How do I get my music from my IPod back in the library of my new computer, it tells me I can only Sync my IPod with one library but I don't have my old PC anymore?

How can I Sync my IPod in ITune on a new PC and get the music from the IPod in the library and avoid this msg:
You can only Sync one library with your IPod?

Use the backup of the media and other important files from the old computer to put them on the new computer.
iTunes only syncs with one computer/library at a time.
If you have failed to maintain a backup or no longer have the old computer, you may be out of luck.
iTunes purchases can be transfered from the iDevice.  Connect the device, do NOT sync.  Select File > Transfer Purchases.
This will only transfer iTunes purchases.  All other media will not transfer and will be wiped from the device when it is synced with a new computer/library.

I changed my computer (old Dell is dead!) and now when I want to sync the contents of my iPod onto my new computer (a Sony Vaio), it tells me I can only sync with one computer (i.e. the one that died!) How do I get around this??

-Transfer iTunes purchases to the compuer by:
iTunes Store: Transferring purchases from your iOS device or iPod to a computer
    - Transfer other music by using a third-party program like one of those discusssed here:
    Copy music
    - Connect the Ipd to the computer and make a backup by right clicking on the iPod under Devices in iTunes and select Back Up
    - Restore the iPod from that backup
Note that the backup that iTunes makes does not contain synced media like apps and music.

  • How do I get my music from my iphone back to itunes?

When I downloaded the upgraded itunes I lost all of my downloaded music from itunes but it is still on my iphone.   How do I get my music from my iphone3 back to itunes without loosing it as I now have a new iphone5 and i would like the music put on that phone?

The iphone is not a backup device.  The sync is one way -computer iphone.
    The exception is itunes purchases.
You can transfer itunes purchases to your computer by opening itunes, connecting iphone clicking File>Transfer Purchases

Why the **** can I only sync my phone with one itunes program. Perhaps I have two computers with different music on both of them that i'd like to add to my iphone, ipad, itouch, ipod. Fix this please thanks.

Becasue that is the way the ****** iphone is designed.
You can only sync with one ******computer.
There is nothing to ****** fix.
It is the ****** design of the iphone.  It is ****** by design.

  • I have just purchased a new macbook and need to sync my iphone with itunes, i understand that you can only sync your phone with one itunes account. I do not want to wipe my iphone when syncing with this new itunes account. Any advice welcome

I have just purchased a new macbook and need to sync my iphone with itunes, i understand that you can only sync your phone with one itunes account. I do not want to wipe my iphone when syncing with this new itunes account. Any advice welcome

    1) authorize iTunes on the new machine for your iTunes store account(s)
    2) connect your device and right-click or control-click it in the iTunes Source list, then choose transfer purchases from the shortcut menu that appears.
    3) sync the device
iTunes will wipe the iPhone but, since you transferred your purchases in the previous step, your content will be in your library and you can re-populate the iPhone with it.

  • How do I get my music from a backup back into iTunes?

Computer crashed.  I have a backup.  I just want to get my music back on my computer without doing a full reinstall.  How do I find what I need in the Time Machine or Time Capsule, whatever it is called? Can I still keep my playlists, etc?
I am not super computer savvy, but I can work my way around. Simple instructions, please. I just need my music, so I can sync my iPhone.
    Thanks!
    Cherie

It sounds to me like the option to  "copy files to iTunes Music folder when adding to library" was turned off in the iTunes -> Advanced preferences when you added the tracks from the flash drive, so iTunes left them on the flash drive rather than copying them to your computer's hard drive. Get Info on any of the tracks and see where iTunes thinks they should be located. If they're pointing to the flash drive, check that preference.
If that is indeed the problem, you'll need to fix the location. You can do this track by track if there aren't too many, but if there are a number of them, it'll be easiest to remove them from the iTunes library, fix the above-mentioned preference, and add the tracks again. Or you can just keep the flash drive connected to your computer, but that's probably not ideal.
    Regards.

My PC crashed a few weeks ago. I have had it reformatted and have reinstalled itunes. When I hook up my iPhone and choose "transfer purchases from Amanda's iPhone" it only pulls over a few random songs (and I have purchased many, many more). How do I copy my music off of my iphone onto my PC?
    Thanks!

    First try this:
    - Go on iTunes computer
    - plug in the iPod
    - authorize your device from store/authorize
    - iPod / transfer from iPod by right clicking on the left pane
This will only transfer iTunes purchased music, not ripped CDs. and it is unnecessary now, as the music can just be downloaded from the cloud.

  • I have PURCHASED iTunes music on my iCloud account. The music appears on my iPhone. How do I get selected music from my iTunes on my iMac into the Cloud?

