How do I get the rectangle tool to draw in the color I've selected?

I'm quite new to indesign, so bear with me.
I've selected a color with the eyedropper tool, and once I am about to draw using the rectangle tool, the color switches to grayscale. How do I change this?

First thing to try is a reboot of your iPad. Press and hold the Home and Sleep buttons simultaneously ignoring the red slider until the Apple logo appears. Let go of the buttons and let the iPad restart. See if that fixes your problem.

Is it possible that you may have an Accessibility feature called "White on Black" turned on?

Use White on Black to invert the colors on the iPhone screen, which may make it easier to read the screen. When White on Black is turned on, the screen looks like a photographic negative.

To invoke the Force Quit window, press Command-Option-Escape.
If no joy, try holding down the Control key while you press the Eject key. This is supposed to bring up this dialog:
If no joy there, you may have to resort to holding the Power-On key until the machine shuts off. This may leave un-repaired Directory damage, so it is a good idea to hold down the Shift key when you Restart. This invokes Safe Mode, which takes five minutes to run one pass of Disk Utility (Repair Disk), then starts with minimal extensions loaded. You will need your username and password to log in, even if you normally auto-login.
Poke around a little, if all looks OK, you can restart in normal mode.

I have a drop-down list that the user can choose from. How do I get the value of what they selected? I thought I could do this by using the NAME_IN function, but I'm getting FRM-40105 Unable to resolve reference to item X. I don't know what I'm doing wrong.

You can use an WHEN-LIST-CHANGED trigger, attached to the list-item itself. And, in this trigger, you can use the name of the item to refer its value.
For example:
:block_name.list_item_name

First off thanks for your clear explanation. I have a few related questions as noted from your response:
There are two ways to communicate the desired model row between the UIX view and the struts controller. One way is to use the singleSelection component in your table and put your buttons in the singleSelection's contents.
When the user selects the radio button for a particular row and then clicks on one the buttons, a built in event handler in UIX will set the current row in the model to be the user selected row. Therefore, your Struts action can operate on the currently selected model row.
When you drop a UIX table from the data control palette it is automatically set up in this way (with a single selection).
Ok, Lets say that i've set everything up as you described. Not lets say that the button was pressed and I hit the overriddenprotected void processComponentEvents(DataActionContext actionContext) throws IOException, ServletException ;
When I look at the request object, I do not see the values. How do I get access to the rowkey at this point?
Some people, however, want to actually render buttons in their table rows, and have those buttons initiate an action on their row. If you are doing this, then you need to pass the row id to your struts action as a parameter, which means that you need to know the row id when you are rendering a button for a given row. There is an EL expression that will return the row-id for the current row, it is:

which is not so obvious or well documented in the preview release (sorry) but should be for the production release.
A generic code snippet would go a long way to shedding some light on that. I guess I am use to using JDeveloper 9.0.3. It seems,"to me", that JDev 9.0.5 has put a completely new twist on things. I find myself wondering when I can use the 9.0.3 syntax and when
should not. If your team has any short source toys around which demonstrated using rowkeys, or accessing the internal parts of the
struts controller, I would find that invaluable. It dose not matter if this information is documented.

ListView + MVVM: How do I get the value of a selected cell?

I love programming WPF using MVVM, but sometimes easy looking problems lead to unbearable suffering.
Here is my problem: I have a simple list view with about a couple of columns. All I want to do is to copy the cell content to clipboard, when the user right-clicks on a cell.

Without MVVM I probably would have used the some Click-Event and extract the info from the event args. But of course I don't want to break the MVVM pattern.
But if I use some kind of event binding I cannot find a way to retrieve event args or the sender object:

I'm not so sure about listview, I rarely use them for more complicated requirements.
I would use a datagrid.

How do I get the colors back in Itunes 12 sidebar icons

Hi. I have a hard time getting used to every new itunes version with the user interface getting harder and less friendly than the previous version, probably since itunes 8 or so. I NEED colorful icons to be able to differentiate what is what in the sidebar, and I have always found a work around, since they dropped the much loved colors, in exchange for increasingly monochrome, drab Gray. There is no differentiation even in the grey, no bold letters for titles, headings, album names etc. In iTunes 12 however I tried changing the itunes.rsrc file in this version and it really messed my itunes up, to the point where I had to trash it and start all over with new itunes. Does anyone know how to bring the colorful icons back in iTunes 12? This is ONE of the problems, search is not working right for me either for itunes 11 or 12. I would love it if Apple could give us the option of using old Itunes, such as 8 or something similar where everything was more clearly defined and intuitive, at least for me. Thanks!

How do I get the colored scrollbars back?

