How do I get JBuilder3 to recognize the servlet package?

I have recently installed the new j2sdk 1.4 as well as the J2EE. I'm using JBuilder3 and I've redefined the path to the new jdk, although it compiles some of my work now, I am getting lots of warning messages. In addition, my new jdk doesn't recognize my javax.servlet.*; when I have it imported into my class. I recently installed Apache Tomcat and I copied the "servlet.jar" file from the "common/lib" folder over to my bin folder of the new jdk. I am using Windows XP and am just wanting to have this servlet package recognized in my compiler.
The successful solution to my problem will be awarded one duke dollar.
Regards,
Derek

take default project properties.( from project menu ).
take paths tab.
click on Required libraries
click add
click on new ( You can aslo name the library path here )
click on add button
select servlet.jar ( or the jar files containing servlet classes )
Save setting by clicking on OK
Now you can use serlvet classes
I think this should solve your problem

  • How do you get Photos to recognize the "old" iPhoto Library on an external drive without it copying it to the internal drive on the computer which is low in HD space?

How do you get Photos to recognize the “old” iPhoto Library on an external drive without it copying it to the internal drive on the computer which is low in HD space?

Launch Photos while holding down the alt/options key.
This will show the Library Chooser panel. Select the library on the external drive. Photos will create a Photos Library on the same drive.
Photos may not be able to open the library, however, if your external drive has an incompatible file system. It needs to be formatted MacOS Extended (Journaled) and locally mounted, not a remotely mounted volume, as described here:  Format external drives to Mac OS Extended before using with Aperture

  • How can I get iMovie to recognize the external camera?

iMAC running OSX 10.6.8 recognizes external HD Camera hardware, but iMovie fails to recognize the device.  I can copy files "manually" using Finder, but cannot import them directly into iMovie.  How can I get iMovie to recognize the camera?  I have already re-booted all devices and tried multiple USB ports.  In all cases the OS recognizes the camera, but iMovie does not.

OK This camcorder is a fine camcorder. I have an earlier model of a similar camcorder from Panasonic. However, this newer model has one problem. It is not compatible with iMovie if you shoot at the highest quality mode, (which is 60P or 50P - which might be called 28MBPS mode). If you shoot 30P or 30i (even 60i) it will import to iMovie. Also, iMovie can handle 1280x720P60 and P50.
It will definitely work on iMovie 11. It should probably work on iMovie 09. I doubt this camera will be recognized at all on iMovie 08, but it is worth a try. To see which iMovie you have, click iMovie/About and check the version. 9.04 would be iMovie 11. (9.08 is the current version, but it will not run on OSX 10.6.8). 8.06 would be iMovie 09. 7.1.4 would be iMovie 08.
OK So how to work around this limitation?
    1) If you have Final Cut Pro X ($300) or can justify buying it, it will import 60P and 50P from this camera. However, if this seems a little pricey to you, keep reading.
    2) If you set your camera to record in 1080P30 and shoot a short clip, then iMovie should see the camera. Then I would suggest using iMovie import screen to create a CAMERA ARCHIVE of your camera. This will copy to your Mac the entire contents of the video files on your camera. You will need them later. I am assuming you have some valuable footage on the camera that you would like to have.
    3) Going forward, the simplest thing is to shoot in 1920x1080P30 and use iMovie normally. The biggest advantage of P60 or P50 is when you need really high quality slow motion effects. In other words, after you edit your movie, everything is converted to P30 or P25 anyway.
    4) If you want to retrieve the 1080P50 or 1080P60 clips that you have shot, then there are a couple of apps you can buy to convert them to a form that iMovie can edit. Two such apps are ClipWrap and Voltaic HD. There are also various free apps, but I cannot vouch for them. Do a search on google and you may find some that work.

  • My laptop had to be reset to factory settings. prior to that i had all my itunes songs stored on a portable drive. how do i get itunes to recognize the drive as its library?

my laptop had to be reset to factory settings. prior to that i had all my itunes songs stored on a portable drive. how do i get itunes to recognize the drive as its library?

If the library file is on the external drive, hold <SHIFT> while launching iTunes.  When it prompts to select a library file or create a new one, point it to the location of the library file.
If the library file was on the internal harddrive, easiest solution is to restore it from the backup.  If no backup exists, use File > Add Folder to library.  Also under Edit > Preferences > Advanced, change the library location unless you want iTunes to move the media to the internal drive.

