How do I get Safari 7 to open with my tabs restored from my previous session?

I have a new MacBook Air running Mavericks.  How do I get Safari to open with my previous tabs restored.  I used to be able to find an option in Preferences that said when you open a new window open with the tabs from my previous session.  That is no longer available to me.

I don't have that option in my general preferences. Even though I have Safari set to open with all windows from last session, it doesn't. I also think its very slow

Settings - general- reset- erase content and settings gets you back.

  • How do I get Safari to open with homepage

If I quit Safari with a single or multiple pages open, the next time I open Safari all the pages come back, the pages that were open when I quit the application.
Even though in preferences I have a homepage selected it doesn't seem to matter.

Hold down SHIFT when you click safari to open.

How do I get safari to open a pdf in the browser window. A while ago I turned it off by typing  defaults write com.apple.Safari WebKitOmitPDFSupport -boolean yes   into the terminal. Basically how do I undo that command

Then do a "get info" on it (Apple Key with the letter "i" key)
    Select the "Open With" Box
    Change it to "Preview"
Then select the box just beneath it
    "Change All."
This should set your PDF's to be read with Preview.

It may depend on the plugin that is loaded into your browser. However, right click on a PDF and select the Open With option and go to the default button to select Acrobat as the default. That might do it.

How do I get Safari to open first to a particular web site?

    Welcome to Apple Support Communities
You have to choose that site as the homepage. To do that, open Safari, go to Safari menu (on the menu bar) > Preferences > General, and change the homepage by the one you want, so every time you open Safari, that website will show

  • How do I get Safari to open in Preview?

I am using Safari 5.0.5; have downloaded Adobe latest version; checked on Adobe preferences/internet to use Adobe. But from Safari PDF files will not open. Get a black screen with no content. How do I get Preview to open PDFs from Safari and thereby avoid this problem. Interesting issue -- this only occurs on iMac with Snow Leopard; my MacBook Air, not using Snow Leopard, opens Adobe from Safari.

    Hi
If you want pdf's opening in Safari, using the built-in support (not Adobe) then quit open browsers, go to HD/Library/Internet Plug-Ins/ & remove any 'pdf' plugins. Occasionally, they're in Home/Library/Internet Plug-Ins/
If you really want Adobe to do it in browser, and the plugin is in place already - try opening Safari in 32 bit mode. Command-click it in the dock, then File-Get Info, & check the 32 bit box. Takes effect the next time Safari is started up.

  • Can't get safari to open with lion.  Any ideas?

Hi,  Have been struggling to with lion and safari.  Feel like I'm on a safari.  Can't get safari to open. When it does, crashes immediately.  Any ideas?

    Nasty.  I have some ideas:
Can you open Safari in a different user account? (that will help to determine if it is a corrupt install or something systemwide).
Do you have any 3rd party add-ons for Safari?  Try disabling them.

  • How do I get safari to open pop-ups in new tabs rather than in new windows?

Just recently I took my 13" MacBook Pro (Late 2010 Model) to my local Apple Store. When I brought it there they fixed my problem, but in the mean time they had to completely delete and uninstall Safari and Google Chrome off of my laptop. Before the apple store, my Safari would always open pop-ups and links in a new tab, now they open up in a new window. Does anyone know how to change it so they open in new tabs? The reason I need this changed is I might have unecessary websites open, and they would just be taking up space.
    Thanks for your help,
    –Dan

  • Can't get safari to open with home page

I have set google as my homepage in Preferences, but Safari invariably opens with the last page I had used before quitting.  I've tried both "Set as Current Page" (being on google, of course), as well as typing in google's URL.
    Any suggestions?
    Thanks.

Open a Finder window. From the Finder menu bar click Go > Go to Folder
Type or copy paste the following:
    ~/Library/Caches/com.apple.Safari/Cache.db
Click Go then move the Cache.db file to the Trash.
Quit and relaunch Safari to test.
If that didn't help, copy and paste the following:
    ~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.Safari.plist
Click Go then move the com.apple.Safari.plist file to the Trash
    Try resetting your home page.

Then do a "get info" on it (Apple Key with the letter "i" key)
    Select the "Open With" Box

  • How do I get Safari to open on a specific desktop by default?

I have recently upgraded to Mavericks, I have a TV display connected to my iMac which is not always switched on at the same time as my iMac (I use it for streaming onto a big screen). I have noticed that by default the Safari Application opens in 'Desktop 2' which is my TV display. Is there a way to open Safari on 'Desktop 1' (which is my iMac desktop) automatically? I understand that I could just unplug the HDMI from my iMac but this will become a hassle eventually. Also the TV is not directly next to my iMac so dragging windows from screen to screen can be awkward. So to clarify, my question is:
With my TV display connected, is there a way to open Safari on 'Desktop 1' (my iMac desktop) by default?

Wow, I dont have that option at all - nothing below the line under 'show in finder', what can I do?
My TV screen is definitely connected as I can mirror on/off and choose from Samsung/iMac.
    I've also tried:
    resetting the dock
    disconnecting the display
    google searching for answers

  • How do i get safari to open to home page

after update to Lion, whenever i open Safari, it opens to the last page or tabs viewed rather than my home page.  The only work around i've found is to close the browser windows before quitting.  By doing that, Safari will open in homepage.  If i just quit safari, it will not.

    Hello:
Go to system preferences>general.  Uncheck "restore windows when quitting and reopening apps."
Note that this is a global change - for Safari and everything else.
