How do I get rid of or reorganize duplicate nested bookmarks? I have multiple bookmark toolbars and bookmark menus!

In addition to the normal Bookmarks Menu and Bookmarks Toolbar, my Bookmarks Menu has its own Bookmarks Toolbar. I also have 3 nested bookmarks with the name “(No Title). One contains a Bookmarks Menu, one contains a Bookmarks Toolbar and the third contains what appears to be random bookmarks including one entry that reads “problem loading page.”
The Bookmarks Toolbar folder I save a Web page to, is "not" the folder I see on the visible Bookmarks Toolbar. So saving appears not to work.

There is no need to download anything to solve this problem.
You may have installed one or more of the common types of ad-injection malware. Follow the instructions on this Apple Support page to remove it. It's been reported that some variants of the "VSearch" malware block access to the page. If that happens, start in safe mode by holding down the shift key at the startup chime, then try again.
Back up all data before making any changes.
One of the steps in the article is to remove malicious Safari extensions. Do the equivalent in the Chrome and Firefox browsers, if you use either of those. If Safari crashes on launch, skip that step and come back to it after you've done everything else.
If you don't find any of the files or extensions listed, or if removing them doesn't stop the ad injection, ask for further instructions.
Make sure you don't repeat the mistake that led you to install the malware. It may have come from an Internet cesspit such as "Softonic" or "CNET Download." Never visit either of those sites again. You might also have downloaded it from an ad in a page on some other site. The ad would probably have included a large green button labeled "Download" or "Download Now" in white letters. The button is designed to confuse people who intend to download something else on the same page. If you ever download a file that isn't obviously what you expected, delete it immediately.

If the app is no longer installed on the iPad then you should get prompts about updates to it in the App Store app - as efectively there is nothing for it to update. If you are being prompted to download updates to them then are you sure that they are no longer on the iPad ?
If you are being prompted on your computer's iTunes then if you delete them for the App part of you computer's Library then you shouldn't be prompted about them.

Use Shift > View > Show Exact Duplicate Items to display duplicates as this is normally a more useful selection. You need to manually select all but one of each group to remove. Sorting the list by Date Added may make it easier to select the appropriate tracks, however this works best when performed immediately after the dupes have been created. If you have multiple entries in iTunes connected to the same file on the hard drive then don't send to the recycle bin. Use my DeDuper script if you're not sure, don't want to do it by hand, or want to preserve ratings, play counts and playlist membership. See thisthread for background and please take note of the warning tobackup your library before deduping.
(If you don't see the menu bar press ALT to show it temporarily or CTRL+B to keep it displayed)
Note if some of the duplicate items have the iCloud link icon sign out of the store, then sign in again.

This is what you do to correct this problem.
Corrupt files have nothing to do with where you purchased them. Files can be corrupted from an incomplete sync or an interrupted sync.
Restoring is how you get the corrupt files corrected. Have you tried restore as new?
How much "Other" do you have? A GB or so is not uncommon or an indication of an issue.

Help! How do I get rid of 10,000 duplicates???

PLEASE can anybody help me? Whenever I change computer, reload the operating system or load itunes updates I end up with SEVERAL THOUSAND duplicated items. Sometimes it is just two tracks per album, sometimes up to TWENTY or so. I have to go through hundreds of albums deleting these tracks manually. It takes hours!
Files are only saved once, and this also happens with newly recorded or downloaded tracks.
If I use the "show exact duplicates" it shows ALL the tracks I believe, not just the duplicates. So if for instance it shows say 4 tracks I have to go through and delete 3 - I cant simply do a "select all" and hit "delete". I have had a problem computer so I've had to reinstall Windows three times, now changed machine, so that's a fourth - and I think a couple of itunes updates along the way making it five or six times.
I'm suffering from RSI - of the wrists and the brain!
Am I doing something stupid here?

Hook your camera up again and import them into Aperture. Importing an iPhoto library is meant to be a *one shot* thing -- to get your Aperture library initialized with your existing photos. After that, there is no mechanism to synchronize libraries, as you should be using only one of these two applications.
The next thing I did was "import iPhoto library" and I checked do not "import duplicates" Well guess what? It did import duplicates so now I have all my pix doubled in Aperture, so instead of 5000 pictures that I had, I now have 10,000.
A lot of people have been writing about this. That "do not import duplicates" does seem to be a rather useless function. I'm not sure if something broke in a recent version of Aperture. You should definitely provide feedback to the Aperture team about your experience.
In any case, if you have your complete iPhoto library still (and it sounds like you do), then start a new Aperture library, and start the complete import process over again. Then, don't use iPhoto for anything while you are evaluating Aperture, or else you'll find yourself in the same problem.
