How do i get iPhoto back after deleting

bought a imac and had pre loaded ilife apps ready to be downloaded in purchased tab and accidently deleted iphoto and imovie. how do i get them back?

If I'm following correctly it sounds like you may have clicked on the 'x' when viewing your purchases. This, as you've discovered, hides them. To make them visible again, log in to your Mac App Store Account and select 'your account'  and you should see that you have some hidden articles. In the image the arrow shows what you need to click on - it should be obvious from there.

Deleting an email account for the the mail app will not have any effect on ther AppleId and its use for other services. You need to delete the old ID and set up the new one for other services suxch as FaceTime, App store, etc.
It sounds like you are trying to set up a new ID rather that just adding your old one back in. Or maybe I'm missing something.

  • How do i get iphoto back after it has been deleted

my mac deleted my iphoto app and now i cant seem to get it back and i dont have the system start up discs anymore so how can i get iphoto back?

Phone Apple Support and order replacement disks, or restore it from backup, or if your computer supports it, upgrade the OS and buy iPhoto from the Mac App Store.

  • How do I get iphoto back after Yosemite 10.10.3

I have just added the Yosemite 10.10.3 security update to my macbook pro and found that iPhoto has been replaced by a piece of software called Photos.
The replacement application was not wanted and has been forced onto my machine without asking.
Question is.... How do I get my original iPhoto back and the photographs without resorting to a full restore?
    Any ideas..... please.....
    Andy

Yes as you already now know iPhoto can still be found in applications,,, HOWEVER, be warned that apple just informed me yesterday that it will eventually disappear  and you will need to have all of your iPhoto albums transferred from iPhoto to new Photos pgm just to be prepared for eventual shelving of iPhoto,
I found this out because immediately after updating to os x 10.10.3 and as well after updating to the new photos pgm, my iMac all of a sudden no longer shows my camera under Devices in the Finder, and worst of all would NO longer recognize .jpg downloads from my camera (specifically Canon Powershot G6), I have spent 2-3 hours per day for last 2 days on phone with apple techs and they made me do a sh L t load of tests, and file caches adjustments etc… etc…, including a recovery re-install of these recent updates, but it still does not work, they have decided that the issue is definately not a problem with my camera as I was able to download the pics to an old laptop successfully, and then transfer them to a thumb drive and then was able to successfully transfer the .jpg's to my iMac using the thumb drive,(a long and painful process), plus all jpg's that were already in my iMac are still recognized and usable, it's when i try to download jpg pictures from a camera to either of the following pgm's; "image capture", "iPhoto", and even new "Photos" pgm, computer does not recognize .jpg's and gives error (-9937).
    they said that problem is with one of 3 issues;
    1) new OS X 10.10.3
    2) Application specific ("Image capture", "iPhoto" or "Photos") - not likely that all 3 now have issues at same time.
    3) Compatibility issue (specifically that the new OS system is no longer compatible with my specific camera)
They refused to pick one, and the specific tech dept. "photos team, image capture team" would not speak with me and simply told this tech guy to tell me to do a recovery re-install of these new updates and OS, which did not work.
BTW, this tech guy i am talking with is a senior tech who claims he does not know everything about image capture issues. he is supposed to call me back today (Day 3) (LOL are we having Fun yet??? LOLL) to find out if re-install worked,,, IT DID NOT!
MOST IMPORTANT PART OF STORY;;; I have found online that jpg downloads not being recognized occurring immediately after an OS update/upgrade go back as far as 2009/2010. on a hit and miss occurrence.
I am going to take a guess and say that there is a bug in new OS or somehow the proper Drivers incl. in update for my camera have a bug. Canon web site says drivers are not available on their site for OS X 10.10.3 and are included in iMac OS software. Also Canon's Image browser software is no longer available for OS X 10.8 or higher.
They said senior tech who is calling me back today says if recovery re-install of updates do not work(it did not) he would take some pertinent info from my computer or on their end, (he was vague about that) and report it to appropriate dept. to see if they can get back to me shortly with a fix, (not holding my breath), or a future Bug fix/OS Update which he said could take 3-6 months.
They also recommend that I buy a memory card reader and every time I wish to transfer pictures from my camera to my computer, that i should remove the compact flash card from camera and put into memory card reader and transfer it to my iMac that way (for me thats 2-4 times per day, as I sell on eBay, Kijiji and Craig's List.), No more simply plugging my camera into my iMac using USB.

  • HT4711 how do I get iPhoto back after reinstalling mac os x lion?

