How do i get my video to work in slow motion or sped up?

I'm trying to use iMovie on my iPad to play/post movies online (i.e. FB, YouTube). So how do I speed up my videos or slow them down (editing) prior to posting? I've researched with iMovie for said information but have been unsuccessful in finding any resolutions...Any advice would be most appreciated!

I kind of have the opposite problem. I need to know how to turn off my remote on the computer. I am using the remote for my Apple TV and it keeps making the volume on my Computer go up and down (with annoying sounds).
There used to be a way to un-sync the remote with the comp but I cannot remember how and the Apple help is not much help! I have Lion.

How can i get incoming video to work during a video conference?

Until recently, i have been able to chat with people over video chat very easily, without any problems at all. Not too long ago, i have been experiencing some odd occurrences. When i invite or am invited to a video chat, it will just come up with the video coming from my camera. I can hear audio coming from the other person but no video of them. I have tried this with 3 people who have the same computer as me and it does the same thing every time. They say that they can see and hear me, but i cannot see them. It is almost as if i am in a one-way video chat, however i am not.
Anyone that has a solution to this please donate your ideas!!

The Video Pic failing to display is either something to do with the Processing of the Video or getting the video through iChat.
As I have already posted the first point is the .plist may be corrupt hence deleting it hand restarting iChat.
It may be to do with the Internet speed as seen by iChat which reads the Quicktime Setting - hence setting it to 1.5Mbps and restarting iChat again.
After that it can be the Cache and Log files and running the Cron scripts usually sorts this.
Does this happen with all Buddies ?
Use Table 1 for the Apple test accounts that Auto answer

If that does not work Quit iChat
Paste the Bold text below into Terminal
/Applications/iChat.app/Contents/MacOS/iChat -errorLogLevel 7
This will force iChat to start and create a log as it does so.
As iChat launches for you normally try a Video chat.
Not where that process starts in the Log and then post the Start up bit and then the continuance as two separate parts.
(Or at least mark the log when you post it here.)
There may be something wrong with the App in which case a Reinstall may be in order.
Please Note the last paragraph that says to run the Combo Installer afterwards of the latest OS (Or at least the level you are at to bring iChat up to the level of the OS).
Running the Combo Installer can sort things like this out on it's own. So that is worth trying even before the Reinstall.
Finally it may be Quicktime itself.
Reinstalling this is just a question of running the Download

How about using a 60fps video for a smooth slow motion effect in a 30fps project ?

Hey all,
I happen to have a video camera that is able to shoot either in 720p/60fps or 720p/30fps.
As you guessed it, 60 fps mode is very useful for action sports when you want to do some slow motion effect running very smoothly.
I have few questions I would love to be answered, and I was not able to find answers till now.
Here they are :
1/ If I want my final video file to be, let's say, 25 fps, is it mandatory that my project is 25 fps too ?
What will happen if I do a 30fps project and that I export to a 25fps file ? Does Premiere simply remove some extra frames ? Or will it lead to a longer video ? What consequence on the final result if frames are removed ? I mean, will I be able to see any difference or will the difference remain theorical ?
2/ Let's say I have both 30fps and 60fps videos. I set my project to 30fps. If I import my 60fps video to the timeline, it will be adjusted to 30fps and some frames disappear to keep the duration the same. Okay, this is clear to me.
But now, what if I import my 60fps to the timeline, but set the speed to 50% ? Will Premiere apply the 50% to the original file (therefore I should have all the frames displayed on the timeline : 60/2=30 fps), or to the 30fps-adjusted file of the timeline, leading to some jerky footage?
3/ If I want to use my 60fps for slow motion purpose in my 30fps project, would it be a good idea to right-click on this file in the project windows, going to the "modify" menu to set the image frequency to 30fps ?
Because while doing so, if I drag the file to the timeline, I noticed it would last 2 times longer (resulting in a slow motion video) Does that mean that ALL the frames of the original video are displayed ? Can someone tell me what exactly does Premiere ?
I would be very grateful if someone could tell me what are the correct settings to chose in order to realise the best slow motion videos as possible.

