How do i get my playlists on to a different PC?

Hi my ipod nano was set up on my laptop, however for some reason my laptop now says there has been some issue with itunes and gives me an error message, so i have un istalled it. I wantred to get it set up on my home pc now, and i have downloaded the latest itunes to do this. Everything seems ok however i cannot see my old playlists on my pc, even though this has been authorised, how can i do this? and i dont think i can bring it up on my laptop to try and deauth or copy the songs? Help pls thanks ;-)

Since this is PC version using XP I'm afraid you'll have to check in on the PC side.
Caution: just say your using XP Home and trying out the trial. Don't mention the word Mac. PC folks, would make you regret doing that. As much as its so 80's and 90's for such behavior its still around.

All you can do is restore from backup if yu have one. If you backed up to iTunes make sure that autosyncing is turned off. Otherwise when you connect the iPod to the computer the backup with you data might be overwritten. To turn off go to iTunes>Preferences>Devicesand check the box that says "Prevent iPods...".

You need to transfer the iTunes library, not just the music.
Copy the entire /Music/iTunes/ folder from old computer to new computer.

It has always been very basic to always maintain a backup copy of your computer for this very occasion.

You can't move an iMovie project file and expect it to play.
You need to export from the machine that holds the source files to the format supported by the device.