I have PURCHASED iTunes music on my iCloud account. The music appears on my iPhone. How do I get selected music from my iTunes on my iMac into the Cloud?

Sorry - not sure what you are asking. The Purchased music on your device is either on your device (i.e., downloaded to it), or it is not downloaded, in which case it is in iTunes in the Cloud. On your Mac, the same is true. Each device or machine may have different Purchases downloaded from iTunes in the Cloud.
What is it that you are wanting to do?

    Hi gene98,
Welcome to the Apple Support Communities!
It sounds like you still need to change the country for your iTunes Store account. Please review the attached article for information and instruction on how to do so.

  • I had songs loaded on my PC and Shuffle. My PC crashed and they were unable to restore my iPod library (that is still on my shuffle). Now, my shuffle has been used so much, I must replace it! Q: How do I get my music from old shuffle onto new shuffle?

I had songs on my PC and my shuffle and my PC crashed. They were unable to restore my iTunes library when my computer was fixed. The songs still remain on my Shuffle, but now it is being replaced with another Shuffle. Q: How do I get my music from my old Shuffle onto my new Shuffle? Thanks!

You will need the help of some sort of 3rd party software to help you copy the content from your Shuffle back to your PC.  Once you have done that, you can reimport this music into iTunes and configure it to sync to your new Shuffle.

  • How do i get my music from media shout to itunes

how do i get my music from my media shout library into itunes

Purchased from iTunes or acquired from somewhere else.
For purchases make sure you authorize your computer in iTunes and go to File > Transfer Purchases.
For other songs you will need 3rd party software. Which one depends on what type of computer you have.
Easiest way to put your music is to use your backup from your old computer and restore it on the new one.

  • How do i get my music from ipod onto new computer when old computer died

my old computer died unexpectedly and now i have a new one ...how do i get my music from ipod to itunes...i don't want to lose it since i have already paid for it...

1). Connect your iPod to your new computer. If it is set to sync automatically you'll get a message that it is linked to a different library and asking if you want to link to this one and replace all your songs etc, press "Cancel". Pressing "Erase and Sync" will irretrievably remove all the songs from your iPod.
2). When your iPod appears in the iTunes source list change the update setting to manual, that will let you continue to use your iPod without the risk of accidentally erasing it. Check the "manually manage music and videos" box in Summary then press the Apply button. Also when using most of the utilities listed below your iPod needs to be enabled for disc use, changing to manual update will do this by default: Managing content manually on iPod and iPhone
3). Once you are connected and your iPod is safely in manual mode there are a few things you can do to restore your iTunes from the iPod. iTunes will only let you copy your purchases directly from an iPod to the computer, you'll find details in this article: Copying iTunes Store purchases from your iPod or iPhone to a computer
For everything else (music from CDs, other downloads and including iTunes purchases) there are a number of third party utilities that you can use to retrieve the music files and playlists from your iPod. You'll find that they have varying degrees of functionality and some will transfer movies, videos, photos, podcasts and games as well. You can read reviews and comparisons of some of them here:
Wired News - Rescue Your Stranded Tunes
    Comparison of iPod managers
A selection of iPod to iTunes utilities:
TuneJack Windows Only (iPhone and iPod Touch compatible)
SharePod Windows Only (iPhone and iPod Touch compatible)
    iPod2PC Windows Only
    iDump Windows Only
    YamiPod Mac and Windows
iPod Music Liberator Mac & Windows
    Floola Mac & Windows
iPodRip Mac & Windows (iPhone and iPod Touch compatible)
iPod Music Liberator Mac & Windows (iPhone and iPod Touch compatible)
Music Rescue Mac & Windows (iPhone and iPod Touch compatible)
iGadget Mac & Windows (iPhone and iPod Touch compatible)
iRepo Mac & Windows (iPhone and iPod Touch compatible)
iPod Access Mac & Windows (iPhone and iPod Touch compatible)
TouchCopy Mac & Windows (iPhone and iPod Touch compatible)
There's also a manual method of copying songs from your iPod to a Mac or PC. The procedure is a bit involved and won't recover playlists but if you're interested it's available on page 2 at this link: Copying Content from your iPod to your Computer - The Definitive Guide
4). Whichever of these retrieval methods you choose, keep your iPod in manual mode until you have reloaded your iTunes and you are happy with your playlists etc then it will be safe to return it auto-sync.
5). I would also advise that you get yourself an external hard drive and back your stuff up, relying on an iPod as your sole backup is not a good idea and external drives are comparatively inexpensive these days, you can get loads of storage for a reasonable outlay: Back up your iTunes library by copying to an external hard drive
