To be absolutely honest, I don't really understand what this box is for, so I shall just use it to repeat and expand on my question. (I have already sent a "Feedback" comment on the same topic).
How can I get iTunes to display the tracks from a CD in their original (album) order?
It seems to me that there is something very basic wrong with the way iTunes handles CD Tracks.
Professionally produced CD tracks are seldom if ever in a randomised order. Why then does iTunes seem unable to display the tracks in the order they appear on the original CD source - whether from a personally owned CD or from a download from the iTunes Store?
Some music demands a specific, non-alphabetic sequence in order to make sense. Why does it seem that iTunes only offers Alphabetic, or reverse alphabetic order - both of which make a nonsense of the original, often intended order of tracks?
Why not replace the so-called "cover-art" in the bottom left hand corner if the iTunes window - which, while it may look attractive to some, gives the barest of information concerning the original disc, with a list of the original CD tracks in their original order, so that the user can easily reestablish the order in which they should be played.
As I would expect legibility might be a problem with doing this, why could not the original contents, (in their original order), at least, be displayed when the "cover art" is double clicked-on - the result of which at present gives me an enlarged version of the "Cover Art". While on the subject of the contents of the source disc, what about all the album notes which someone takes trouble to write in order to increase the appreciation of the music on the CD and the listener's general background knowledge of the artists involved. Such notes, it seems to me, have considerable intrinsic value in their own account. I would, I think, normally be prepared to buy such "Sleeve notes" - so long as a "taster" was supplied (as it is for the music) - for something like the cost of a single 'Tune" on iTunes.
These two aspects let Apple iTunes down enormously, in my opinion. I think that by chopping even quite protracted sequences of music up into bits does no one any favours - except perhaps Apple's already quite substantial bank balance. People have to be aware that two and a half, to three and a half minutes is a very short time to develop a piece of worthwhile music, and that there are many, many composers, not all of whom are alive today who have written music that huge masses of mankind value for the enrichment of their lives and the human condition in general.
Please make the viewing of iTunes tracks in their correct order by default possible. By all means have the alphabetical variations available as offering a different approach to the music, but not the sole approach to it - PLEASE.

Thanks for the support. I am utterly amazed that after all the hype about how good iTunes is that it cannot play a downloaded CD in the correct order, and that what that order should be is not available directly from within one's own iTunes installation. (I know that one can go back to the iTunes Store to check what the order should be, but having downloaded the tracks surely iTunes is clever enough to retrieve this important information.
My iTunes to differ from yours in that I have also noticed that it seems unable to download copies of my "talking books" in the correct order either. But in my case it downloads them - from a CD - in order, but with the first track downloaded first - so that it appears at the bottom of the column of tracks so that it would get played last! (At least this is, while being inexplicable, a relatively "logical" bit of blundering and because of this is relatively easy to put right!).
I like many genres of music, some of which are not really programmed except perhaps by the artist performing them. I know that Frank Sinatra was very careful to programme his album songs to obtain a particular effect and in relation to the keys of the music. iTunes presumes to know better.
Film scores may be totally randomly put together, in some cases, but in others the order is vital to one's appreciation of the music as a whole and how it relates to the plot of the film.
In symphonic music most works are divided into sections and are conceived by the composer that way. Some individual sections may gain a life of their own if played separately, but they are never complete in the sense that the composer envisaged them without being placed in their proper context.
Opera and probably most choral music too, is similar except that the words may well become meaningless if the order is changed at the whim of a piece of ill-written computer code, while ballet music has to be heard totally within its sequential context or it becomes meaningless.
Finally, I would venture that iTunes, by jumbling up the order of the tracks as recorded on a CD, does an immense disservice, not only to the music on a particular CD, but to music in general, by expressing everything in terms of "Songs" - which it seems to interpret as stand-alone items of between 2 and 4 minutes whatever the genre. Even the way the iTunes publicity speaks of how many "songs" it can store instead of how many minutes or hours of recorded sound. This has to be another brick in the wall of "dumming-down" of people's expectations, and the shortening of their attention spans.
I don't know about anyone else, but I feel betrayed by Apple over this. Perhaps the look, feel and general presentation of an item are not the most desirable features of a consumer product. Maybe it should be judged more on it fitness for the purpose for which it was sold. There is one other possibility - that Apple are trying to redefine "Music" - and that everything that lasts longer than about 3.5 minutes or is in the form of what could for want of a better term be called symphonic in the broadest sense is something else - not "Music" within Apple's new definition, at all!
Well that's off my chest! now I can get down to creating some sort of order in my iTunes Libraries, knowing that I have to reconsult all the sources in order to confirm the source playing order.