Well, I may be naive but i thought some experts already had the answer to this (I guess I'm not the only one who intend to do some slo mo), and would have been kind enough to share this knowledge with me. That's what sometimes happens in communities.
Please note I do not intend others to do the job for me, I'm just asking if someone already knows the answer.
I asked this question because I couldn't find any documentation about this, and I guess asking on internet was the next step, as testing would be like the last resort, being very time consuming.
It was easy to check the effect of dragging a file to the timeline to see if it played normally or not, but it's definitely not to count and compare each frame of some sample file to find if some are lacking, or have been doubled or what....
I assume I would be very happy with just a simple theorical answer either...
So once again, if someone already has been into such questions, I would really pleased him or her to share or report what they experienced. Thanks in advance.

On your Mac you could install QuickTime Player 7. This lets you step a movie using the arrow keys (in slideshow mode) or play the movie at half the speed.

How do I get facebook videos to work?

Facebook videos on the main feed show a still image and a loading sign but never play and when I click on them I get a black screen and a loading sign. However, the video never plays.

Try disabling graphics hardware acceleration. Since this feature was added to Firefox, it has gradually improved, but there still are a few glitches.
You might need to restart Firefox in order for this to take effect, so save all work first (e.g., mail you are composing, online documents you're editing, etc.).
Then perform these steps:
#Open Firefox ''Options'' window (''Preferences'' on Mac or Linux) as follows:
#* In Firefox 29.0 and above, click the menu button [[Image:New Fx Menu]] and select ''Options'' for Windows or ''Preferences'' on Mac or Linux.
#* In Firefox 28.0 and previous versions, click the orange Firefox button at the top left, then select the "Options" button, or, if there is no Firefox button at the top, go to Tools > Options.
#In the Firefox Options (or Preferences) window, click the ''Advanced'' tab, then select ''General''.
#In the settings list, you should find the ''Use hardware acceleration when available'' checkbox. Uncheck this checkbox.
#Now, restart Firefox and see if the problems persist.

Flash is not supported on the iPad. There are some apps that take a flash video on a web page, send it to a server which converts it to a format suitable for the iPad, but these are somewhat iffy.

No. After upgrading (and of course make a back up first) you will need to update iPhoto to v9.6.1 (you won't be able to do this prior to upgrading). Here's how:
Go to the App Store and check out the Purchases List. If iPhoto is there then it will be v9.6.1
If it is there, then drag your existing iPhoto app (not the library, just the app) to the trash
Install the App from the App Store.
Sometimes iPhoto is not visible on the Purchases List. it may be hidden. See this article for details on how to unhide it.

iPhoto the application and the iPhoto Library are two different parts of the iPhoto programme. So, reinstalling the app should not affect the Library. BUT you should always have a back up before doing this kind of work. Always.
Photos is v1 of a new app, as yes it's not as mature as iPhoto. It uses a different technology for working with external editors. That requires Adobe to write an extension to let it hook into the new app. Not done yet, neither has anyone else.
Going forward: iPhoto will run on OS 10.10., but there is no guarantee for subsequent versions of the OS. You might want to factor that into your anger term thinking.

Yes definitely make sure you're not covering the mic, its at the bottom of the phone on the left next to the 30 pin, but if thats not the problem and you're still under warranty then definitely take it back to apple because it's probably a hardware issue and theyll gladly replace or fix it for you.

I cannot get the video out to TV to work on my iPhone 3GS with iOS 5.1.1.
I am using the $40.00 apple composite AV cables and nothing seems to work. With the cables connected to tv input nothing shows up in general settings for video out. Or anywhere else for that matter. I have tried many different TV's, sometimes I get audio but never never ever video . Does anyone else have this problem or better yet the answer?

And after doing a little head scratching of their own they decided to try another set of cables, and low and behold the darn thing worked like a charm.I was very impressed by the service at the apple store even though i didnt buy either product from them. I wonder if there is a bad batch of cables floating around out there because it looks like other people out there are having the same problem, which is why i didnt really suspect the cables. Will not work. To my knowledge, dual converting like that isn't supported. The Mac must detect the connected video output device and that sort of info cannot be done across an analog component uni-directional connection.