  • HT1473 my itunes library isn't playing all of my music how do i get it to recognize the files that are missing?

My computer crashed and I backed up the computer before replacing the hard drive.  Once the hard drive was replaced, I tried to go back and restore my programs, however not all of my music is coming over properly.  How do I get Itunes to recognize the music?  It is all in the same place.

Press Ctrl-B to enable the menu bar, you'll then have File > Add Folder to Library... available.  You can also copy existing media to your iTunes library by copying it to the Automatically Add to iTunes folder within iTunes' folder hierarchy.
To recover playlists, etc. you need to retrieve the iTunes database (iTunes Libarary.itl) from your old computer - a complete backup of an iTunes library includes this as well as your media files.  Ideally, you should have everything under a common folder - C:\Users\username\Music\iTunes if you're using the default location, X:\iTunes (where "X" is any drive letter) if you have the library on another drive.  The ideal structure is like this:
so that you can create a backup of the iTunes folder and everything you need - either to move your library to another computer, or to create/maintain a regular backup against PC/disc failures - is in one place.
If you did backup and restore your iTunes Library.itl file via Carbonite, or can access and copy it from your old PC, then make sure its in the correct location with respect to your media files, hold down SHIFT when you start iTunes, and when you get this prompt:
click on Choose Library..., navigate to the folder containing your library, select the iTunes Library.itl file (which may just show as "iTunes Library" if Windows is set to not show file extensions) and click Open.

  • Time Machine does not recognize my iMac backup. Reports: not enough space; can't back up. How do I get it to recognize the backup?

Time Machine does not recognize my 430 GB iMac backup on 1 terabyte Time Capsule. Reports: not enough space; can’t back up. How do I get it to recognize the old backup and continue backups?

Thanks for the Time Machine Troubleshooting link. Apparently things have changed since 10.7.0. Backups.backupdb doesn’t exist. Path now is: Time Capsule/Data/Daru’s iMac.sparsebundle. So I did Terminal (I usually avoid Terminal) using the instruction in B6. It does not appear to be working. It went through looking for backup, preparing backup, and is now stopping backup, and the TMBackup has disappeared from the sidebar.
Well, just now Time Machine progressed to preparing backup again; the Tiime Machine Backups appeared in sidebar, and with it Backups.backupdb/Daru’s iMac/2012-04-21-112939.inProgress. So it does exist... I’ll let it run, see what happens... But that is a strange date. Today is 28.
I’ll let you know the outcome.
Oops. Just ended! Real time report: “Backup too large for disk...“ So it is not recognizing the old backup. I’ll look at those instructions again, see if I can do the Terminal thing with the backup running. I doubt I can damage anything except the existing baackup which I'll lose anywy if I can’t achieve recognition.

  • How can I get iTunes to recognize the apps that are missing from the library screen but still on the machine??

My apps are not showing-up in the iTunes library but they are present in the apps folder. How can I get iTunes to recognize their presence?
Library-Apps-All (only three of several hundred appear).
Apps are still present in Users-Music-Mobile Applications
    I am running iTunes 11.0, OS X 10.8.2 on a Mac Pro.
Ran Disk Utility, Techtool, Disk Warrior and then reinstalled Mountain Lion, updated it and repaired permissions. No change.
There is a file that says 'iTunes Library (damaged), which is the iTunes Database file. How can that file be re-created?
Any technical help on replacing that file with a new, fresh one would be appreciated!

It has always been very basic to maintain a backup of media and other important files.  If you chose to reinstall the OS without having a backup, well that just is not smart.
If you are in the US and running iTunes 10.3 or later, iTunes purchases can be redownloaded via iCloud.  Simply log into the iTunes store, select purchases, purchase history and redownload the content.
If you are not in the US.... well, seems you just learned and important and possibly expensive lesson.

  • Hp laserjet pro 400 m401 dw - how do you get it to recognize the second print tray?

We just bought this printer a month ago, and we love it, so we bought the second tray (or drawer, however you want to think of it) because my biggest complaint everyday is reloading paper trays. WE have tried everything we can think of to get the printer to recognize the second tray and to pull paper from there when the first one is empty, but its not working. Its like we bought it for no reason. Does anyone know how to make it work? Thanks
    This question was solved.
    View Solution.