I just updated Firefox but can't get it to display the message when a pop-up is blocked. Most times I want them blocked but sometimes I need them enabled.
You can see a pop-up block icon in the right corner of the Status Bar if you have chosen to hide the information bar at the top.
You can left-click that pop-up block icon on the Status Bar and remove the check mark from "Don't show info message when pop-ups are blocked"
You can look at these prefs on the '''about:config''' page and reset them via the right-click context menu:

How do I get Safari to display the URL?
I was using Safari 5.1.3 and, for some reason, the URL no longer shows in the address bar. How do I get the URL/address to show in the address bar?
I think Apple's strategy is clear: eventually the address bar will disappear and you'll just use links or bookmarks. The address bar will be entirely replaced by a search field, you'll no more type in a URL into Safari than type a directory path into the Finder.
And at that point they can make merge Safari and iTunes. Takes me back to eWorld, where Apple tried to control your entire WWW experience (as did AOL and Microsoft at the time). -

I understand that people want to check the quality of the image when they open it, but I hate that I'm looking at the top left of every image when I open it. It's not maximizing the size of the image based on my screen size. I hate having to hit apple-0 every time I open a file. Where's the preference to change this??!

How do you get PDFs to display the same fonts everywhere?
I have Adobe Acrobat 7 and I'm trying to convert a Word document into a PDF. It is set to embed fonts. The whole point of putting it into a PDF is so we can mail it around and it will look the same to everyone. However, when viewed on another computer (which presumably doesn't have our special font), it displays wrong. No error was displayed during the creation of the PDF. This is becoming intensely frustrating as we create a lot of documents to be printed by other people.
I have tried disabling "use local fonts" to see how it would display on other computers, but it looks identical to what I'm expecting. It's only a problem on other people's computers.Also, when you say you have it set to embed the fonts, just how did you do that setup and how did you create the PDF from WORD - print to the Adobe PDF printer or PDF Maker, as well as what job settings file that was used. You may have done it all correctly and it is a font issue as graffiti has mentioned, but there are other issues that may have been created with your process that may also answer the question.
Looking to see if the fonts are embedded is the first step to resolving the issue. -

When I look at the address bar, I want to see the actual URI of the page I'm on, not some mangled version of it. In other words, I want to see the address in the form that is valid in an <a/> tag in XHTML.
Setting browser.urlbar.trimURLs to false fixes HALF of the problem, but not all of it. If I type in "http://example.com/filename%20with%20spaces.ext", I should see "http://example.com/filename%20with%20spaces.ext". However, I instead see "http://example.com/filename with spaces.ext". The "%20"s are converted into spaces, which are not valid in a real URI. How do I fix the address bar to show the real address of the page?
EDIT: It seems to me that if someone sets the trim setting to false, the URI should not be trimmed in ANY way. This includes the shortening of %20 to a space character. Is this a bug?If it prevented the use of similar-looking characters, that would make sence, but it doesn't. Normally, the URI can only include ASCII characters. Any other character must be encoded. Due to this change, encoded characters are shown in their decoded form, CAUSEING URIs to be able to look like other URIs. Now that you mention it, this actually has the opposite effect as what you mentioned, and is actually a security problem. That's just one more reason why this issue should be fixed.

Pages that use Unicode (UTF-8) display a little box with the hex code if the character can't be displayed. That allows you to look up the character in a table.
This can be caused by missing font support for East Asian (CJK: Chinese, Japanese, Korean) or complex script (Indic) languages. -
How can I get WDS working in the following scenario?

