How do I get my files back? Or money back? because im ******!

I had baught a whole bunch of TV shows on iTunes, Backed it up, Reformated my computer, Reinstalled iTunes and transferred purchases from my iPod Touch. They show up in my iTunes but say they cannot play and cannot sync it to my ipod! LIKE WTH?! and then all my music I baught was still there and working and syncing but the tv shows nooo ..
HELP??!

As your music is working I assume you have authorised the computer because the re-format of it will have made it a new computer.
I've recently had to do the same as you but everything I transferred still works. I have, however, found some of the personal videos I encoded for iPod no longer worked on the Touch but had to be re-formatted for the Touch so I wonder if a firmware update has changed what can be played?
If you still have the e-mails iTunes sent you when you bought the programs, there is a report a problem link in those.

System files are hidden by default in Finder now, search for what you want then click the little + button on the top right of the bar that appears when you do a search. A new bar comes up and click the first box (that says "Kind"), change it to "System Files". Then change the box that says "aren't included" to "are included" and your file should show up.

Your redemption code was used to acquire an activation code.  The activation code is what you need to use when you want to reinstall/enable the software again.  Check your Adobe account online to see if the number(s) can be found there.

  • How can I get specific files back from my Time Machine backup?

I wanted to make a fresh install on my MacBook Pro, in order to only have Java 8 instead of any older Java versions. So far so good. But now I want to get specific files/libraries from my external backup (USB):
    One Parallels Virtual Machine
    My old mail
    My iPhoto Library
I don't need any settings for these, since I can easily configure them again.
I already used the Migration Assistent to restore all apps.
How can I get specific data back from the backup without restoring all stuff that I don't want anymore?
I'm now working on a new account on the fresh system, called 'Admin'. My old account was called 'Hans' (or 'hans') and I'd like to create such an account again for all my tasks.

I'm now working on a new account on the fresh system, called 'Admin'. My old account was called 'Hans' (or 'hans') and I'd like to create such an account again for all my tasks.
You will want to add the same User account(s) which hold the data you want to restore. So you will want to add a User account of 'Hans or hans'. Check your Time Machine back up drive to see how the User account is labeled (Hans or hans). Navigate to the Users folder and see how it's labeled.
You can then use your Time Machine back up drive and navigate to the User Home folder to copy its data over (e.g. contents from Documents, Downloads, Music, Pictures, etc.). Repeat for other Users.

  • Elements 12 organiser has changed all raw files to jpeg - how do I get raw files back?

Cannot edit raw files as Elements (12) seems to have changed them all to jpegs - can anyone let me know how to get raw files back?

    Hello Jim,
Many thanks for your response.  Wondering if we did something in Elements preferences?  Usually, when thumbnails are opened in the editor, it’s a raw file to work on.  However, all the thumbnails, when opened in the editor, are all of a sudden opening as jpegs …. not raw.  o it looks as though all the raw files are now jpegs, and we don’t know how to get them back.
Any help you can offer will be gratefully received, as my husband works on his photos in Elements and it’s driven him mad!
    Many thanks & regards.

  • How can I get my files back in their proper folders in Windows Explorer?

For over 10 years I have meticulously put my photos in folders according to month, event.  So a folder is in directory labeled 2013, with
I've successfully used Adobe Bridge to browse, edit, final edit in Photoshop.
Now I use Lightroom and everything is put into a Lightroom Catalog with weird numbers on the folders and all my pictures have vanished from my carefully created folders on Windows Explorer?
How do I put the pictures back to where they were - short of going to my backup files.
Also since using Lightroom, Photoshop is hanging saying it is waiting for Network I/O threads - so I cannot save (on my own disk - why Photoshop CC should look at the network for every task beats me - I had about 5 threads waiting on the network).
All I'm trying to do is find my best 12 pictures from 2013 to make a Christmas letter and I've already spent a whole evening trying to get this to work.
Is this how Lightroom works, or is it a terrible bug, or is there an option to not move the original files when making a Lightroom catalog?
I am a single user, so don't need sharing, network, workflow.
I only want Lightroom to Point to my files, not to move them.  Maybe I should go back to Bridge?

I discovered a wonderful blog that explained:
Lightroom is a database and it holds the pictures
Bridge is a browser that browses files on the disk
I'm getting used to Lightroom, even though I have many pictures because I organize them and only look at recent ones, it does seem that Bridge is better for me - so I am not locked into Adobe's database.
All is clear now - except Photoshop is hanging a bit - maybe graphics driver or memory problem. Sometimes it works, sometimes it seems to time out.