You need to distinguish between the following:
Printer - does the printer itself know that the tray is present? Check by printing a 'configuration' report, or by checking settings with the Embedded Web Server. If the tray is not recognised, this implies a physical problem with tray connector, etc.
Computer - does the printer driver on your system know that the additional tray is available? On a Windows system, look at the Device Settings tab on the Printer Properties dialogue, and check that the extra tray is set to Installed rather than Not installed.

  • I have an external hard drive hooked up to my time capsule how do i get iTunes to recognize the external hard drive

i have an external hard drive hooked up to my time capsule andi can not get my macbook pro with itunes to recognize the hard drive. does the hard drive need to be formatted to my mac. it has been formatted and does have existing fles on it.  Thanks for the help in advance.

Well sometimes it won't boot, but the drive is fine.
You'll have to run through these steps and depending what occurs (or doesn't) will give you a clue, if you need to replace the drive and restore from the TM drive.
Step by Step to fix your Mac
My computer is dead, is my personal data lost?
Create a data recovery/undelete external boot drive
In the future, consider bootable clones, they are bootable, but TM drives are not.

  • New Username after reinstalling Windows7: How do i get iTunes to recognize the files?

    Hey everybody,
    ive got a little problem.
Ive just reinstalled my OS (Win7) and renamed the user from previously sebastain to sebastian.
Ive Backuped my whole iTunes folder including the Music. Unlucky: iTunes doesnt recognize the Files because of the new username.
So i took the "iTunes Music Libary.xml" and had a programm replacing all the "sebastain" in the paths by "sebastian".
    But stil it doesnt work.
Is there anything i can do exept for renamind the user back to "sebastain"?
    Thanks!

If possible, move the music back to it's original place.
You moved the files to another disk, without telling iTunes.
That's why iTunes can't find them.
Let iTunes do the move: iTunes: Moving your iTunes Music folder
In the preferences, you can change the iTunes Music folder to another location, but you're only telling iTunes where to store the next imports, not where the music files are.
That information is stored in the iTunes Library file:

  • How do I get 9ias to recognize my servlets?

    Hi,
How do I get my 9ias to recognize my servlets? I have modifed my jserv.properties to define the location of my properties file :
    # Configuration file for each servlet zone (one per servlet zone)
    # Syntax: [servlet zone name as on the zones list].properties=[full path to configFile] (String)
    # Default: NONE
    # Note: if the file could not be opened, try using absolute paths.
    root.properties=/opt/app/oracle/product/9i/Apache/Jserv/etc/zone.properties
    cmedia.properties=/opt/app/oracle/product/9i/Apache/Jserv/etc/cmedia.properties
Modified jserv.conf to mount my servlets:
    ApJServMount /servlets /root
    ApJServMount /servlet /root
    ApJServMount /cmedia/servlets ajpv11://cmprod.md.essd.northgrum.com/cmedia
And created a zone properties file specifing the location of my repositories
    repositories=/usr2/local/cmedia/servlets
What else do I have to do to get Apache/Jserv to recognize my servlets?
Is it necessary to stop/start apache/jserv for this to happen?
    Art

If these are new Servlets, check to make sure they are Jservlet Spec 2.0 and below. Any servlet developed in Jdev 3.2 will not work on iAS 1.0.x. If your servlet sticks to spec 2.0 and you are using iAS 1.0.2.2, you must use ApJServGroupMount rather than *Mount as 1022 has some new jserv balancing built in.

  • How do I get Pages to recognize the Norwegian language in spell-check?

I'm Ameican and I got my beautiful MacBook air with me in Norway.  I use Pages to write notes and do homework, but it doesn't have Norwegian as a language amunst the spellcheck dictionary.  It has Swedish and Danish ofcours, but it's not the same.  Is there any way to get a Norwegian (bokmål) dictionary for Pages?

You may also add OpenOffice spell checkers, there is a long list of languages, including Norwegian. These may be used with other apps too. Downloaded OO dics have the extension .oxt, manually change it to .zip, confirm when asked that you really wish to do this. Open the resulted folder and take from there .dic and .aff files, and move them to /Library/spelling. You may thus have as many spell checking dics as you wish. They may be selected in all the apps based on the Cocoa engine, including Pages.
In the attached screenshot, in the lower part you may see these dics.
P.S. I am not very familiar with Norwegian, but it seems the article does not specify how to download and install OO dics.
