How do I get song lyrics entered in the GetInfo song link to sync properly with my other devices?

I'm running iTunes on a Windows 7 machine, and sometimes the lyrics sync up properly and sometimes not; sometimes only on one device, and not the others. Syncing via wifi or manually, or from the computer based iTunes or from the actual device produces the same inconsistent results. Suggestions?

- You need at least iOS 2 for apps. Go to Settings>General>About>version to find the iOS version. If you have a 1G iPod you can get the last update for that model here:

You do not need to do anyhting.
You can sync as many devices as you like.

The lyrics are in iTunes. They do display on my iPod Touch 2g.
I did try a reset on the iPod Touch 4g, but did not fix problem.

The word "lyrics" is never displayed, but if you paste lyrics into a song, they'll be shown when you press the centre button "enough" times. Note that if there are _no lyrics_ associated with the song (because you didn't put them there) the "button pushes" will take you from On/Off (the shuffle feature) to Play - no mention of lyrics!

So I'm adding new songs to a very old playlist? Is there anyway that when I add them, they automatically go to top of playlist? How about getting one song to the top of a playlist. That drag to arrange function is very annoying because it is slow and the playlist does not scroll up very well on a PC.

Make a new playlist by pressing the little plus button at the very lower left corner of iTunes. An new playlist will appear in the Source pane called "untitled playlist". While the name is highlighted, you can change it to whatever you want. Drag all of the tracks from all the albums that comprise a single book to that playlist. Sync that playlist to your iPod.

It has always been very basic to always maintain a backup copy of your computer for this very occasion.
Use your backup copy to put everything back.
If for some reason you have failed to maintain a backup, not good, then you can transfer itunes purchases from your ipod: File>Transfer Purchases

Whichever of these retrieval methods you choose, keep your iPod in manual mode until you have reloaded your iTunes and you are happy with your playlists etc then it will be safe to return it auto-sync. I would also advise that you get yourself an external hard drive and back your stuff up, relying on an iPod as your sole backup is not a good idea and external drives are comparatively inexpensive these days, you can get loads of storage for a reasonable outlay.

If it is set to synchronise automatically you will get a message saying your iPod is linked to a different library and asking if you want to sync – it is important to press cancel as syncing with an empty library erases all music from your iPod.

You don't. Unless they were purchased from the iTunes store, then you can go to File > Transfer purchases. Or you can right click (ctrl click if you're on a Mac) on the name of the device in the source list in iTunes and then choose Transfer purchases.

and follow one of the "paths" to get what you need or to an Apple customer support employee. One path is to click Contact Support at the bottom of the list of choices, and use the Express Lane.
The iTunes app also has a way to report a problem with a purchase. Select iTunes Store in the sidebar (of the iTunes window). Toward the upper right corner, click on your Apple ID. This gets you to your Account Information screen. Find Purchase History and click See All. On that screen, you can select a specific purchase with that problem, and Report a Problem.