  • How do I get a file BACK to camera raw in CS5?

I worked on a file in camera raw, and accidentally pressed enter (well, I actually pressed it on purpose, thinking that would just accept the action I was working on), which sent the file to PS.  I wanted to continue working on the file in camera raw, but I can't figure out how to get the raw file back to camera raw.
    Help please.

One way was given above.Other way --go to Bridge & right click thumbnail and clear Develop settings. That is it.
Basically ,pl note that all changes made in Raw are stored in XMP file that is generated beside the original one.No Changes are made in Raw file.Open Bridge Keep track of one thumnail and delete its XMP file in explorer. The moment u delete the XMP file , ur thumbnail is restored to original. U have the same non-destuctive nature in Lightroom also but in a different fashion.Since ur question is basic now, U are going to enjoy RAW editing after going deep into it.Have a nice learning

  • Deleted and resized bootcamp partition. How can I get my files back?!?!?

So I used a Windows partition for months and decided to switch back to Mac.
I backed up most of my files and then deleted the partition with the Mac Boot Camp Assistant. Then resized it back to 500gb.
I soon realized that there are some very important files which I forgot to backup off the windows partition.
I REALLY need these files back, please tell me there is SOME WAY I can recover those files.
    PLEASE HELP!

    Hi Yale,
    Thanks for your post.
What’s the version of your TFS and VS?
How did you “removed the mapping in Source Control Explorer”? Please share the detailed steps here.
If you deleted the source files in Source Control Explorer, but you haven’t check-in on your source folder, you can perform
Undo Pending Change… on your source folder to get that deleted sour files back.

  • I restored my hard drive, how do i get my files back for iweb

I had to restore my hard drive on my imac. I had backed everything up with time machine prior to the restore.  I have been able to get everything back up and running except my iweb.  The program and icon are showing but i cannot get my website back in the program.

iWeb needs the domain file where it stores its content. The picture shows where it should be.
If you made a backup you can restore it.
If the backup is missing, you'll have to start from scratch. You cannot import published HTML pages.
It's often discussed in this forum.

  • Installed new SSD. How do I get my files back from Time Machine?

Hi all, if you take the time to read my issue, thanks a lot. I appreciate any help you can offer, and sorry if anything is unclear...
The 1tb drive eventually failed on my 2009 27", quad core i7 imac. I had USB backup using time machine to an external 2 tb disk.
Repair guy took my mac to his shop, and installed a new samsung 1tb SSD.
He had trouble reinstalling from my time machine backup - so he's just installing Yosemite (I was using 10.8.x?) and giving it back to me with a fresh install of Yosemite.
When he tried to use time machine to restore my system to how it was, he started the process, and it said that it would take 13 hours, so he left it overnight.
When he returned, he found a white screen with a frozen mouse pointer. He did a hard reboot, and then could not access the drive at all - the system would not allow him to read the drive and he had to take the drive out, reformat from another mac, and then install Yosemite again.
Now he has suggested that I simply drag and drop all my folders from the USB time machine backup into my computer, and seems to think this will get things back to how they were. I'm not sure that it works like that though...I'd expect certain applications need to be installed, settings changed, permissions granted, passwords entered...that kind of thing.
Now I have a choice - whether to
    A) reinstall my applications one at a time, and then copy the data from my backup drive.
    B) manually drag and drop all the files from the most recent backup folder into the "computer" folder. (This was his suggestion)
    C) attempt some kind of migration using the Migration assistant.  (I believe this is what the guy tried- he started it off, it said "13 hours remaining) he left it running overnight, and came back to a static white screen with frozen mouse, he powered down, then when he switched it back on, the screen did not load any OS (not sure whether it had booted into some kind of BIOS, but he said it was so unresponsive that he had to remove the drive and reformat it from another computer).
    D) Try some other application for intelligently restoring my apps and data from the Time Machine backup.
To be honest, my main concern is screwing things up badly! I'm veering towards reinstalling my apps, even if it means fixing up preference settings and typing in codes etc... I would rather take a slow and steady approach rather than a "risk having to take it back to the shop/take it apart" approach.
Also, is migration different from restoring from time-machine?
Perhaps you could advise me? Many thanks

Restart the computer and hold the Command & R keys.
Thanks - I didn't know how to do that!
I did that, and it went through the steps for restoring from the time machine backup. I didn't click on "restore" just yet... My concern is that when the guy in the shop tried that, it resulted in the serious failure that required the drive to be removed and formatted from another computer.
I'm wondering what might have caused that - is it possible that the external drive had a failure, or (more likely) that the drive caddy it sits in briefly lost power or something?
Also, can you tell me if simply drag-dropping the files from the time-machine backup would result in everything returning to its initial state? Or is that (as I suspect) a bad idea?
Right now I have a fresh Yosemite install which works. I'd rather have that, and slowly restore my files and apps manually than risk getting the same result as the guy in the shop. Do you think that restoring from the restore partition is worth trying again?

