How do I import an iPhoto Library (V.7.1.5) created on my old MacBook (10. 6.8) into my new Macbook pro (10.9.1) running iPhoto 9.5.1? I tried copying onto memory stick and moving to new mac, but new iPhoto doesn't recognise the library.

So what exactly did you copy over? If it's a 12 gig iPhoto Library then it sounds like the files are there. Perhaps the copy went wrong along the way.
Option 1
Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Choose to Repair Database. If that doesn't help, then try again, this time using Rebuild Database.
If that fails:
Option 2
Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. (In early versions of Library Manager it's the File -> Rebuild command. In later versions it's under the Library menu.)
This will create an entirely new library. It will then copy (or try to) your photos and all the associated metadata and versions to this new Library, and arrange it as close as it can to what you had in the damaged Library. It does this based on information it finds in the iPhoto sharing mechanism - but that means that things not shared won't be there, so no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your events, albums and keywords, faces and places back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one.

I've installed iTunes 10.2.1 but my computer doesn't recognise the hardware certificate and denies it, and the installation isn't complete. This results in my iPod being unrecognised and so, it cant synchronize with iTunes. Please help me! My system is a Windows XP.
Malware can cause digital signing issues, I would run a malware check with the free version of MalwareBytes:
http://www.malwarebytes.org/
After that, the is a Microsoft fixit for:
The software you are installing has not passed Windows Logo testing to verify its compatibility with Windows XP. (Tell me why this testing is important.)
This software will not be installed. Contact your system administrator.

It might be worth trying it. -
I can't connect my mac to my TV, I have the right cables and have done it right but I still doesn't get the macscreen on the Tv, what should I do?
What are you getting on the TV? Are you getting a completely blank screen, or are you getting a message similar to 'no input detected'? Or are you seeing the spiral galaxy desktop? If you go into System Preferences -> Displays then do you have an 'Arrangements' tab?

Can i move my songs onto memory stick and then back after work on computer is finished
can i move itunes library onto a memory stick while work is being done on computer and then return them after, thanks
Sure... you can backup your data to a memory stick, a USB drive, a NAS, or any other backup source you like.
But do not simply move the songs, grab the ENTIRE iTunes folder so that the iTunesLibrary.itl file is captured as well. Without that file, you essentially start over with playlist, playcounts, and library layout. -
I have a friend that I use to be able to imessage with. We havent talked in a long time. Now when I send message from all my devices it will not send. Did he block me? Or is there another reason it wont send.
Have you tried calling or sending a letter? Keep it simple, "i haven't been able to reach you in a while, and wanted to see if your OK." Who knows maybe he's thinking if you blocked him. And if he is blocking you, don't waste a moments more time on him.

IPod doesn't recognise the library it's synced with
I'm not sure since when precisely, but very recently my iPod has stopped being synced with my Mac. "Sync Music", for example, is no longer selected, and when I do select it, I get warned that everything will be removed from the iPod and replaced with songs from my library.
The thing is, except for updates from Apple, nothing has changed with either my Mac or my iPod since it last worked.
I've only got USB 1.1 so I really don't want to have to put everything that's already on the iPod back on there! Any ideas, please...?
Cheers!

How do I copy my old xl files from my XP machine to operate on xl for Mac on my new iMac. When I copy them onto a stick and transfer them it automatically makes them xls files which are then corrupted when I try to open them in xl for mac
Sorry, yes this is Microsoft Excel. The Microsoft XP has Excel files denoted as xl, the later versions of Microsoft Excel are denoted as xls files. The later verions of Microsoft Excel open the xl files OK, does Excel for Mac not able to do this?

I have videos saved on my memory stick and I-photo however i want to import them into I-movie how do i convert them?
Hi,
If you have the newest version of iPhoto and iMovie, you can access your iPhoto videos in iMovie directly.
On your iMovie, after creating a new project, on the bottom left hand corner, expand your Hard Drive (Macintosh HD), and then click on "iPhoto Videos."
You can use those clicps by dragging them right into your project on the upper left hand corner and use them.
However, if the videos you took on your camera are not supported by iPhoto, then you'll need some third-party software to help you convert them.

I want to sync tasks in Outlook with my iPhone. I have tried Toodledo (not good) and Todo. Todo works, but it cuts off most of the text. I only get the beginning of my (long) lists. Any ideas how I can solve this problem? I starting to regret that I switched to iPhone...
Usually if you have some kind of hardware failure there is some beeping during POST or most motherboards now have LED indicators to produce and error message based on the type of failure
So if its bad memory, not place properly, mismatched, processor not inserted properly, mismatched voltage or voltage connector not present etc it beeps or generates the error id.
Power supplies can be tested for failure. There are some walk throughs for testing just them with a switch, paperclip or a jumper (I'd suggest not doing this if you are not familiar with the dangers of electricity).
Memory can be tested with memory diagnostics programs like Memtest+
Processors can overheat if the proper precautions have not been taken usually you will get a POST beep or error code for that.
If the motherboard has no response then do the basics first:
Check power connectors and power supply. Once you determine that is not the case move on to other items like graphics cards in all the way or memory. -
Is there a problem with USB Memory Sticks and OSX?
This may not be the correct forum for this question but I don't know where else to ask!
I am having problems with a 64GB USB Memory Stick. Acrobat Reader can't read a pdf file on the memory stick but no problem from the hard drive. Acrobat Reader won't work from the memory stick. Music files (aif) won't play from the memory stick.
The memory stick came formatted for MS-DOS but I re-formatted it to MAC-OS Extended. I can write files to it but they don't seem to work from there. Is there some incompatability with OSX that I am not aware of? I would welcome some advice.MAke sure the drive is inserted and mounted, then launch Terminal from /Applications/Utilities. Type:
mount
and hit Enter.
One of the lines returned will contain the words, "/Volumes/<name of your flash drive>". Copy that whole line and paste it here so we can see what's up. -
HELP - I deleted an adobe file that I saved to a memory stick and I need it back really badly
Try this Google search:
http://www.google.cl/#hl=es&tbo=d&sclient=psy-ab&q=free+data+recovery+software+for+flash+d rives&oq=recovery+software+for+flash+drives&gs_l=hp.1.3.0i30j0i5i30l3.9708.24161.0.34539.3 4.26.0.8.8.0.378.7320.2-21j5.26.0...0.0...1c.1.lb0o4diaEEU&pbx=1&bav=on.2,or.r_gc.r_pw.r_q f.&bvm=bv.1355534169,d.eWU&fp=ff7a879957bf69ba&bpcl=40096503&biw=1112&bih=865
It gave me plenty of hits, but be a little careful. I would suggest using the free trial of one of the paid products. As I have never used one, I cnnot recommand any.
And remeber: every time you write something on that flash drive, you risk overwriting your lost file, thus decreasing your chances of recovering it. -
I go onto ordinary websites and then all of a sudden this grey box appears on the middle of my screen, then it automatically restarts my computer. I am not really sure what to do and how to get it fixed. Any help would be great. Thanks
what does the box say? Is is a black box with grey writing?

I have photos on a cd which I'm trying to open . If I click on them I can see the picture in the preview, but when I double click it doesn't recognise the picture. They are all in .jpg format. Tried copying them but it said some data cannot be read. The files exist but I just can't seem to view them
Select one and hit the Space bar to view it in QuickLook. Use the forward arrow keys to move from file to file. If the file can't be viewed in the QuickLook mode then the file is damaged and probably can't be copied or moved.
You could try a photo file recovery application like MediaRECOVER which can scan the memory card and tell you what files, if any, can be recovered before you have to purchase it.