I recently upgraded to Lion 10.7.3 on the newest Mac Mini and found several features missing that I'd like working again..
I'm a webdesigner so need about 6 programs open at once and when they are all colored the same I can't tell one from the other any more when tiled one above the other.
I'd like to be able to change the colors of the toolbar or top of each program plus color the background of the scroll bars. I keep clicking on the wrong page when pages are tiled one on top of the other, as I can't see the edges of the scroll bars.
Is there a fix for this problem?

I upgraded from Tiger 10.4.11 to Lion 10.7.3 so there was a giant step into the dark ages. Hundreds of features that used to be available are no longer, plus a plethora of software that no longer works on Lion which was an enormous expense then having to deal with all the "new and improved" features -- all of this for the benefit of people using iphones, ipads, etc., I suppose. I spend at least 2 hours a day trying to find out how to get things to work. Not having Eudora available (which I used for research/color coded docs) was the biggest change. Now I have to duplicate everything in Text edit and resave (about 5,000 documents). There are multiple features not available in Mac Mail that I had in simple little Eudora also-- I just realized I can't change the subject line on mail I receive when the sender didn't properly label it.
Back to the side bar problem -- All pages in Tiger have a dark shadow between the edge of the page and the scroll bar. Lion has no shadow and it's very hard to determine the edge of the page when two pages are tiled one above the other. And Tiger had an Aqua blue scroll button -- easy to see. Lion's is light gray and not so noticeable. Everything is boring and drab in Lion.
When I have multiple docs open I need to be able to read them so I can read or copy from one to another, therefore mousing over them to see the contents is not an option.
Even this forum is a hair puller. I click on the View the full discussion link in the email and sign in but the forum software does not revert me to the discussion page. I have go go back and click on the "view the discussion" in the email again to find the right page in the forum. Apple needs to wise up and get it's act together.

How can I get the color and contrast on photos to appear the same in Organizer and Editor?

In PSE 10 (Windows 7), When I edit photos in the Editor and get them the way I want them, they appear considerably different when I send them back to the Organizer, both in color and contrast. Since I print from the Organizer, they appear in print as they are in the Oganizer, and it's not what I had in the Editor. I set the color the same in both Editor and Organizer from the Edit menu, but I still have the problem. Any assistance would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

How do I get the tag of a selected line in a tree control ?

I am running LabVIEW 7.1.
I want to be able to add a parent or sibling to a tree to a selected item in a tree.

The tag of the selected item is actually the output of the tree control itself. If you create an indicator from the tree control, you will get a duplicate tree control (indicator), but if you wire the output into a string indicator, the tag of the selected item will show up. You can an item to the tree by wiring the tree reference into an invoke node, calling the method "Edit Tree Items: Add Item", and wiring the output of the tree control (which will be the tag of the selected item) into the "Parent Tag" terminal. This method will only let you add a child to an item, you cannot add a parent or sibling. Items cannot have multiple parents, so it wouldn't make sense to add a parent; and to add a sibling for the selected item, you could call the method "Navigate Tree: Get Parent" and pass the tag of the parent into the "Edit Tree Items: Add Item" method.

How can I get the tab key to select text fields only?

Since upgrading to Firefox 4 on Windows, the tab key functions differently. How do I change it so that it only selects text input fields?

The answer is: The bug is in the UI. Speech recognition was enabled, by default it uses the bare escape key as a "mic on" indicator, and it does not leave any trace in the keybord configuration. So that is the bug. It needs to leave a trace there, a la: "X Listen-for-voice-command ^" under Mission Control.

How do I get the color of the address, in the address box, to be all black on white, and not part of it to be gray on white, and part to be black on white?

Right now, the address line in my address box, at the top of the page, begins "https://support", all in light gray, followed by "mozilla.com", in black, followed by "/en-US/questions/new?product=.......etc.", all in light gray on a white backround, so it is almost unreadable. Why did this start happening, and how do I change this, so that the address is all black on white, and not half gray and half black?

You can set the pref browser.urlbar.formatting.enabled to false on the about:config page.
To open the about:config page, type about:config in the location (address) bar and press the "Enter" key, just like you type the url of a website to open a website. 
If you see a warning then you can confirm that you want to access that page. 
*Use the Filter bar at to top of the about:config page to locate a preference more easily.
*Preferences that have been modified show as bold(user set).
*Preferences can be reset to the default or changed via the right-click context menu.

Whenever I select a color in Photoshop, there is an error icon and it comes out gray. How can I get the colors to work?

Trying to select green, but it defaults to gray and has the error symbol. What gives?
When I go to my channels, Gray is the only option, and if I try to add another channel, it fills black.

A lot more information about your hardware and software is needed.

My bookmarks are black, they used to be colored websites. How do I get the sites back?

MacBookPro, OS x Lion 10.7.5. My bookmarks are black. They used to be colored web pages. How so I get the color back? I have the lists of my bookmarks but it's a hassle to go through that list each time I want to go to a bookmark, especially since being used to the nice color sites.

Why not use Top Sites? A perfect example of what it was designed for.