  • I deleated numbers and pages files and apps on my iPhone and when I got to work all my files were gone from numbers and pages on my iPad. How do I get those files back on my iPad?

My storage was getting low on my iCloud, so I decided to delete my files from numbers and pages on my iPhone and delete the apps on my phone because i  did not really use it on my phone.  When I got to work and clicked on pages and numbers on my iPad the files were gone. I assume the files were deleted through iCloud.  I did not want the files deleted on the iPad and would like to know how to get them back?

If you also backed up to your computer - you can restore from that backup - to retrieve the files. As far as I know- that should have no bearing on deleting them from iCloud - they should still be in that backup.
If you used iOS file sharing with your computer - and saved the files to your computer - you can retrieve them from there.
if the only place that the files were saved to was iCloud, I know of no way to get them back.

  • ITunes is empty, how do I get my files back into it?

This morning I was trying to clean up my Macbook, get rid of applications I'm not using, clearing caches etc. (Everything was seeming to run a bit slow - which prompted the attempt to clean up unnecessary stuff)
Something ended up happening with my iTunes library - It's like it reset it's self nothing's in it anymore. However, I'm almost certain all the music files are still on my computer. It seems like the library is still there too, I just can't really figure out how I'm supposed to get it back into iTunes. I started to add one (Library file, I think it was) back into iTunes - and it was going fine, until it said that it was running out of memory. I click "OK" I click "Cancel" the error message keeps popping up and not going away. I force quit iTunes, thinking what's already been imported will be there and I can find a way to work out the rest. Didn't work. iTunes is still empty and now about half of my available memory is gone. I have 2 previous itunes Library files (of the lib file type) and an iTunes library.xml there's also a file with all of the music. But I want to see if I can restore my videos as well. I do have everything backed up on an external hard drive, but that's kind of a pain to restore, and I think my files are still here, I'm just confused as to what to do.

The itunes folder now seems to only a fraction of the stuff that I originally had - I'm thinking from when I tried to reimport the stuff and then it said I was out of memory. (the things that were imported are in there, even though no showing up in itunes, and the things that didn't get imported aren't) I don't really get how my entire itunes library can be gone (5000 songs and about a week's worth of videos) yet I have 13MG less memory available. If I lost that much stuff shouldn't I have more?

  • Lightroom "folders" section, eveything disappeared, how do I get the files back?

Technically I believe the files are still within lightroom, and still on my hard drive. Under Catalog "All Photographs" it has all the ones I've ever imported to Lightroom. I was doing something and right clicked under the folders tab, thinking I was doing to delete a File under the Folders section that was empty and I didn't need in lightroom anymore. and everything vanished. I'm unsure how to get all the files in order again. All the pictures are still there. Just not in the folder's section with the names/section of my harddrive where I upload them too and name them. The raw files anyways. Someone please help me. What do I do?

If I understand correctly, it sounds like the entire Folders panel vanished, is that right? If so, there are 2 ways to bring it back.
Go to Window > Panels, and click Folders.
Or, right-click the header of the Catalog, Collections, or Publish Services panels and click Folders from the contextual menu that appears.
Most people seem to lose it from an inadvertent right-click I think.

  • How do I get a file back that Pages (on iPad) automatically deleted?

I was working on a file in the iPad Pages app, collapsed it to see all my documents in the program, then left Pages to check the 'net for a second, and when I returned to the Pages documents screen, the file thumbnail was not the usual microscopic text image of the file, but the Pages logo, and I was unable to access it when I tapped on it.
    No reason was given.
So I restarted my Ipad (was this bad?), and when I went back in Pages, the file was there on the doucments screen with the Pages logo for only a second before it disappeared or was deleted.
Boo-urns. Can I get back? A data recovery sort of thing?
I back up my ipad regularly with my macbook via iTunes. Can I find an older version of it on my macbook somehow?
Thanks for any assitance you can offer.

If your have backed up your iPad to iCloud or your computer you can recover the file otherwise you may be out of luck. Did you you have iCloud backup turned on?
