How do I install a Canon driver?

Hi, I'm new to Mac and I just bought a MacBook Pro with Tiger installed and with the Leopard upgrade disc included. I have a Canon MF4120 connected via USB, downloaded a Canon UFR II Printer Driver v1.50 for Macintosh and it appears in my Downloads folder as o734enx.sit file.
How do I install it? When I try through preferences menu, thid file is greyed and can't be choosen.
Thanks for any help!

The .sit is a stuffit archive. You can get a free version of Stuffit Expander, which will unpack this file.

Or you can download a disk image (dmg) version from here

  • How do i install sata hard drive?

ok, i am using right now my sony dvdrw on ide1 as master and ata hard drive on ide2 as master, booting to the hard drive. i am going to install an sata hard drive and use that as the boot drive, the normal ata as a storage drive only. how will i install the sata drive? do i install it to sata 1 and then durring the install of windows xp tell it to hit f6 for third party scsi drivers and then use the intel sata floppy driver disk that came with my board? it's the MSI-6728 board. or is there anything special i need to do in the bios or what?
oh yeah. what connection for power should i use? my powersupply has sata and normal, so should i use the sata power connector? and then what's this about legacy or something in the bios, or am i wrong?

Well first of all, you dont install the Intel S-ATA Driver Disc unless you are going to create a RAID Array....Go into the BIOS and on the "On-Chip IDE Configuration" Page Set the Options like this.........
On-Chip ATA Operate Mode : Legacy
    ATA Configuration : P-ATA+S-ATA
Keep S-ATA Enabled : (Greyed Out Yes)
Keep P-ATA Enabled : (Greyed Out Yes)
    P-ATA Channel Selection : Both
Combined Mode Operation (At first you have to set this to P-ATA Channel 1, then switch after you Move Windows to S-ATA)
Configure S-ATA As RAID : No
Then you are Going to have to Install the OS on The SATA and Just Move the Files that you want to save from the P-ATA HDD and then Remove the P-ATA Drive from the "Boot Device" List in the BIOS....
You really should List Your Full System Specs. When you POST...Create a "Signature" with your Forum User Control Panel...........Sean REILLY875

Tried installing Illustrator CC but ran out of disk space on primary drive... how can I install on secondary drive?

Run_Esperanza how much space do you still have available on your primary drive?  It is possible to customize the installation destination within the Creative Cloud Desktop application.  You can find more details at Install and update apps - https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/help/install-apps.html.
Please be aware that you will need disk space on the primary drive to installed shared components plus contain the temporary files for installation.

  • How do I install Printer Canon MF6550?

    Hello,
I'm trying to install the Canon MF6550 and I can not get it to print. When I go to add a printer "Canon MF6500 Series (UFRII LT)" shows up. I select it and then go to "select printer software" and select "Canon MF6500 Series UFRII LT (US)" but when I go ahead and try to print I get this message "Cannot communicate with the printer, or the printer is not supported, check the printer connection and add it again. Then, if the print dialog box has a printer info button, acquire the printer information: 10322"
I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong. Any advice would be great.
    Thank you so much,
    Anna

Hello Anna and welcome to Apple Discussions.
The UFR II driver used by the Canon MF series requires bi-directional communication. This is usually no issue with the printer connected directly to the Mac via USB cable, however if the printer was connected to some other device, such as a wireless router, a USB print server or even another computer and shared, then the driver is unable to function correctly and shows the error you are currently getting. If you do have the printer connected directly to the Mac via a USB cable then the cable may have a fault and is stopping the communication with the printer.
Also, not sure if this model supports Ethernet connections, but if it is connected via Ethernet to your Mac then there could be a problem with firewall settings or port filtering.
Can you reply with how you have the printer connected to your Mac.

  • How do I install on a drive other than C

The download manager does not give me an option to install the programs it just installs on the c drive which on my computer is nearly full
so the install is aborted.  How can I get the programs to install on my drive D.

    Hi,
    Try the following:
    1) Open Adobe Application Manager thogh shortcut on desktop or start menu on win and Alias under /Applications on mac. Now follow these steps:
    2) On the top left hand corner of Adobe Application Manager, your name would be there with a down arrow tip. Click on it.
    3) In the drop down menu, click on preferences.
    3) In the Install Location, click on folder icon next to it.
    4) Choose a folder in D: (Installing directly to root drive is not supported.)
Also, Please note that you still need ~ 1.5 GB hard disk space on the C: for shared components that always go on the boot drive.

    or
Removing and reinstalling iTunes and other software components for Windows Vista, Windows 7, or Windows 8
However, after your remove the Apple software components also remove the iCloud Control Panel via Windows Programs and Features app in the Window Control Panel. Then reinstall all the Apple software components

  • How do I install a SSD drive - the Bios does not allow changing to AHCI mode

I have a Windows 7, HP ENVY approx 1.5 years old.  I want to install an SSD drive, however the BIOS seems to be locked, or does not include options to change the SATA connection to AHCI or RAID.
How does one unlock the BIOS, or change the sata settings to allow an SSD drive to be installed?

