac for my daughter.  How do you get all the information from old mac?

Your best bet, by far, is to use Setup Assistant when your shiny new Mac first starts up (not Migration Assistant later).

  • How do I get a video back from my iPhone?

I had a video on iTunes that I synced with my iPhone (.m4v). Accidentally I deleted it, so iTunes can't find it. It is still on the iPhone, though.
How do I retrieve it back to my mac??

One thing that might help out.
If the video was purchased from the itunes store, then you can pull it back into itunes.
To do this, connect the iphone and at the top of itunes, click on file and choose transfer purchases from ...
    Hope this helps.

  • How do I get Music Video's to play in iTunes on iPad Mini with Shuffle option on Playlists (it's only playing the music not video's)?

Hi. I have got Music Video's on iPad Mini on a Playlist on iTunes. When I use 'shuffle' option the audio of the track is heard but no video is played (only a 'still' from the video). When using the Video option on the desktop, plays videos but does not allow you to 'playlist' them or shuffle them. I can shuffle Music Video playlist on iPhone and on PC. So why not on iPad Mini. Can someone help? Thanks

There does not appear to ba a facilty for this on the iPad. However there are a number of apps that will allow you to create and play video playlists. Try VP Lite which is free.

I have adware on my Mac Laptop that has OS 10.6.8 operating system.
    AdMedic needs 10.7 or later.

Unfortunately you need OS X 10.7 (Lion) or above to use AdMedic or it's successor today AdwareMedic.  Best bet today for Snow Leopard users would be to use the older Adware Removal Tool from the same author, but he's not planning to update it in the future.

  • How do I get my iMessages sent from my mac received to my mac only, not my phone?

I'm messaging my friend from imessage on my macbook, but instead of getting her replies to my macbook, they are sent to my phone. I've already tried checking and unchecking my phone number, but it doesn't seem to help. Is there a way I can disconnect my imessages on my macbook from my imessages on my phone? I want my imessages from my macbook only sent to my macbook. How can i keep my replies from my imessage on my macbook, on my macbook?

Uncheck your phone number on the computer, then exit messages and re-open.
Uncheck everything except your phone number on your phone, restart the phone.

  • Hello everybody, I have a mac book pro 13" my question is, how do I get rid of cookies from my Mac book pro  from Warne.

    Hello Evetyubody...
My name is Warne how are you all doing...
    My question is...
I was bought this great computer a Mac Book Pro 13" by my sister....
I know there are cookies from most if not all web sites, how do I go about getting rid of them if they get in to my Mac.
    Any help is good.
    Thanks Much.
    Warne  New Apple User.

It depends on which browser you're using to surf the web.
If you're using Safari then open up safari, select "Safari" from the menu bar (hint: Next to the apple logo on top left corner of the screen) and go to preferences.
Then go to the security tab - show cookies - remove all.
You can get rid of individual cookies as well if you want to specifically delete a particular one.
You can get rid of all the browsing history and all the temporary data by selecting safari from the menu bar, select reset safari, make sure all options are selected and hit OK.
    You're good to go!