I am going to be trying out Windows Deployment Services at one of our sites because we are moving toward Windows 8 computers in our newest deployments. Being that Windows 8 uses UEFI-type BIOS, Symantec Ghost will not work
for it.
My question is, how does one go about setting up a WDS server that is standalone? Meaning it does not run DHCP or Active Directory. We already have a Linux DHCP server and a seperate Domain controller that serves Active Directory.
I have already tried to set up a WDS seperate server, but doesn't seem to be pushing out any PXE information... well at least the clients aren't seeing it.
Any help would be great.

Are your DHCP, WDS and clients locate in the same subnet?
Build a test computer in the same subnet. Configure DHCP option 66, 67.
Make port 4011 on WDS is not blocked.
Then try again. If there is still any problems, I recommend you install Netmon on WDS server, capture packet, filter DHCP protocol. And post the result here.

My ipad is showing 7gb of storage being used on photos but there's no where near that many. I turned off photo stream but nothing has changed yet. How do i get it to display the correct internal usage now that photo stream is off? I also thought that icloud used another form of storage outside of the internal storage for photos, so im not exactly sure why the photos were ever in my internal storage to begin with. Does anyone know how that happens, or how to correct this problem? Im also trying to sync my ipad with my computer hoping that'll help, but nothing so far, its just taking a long time to back up.
If you are syncing now, that may correct the incorrect storage reading - assuming that it is incorrect.
You can also try something like this. While the iPad is still connected to iTunes - but after you sync - go into the Photos Tab in iTunes and toggle setting for Sync Photos From. Uncheck the setting and then check it again. See if that affects the capacity bar to show the correct storage amount. -
I have a tableView displaying a list of contacts from a Cloud Database. After selecting a contact, I push to a programmatically created MKMapView. Then I display the initial region (the view) that includes the users current location (starting point) and their selected destination (end point).
Now I want to display annotations (as described in the Location Awareness Programming Guide) that displays polylines which will represent the turn-by-turn navigation IN MY OWN APPLICATION, and not in the Map App currently used in IOS6.
Due to licensing and its becoming depricated in IOS 6, I do not want to get routing data from the Google Maps API. How do I get routing data from the IOS 6 Map App (powered by TomTom) so I can display the point-to-point annotations (turn-by-turn navigation) without leaving my own application?
I checked out Stack Overflow and other forums which basically left me with the impression that this is not possible. I also checked out the TomTom iPhone Mobile SDK User Guide from the TomTom Developer Portal and am still confused. It must be possible to retrieve routes, since the Map App can display turn-by-turn directions. I do have progress of a sort though, as a test I took a separate test PC and put a clean install of Win7 on and loaded up the CMS software (it worked perfectly) and then took the version of ole32.dll off that machine and put it onto the computer I had built
for her (using Linux) and...
got a new error code. Darn I was so sure I had found a clever solution this time lol.
Anyway now when the CMS fails it gives me a similar error but the offending module is "ntdll.dll" sooo... I tried taking the "working" version of ntdll.dll from the test box and moving it over (making sure to back up the existing ones
first so I could put them back if needed) to her new PC and the PC would not boot.
It seems to want the original versions of a few Dynamic Link Libraries and if I could somehow give it those while not breaking Win7 it should theoretically work seeing as it no longer errors with ole32.dll.
ntdll.dll however seems necessary for Win7 to boot.
So what I am wondering now is:
Is there some way to have both versions of the DLL file in the system32 folder (bypassing the "cannot have two files with the exact same name in the same folder" thing) or rename the original DLL's something else and somehow make the CMS look for
the new named versions so the system has the updated DLL's it needs to boot/run and the CMS has the old ones it wants to run or is there someway to have a self contained install of the CMS, say on a USB flash drive and give it it's own E:/windows/system32/needed
dll's path to the files it needs?
Willing to try any other options or settings you may have come up with as well.