    Hi:
AHCI is enabled by default on today's HP consumer notebooks.
Nothing can be done to actually see a setting, or change the setting to anything other than AHCI etc.

  • How do I Install an .sys driver file on windows 8.1?

I brought a pci-e laptop graphics card adapter of the internet and it requires me to install the graphics card driver software but I firstly have to install a vgapnp.sys driver file but I dont know how?

    Hi Willimo,
The main issue is to install the graphic driver software ,right ?
There are two ways to get the driver, automatically update from the windows update or manually download the driver from the manufacturer website and install it from the device manager.

  • How do I install the jdbc driver for sql server 2005, in sql developer 4.0 ?

    Hallo together
I need access to tables in a MS SQL Server 2005 database.
One possibility is the JDBC driver.
How do i install this driver ?
Thank you very much for your postings.

    Hi,
This is from the documentation -
    Database: Third Party JDBC Drivers
The Third Party JDBC Drivers pane specifies drivers to be used for connections to third-party (non-Oracle) databases, such as IBM DB2, MySQL, Microsoft SQL Server, or Sybase Adaptive Server. (You do not need to add a driver for connections to Microsoft Access databases.) To add a driver, click Add Entry and select the path for the driver:
For Microsoft SQL Server or Sybase Adaptive Server: jtds-1.2.jar, which is included in the jtds-1.2-dist.zip download
To find a specific third-party JDBC driver, see the appropriate website (for example, http://www.mysql.com for the MySQL Connector/J JDBC driver for MySQL, http://jtds.sourceforge.net/ for the jTDS driver for Microsoft SQL Server and Sybase Adaptive Server, or search at http://www.teradata.com/ for the JDBC driver for Teradata). For MySQL, use the MySQL 5.0 driver, not 5.1 or later, with SQL Developer release 1.5.
You must specify a third-party JDBC driver or install a driver using the Check for Updates feature before you can create a database connection to a third-party database of that associated type. (See the tabs for creating connections to third-party databases in the Create/Edit/Select Database Connection dialog box.)
    Alternative:
As an alternative to using this preference, you can click Help, then Check for Updates to install the JTDS JDBC Driver for Microsoft SQL Server and the MySQL JDBE Driver as extensions.
    Regards,
    Mike

  • How do I install updated Flash drive? It seems to require OSX 12.

How do I install the latest version of Adobe Flash Drive ??  It seems to require a12.1 version and I have a 10.68.  How do I expand to a 12.1 ??

First, you have posted in a PPC forum, but your profile shows you have Snow Leopard installed. That requires an Intel Mac.
If you have a PPC then you cannot upgrade Adobe Flash from where you are. If you have an Intel Mac you will have to upgrade to Adobe Flash Player 12.0.0.77.

  • How do i install the newest driver for audigy 2 z

i downloaded the newest driver and tryed to install it. it says "setup did not detect the set of required compents you have. setup wil now exit" what do i need to install the latest and greatest dri've other than the card itself?

I had the exact same problem updating the drivers for my Audigy 2 Platinum EX, but I think I managed to solve the problem. This was quite awhile ago, but I think I remember how I got it to work.
First of all, which update did you download? The "Digital Rights Management" driver update was the one giving me that problem, and this was after installing the main drivers and programs from my Audigy 2 CD. But, I think the reason why it gives this message is because you need to install one of the other driver updates first, then install this DRM update. Look under the driver details and it says the following:
    "<EM>Requirements</EM>:
Microsoft? Windows? XP Service Pack 2 or Windows 2000 Service Pack 4 </LI>
Creative Sound Blaster Audigy 2 or Audigy 2 ZS series internal audio device </LI>
<EM>EAX 4.0 ADVANCED HD Driver Patch Update for Sound Blaster Audigy 2 and Audigy 2 ZS (released on 29 March, 2004) installed, or Sound Blaster Audigy 2 and Audigy 2 ZS Driver Update (released on 29 July, 2004) installed</EM>."</LI>
Strangely enough, it appears this update requires you install an older driver update first (EAX4DRV_AUDIGY2__84_50.exe) then afterwards try running the Digital Rights Management update.
I think this is right, but I'm not 00% sure.