I lost Iphoto app after I reinstalled  mac os x lion, and cant get it back.....any suggestions?

iPhoto is not part of the OS X installation. It's a separate app.
Log in to the App Store and download it again - it doesn’t require a purchase.

  • How can I get iPhoto back after clean install mac os x 10.8

    Hi All,
I have some problem after I upgrade mac from 10.7 to 10.8 with clean install I can't find it in app purchased from iTune.
Could you please advise me how to fix this problem.
    Thanks,

Most likely the original source is the App store (choice 2 in my answer) for this system. Look under the purchased tab in the app store while you are logged in under the Apple ID you regisitered the computer with

  • TS4036 I can not find my photos or contacts.  Help how do I get them back after a icloud back-up was done due to needed a new phone..

I cannot find my photos or contacts.  Help how do I get them back after a iclound backup was done due to needed to get a new iphone.  HELP

I believe I had leopard and I was having issues getting errors of system not being supported. I contacted Apple and was advised I needed to upgrade to snow leopard. My laptop is from 2009 and I haven't done anything to it till now. The apple rep also stated I should do a fresh install when putting snow leopard on so my laptop would run faster. Apple rep told me to get a external hard drive to put my info on it so the fresh install would reset everything to like it was brand new. I had someone help me with getting everything on the EHD.. doing the right format and such and then once that was done I put in the CD for snow leopard and hit install. Which brings me to now, with everything but my pictures. I have the EHD plugged in... now what? What do I do? I have looked in the EHD in iphoto and it was all standard images *not my pictures but images of a check mark or an arrow again not actual pictures. I don't see a folder pictures and i looked for images and found nothing. I have Applications, Included Free Designs, Library, System, User Guides and Information and Users, those are my options and non of those have a "pictures"
    I have iPhoto '09 version 8.1.2 & Mac OS X version 10.6.3

  • My iPhotos have disappeared completely.   How do I get iPhoto back?

My iPhotos have disappeared completely.   How do I get iPhoto back?

    1. Your Library should be in the Pictures Folder, not the Applications folder. Are you sure that you're not looking at the Application?
    2. If it is in the wring folder, move it to the Pictures folder. That's inly in the case of the Library not the application.
    3.
    Couple of things to try:
Restart your mac and try launch iPhoto again.
    If that fails:
Go to your Pictures Folder and find the iPhoto Library there. Right (or Control-) Click on the icon and select 'Show Package Contents'. A finder window will open with the Library exposed.
Look there for a file called ‘iPhoto’Lock.data or similar. Drag it to the Desktop. Make no other changes. Start iPhoto. Does that help?
If not: Where is your iPhoto Library stored? If it's on an External Disk, what format is that?

  • How do i get Iphoto back?

I deleted Iphoto and now i have no idea how to get it back.
I recently changed apple ids and deleted my old one which i first used on my macbook pro about 3 months ago. Now i have i have accidently deleted iphoto and whenever i go to the app store to reinstall it i get an accept button instead of a buy/purchase button and then this error message once i click on the accept button:
"These apps were already assigned to another Apple ID, and they will be available in that Apple ID's Purchases list. If you don't have access to that Apple ID and want to receive future updates, you will need to purchase the applications."
So i dont have the apple ID they were first assigned too and i dont want to purchase this application. So i was wondering if there is any way to reinstall it or recover it because my macbook pro came with iphoto already installed.

iPhoto is part of iLife, not OS X. You'll need to either reinstall iLife from your original disks (not sure what version you have or if it will even work with Leopard) or get iLife '08 (probably the most straightforward way to get iPhoto back.)

  • How can i get iPhoto back if it was a standard app on purchase?

i had iphoto when i purchased my macbook pro, it became corrupt and i had to delete it, how do i get it back?
some have mentioned via updates and i know i have updated the software but now i cant find anything related to iPhoto in my macbook.
as i didnt purchase the app from the app store i cant reinstall without another purchase.
surly my ID should have an update somewhere where it can varify i used iphoto?
    Please Help
    Thanks

iLife apps come with your system. If your Mac shipped with any system prior to Lion, it should be on your install disks that shipped with your Mac.
You can use Pacifist to extract and install just that app.
If you lost the disks, that shipped with your Mac call Apple for replacement, give them your serial number and they will send them for a nominal fee.

  • Photos *****. How can I get iPhoto back

Photos lacks many of the features of iPhoto that I used all the time. How can I get it back?

It didn't go away.  Look in your Applications folder.
If you didn't update it to the Yosemite version, see this tip: Get iPhoto 9.6.1 if you didn't update before OS X 10.10.3