  • Lost-how do you install x-fi driver for arch 32bit

k,  i have tried installing the linux x-fi driver for my sound card... but im sorta having trouble installing the driver.
i sorta find the instructions arch wiki to install the driver confusing... how do you install it? im really lost, and im very new to linux.... but i do got computer smarts...

The wiki page (http://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/HCL/Sound_Cards) doesn't cover installing drivers for creative soundcards as such. They should be installed automatically. However it doesn't mention the x-fi at all. I am not sure what the procedure is for your card. Are you sure it hasn't been autodetected? Also you should read this article if you haven't already. • Word crashes when I try to save after installing the Canon driver.

I have Windows Vista running Microsoft Office 2007.  Word was working just fine until I installed the Canon MX432 driver. Now every time I try to save a document, Word crashes.  I have tried to repair Office.  I have uninstalled and reinstalled the Office program.  I have closed the Canon solutions menu on the desktop.  Nothing works.  Any suggestions?

I love these stab in the dark solutions (on my part)...here goes...
If I were you, I'd try changing the printer default to something other than the MX432 just in case Word doesn't like the new printer.  If that solves the crashing problem, try to  reinstall the driver again before setting the printer default to the MX432.  Are you sure you've got the driver that is compatible with Vista?  Vista is finicky when it comes to drivers.
If that doesn't work at all, I'd do a driver uninstall then a system restore to before the install.  This will put everything back to when it was hunky dory, as they say.  G'luck.

  • How do I install a printer driver, without the printer?

You see, I don't want to print anything.
I am using some CAD software and I use the “create PDF” function of the printer dialogue to make a PDF.  The problem is my drawing is quite large so I need to install a printer driver for a printer that handles larger paper (Epson 1280).  I have the driver, but it refuses to install without the printer being attached to it.

    I didn't post one.

  • How can I install to a drive other than C?

I installed the CS6 Master Collection trial version. During the installation, I specified a destination folder on my D: drive (C: is a small SSD drive meant to hold only Windows).
For the 32-bit versions of the programs, the shortcuts created in the Start Menu point to the D: location I specified during installation, but clicking on them gets me a "file not found" error, because the actual programs were placed on the C: drive. They work if I copy the installed Adobe folder and its full contents over to the appropriate D: location.
The 64-bit versions are a different mess: Unlike with the 32-bit versions, the installer placed the 64-bit versions of the programs in the specified D: drive folder, but when I attempt to start the programs, I get the "Configuration Error: Please uninstall and reinstall the program; Error: 1" message. Presumably this is because some of the configuration files or settings the programs are looking for are actually pointing to locations on the C: drive, where the installer put them despite my directions. But I have no idea which files or settings they are, or how to find them.
How can I fix these configuration errors and get the 64-bit versions working?
If anyone from Adobe sees this, can you please fix the installer so that it installs the ENTIRE package where I specified, and that all the various pieces installed know where the rest of the pieces are in a non-C drive installation?
    My system:
    Windows 7 SP1
    Intel Core i7, 8GB RAM
C drive: 60GB SSD (Windows system files)
D drive: 1TB HDD (All other programs and files, including my Windows User folders)

Yes, I have redirected my User folder to the D: drive.
I know that some shared components must reside on the C: drive; that's fine. I just don't have room for the entire installation on there.
The real issue here is that, when a drive other than C: is selected as the destination, the CS6 package installs into a broken state every time, out of the gate, on my system. Some components get installed to D: and some to C:, but the various components of the programs seem confused about what exists where, as shown below:
I select a folder on D: as the destination folder for the install, and here is what I get:
64-bit versions of the package -- Program files are installed to the D: drive as specified, but attempting to start them results in a configuration error message stating that the program must be uninstalled and reinstalled, and lists "Error code: 1".
32-bit versions of the package -- Program files are installed to the C: drive against what I specified. The shortcuts installed in the Start menu for the 32-bit versions point to the locations where these program files SHOULD be, on the D: drive. If the Adobe folder containing the program files is copied over to the correct location on D:, these programs function normally with no errors.
I have the 32-bit versions working by copying the program files from C: to D:. I just want to get the 64-bit versions working as well.
Any help you could give would be greatly appreciated; I'm really looking forward to testing the CS6 suite on my system!
