How do I install Adobe Photoshop Elements 12 on new MacBook Pro without DVD drive?

I just purchased my first MacBook Pro and am trying to get everything set up and installed. I purchased Adobe Photoshop Elements 12 and retrieved my serial number and have the redemption code -- but I can't figure out how to install Photoshop without a DVD drive. The Photoshop package I purchased only provides DVDs and I don't have a DVD drive. Is there a website I can go to to install Photoshop and enter my serial number or redemption code?

Have you tried downloading the trial version and using your serial
number to activate it?
The trial version is a complete product and can be activated by
inserting the valid serial number.
Good luck.

        Quit Safari.
        Restart computer. Relaunch Safari.
    2.  Enable Plug-ins
        Safari > Preferences > Security
        Internet Plug-ins >  "Allow  plug-ins"
        Enable it.

The following may help you understand about deleting photos from a library:
Deleting Photos from an iPhoto Library:
1 - from an Event or the Photos mode: select the photo(s) and use the Delete key to move the photos to the trash bin. Then empty the iPhoto Trash bin as follows:
2 - from an album, smart album, book, slideshow, card, etc.: select the photo(s) and use the key combination of Command+Option+Delete to move the photos to the trash bin.  Then empty the trash bin as above.
NOTE: deleting a photo from an album, slideshow, book, etc., with only the Delete key only deletes that photo from that item. Deleting a photo from an Event deletes ALL occurences of that photo in the library.

How to re-install Adobe Photoshop in my new computer?

Install it the same way you originally installed it.  If you need to download the installations files or get your serial number you should check your Adobe account online.
You can also find a good amount of Adobe files downloadable thru the following page...

If you happen to know the version you need, a more direct link to download it might be available.

  • Does Adobe Photoshop Elements work with MacBook Pro with Retina display?

Does Adobe Photoshop Elements work with MacBook Pro with Retina display, please?
Have searched Adobe website for answer - most recent is 2013 answer, saying no.
Contradicted by a staff ember who only referred to Photoshop, not Elements.
Reason I need it is that iPhoto does not support very high resolution photos - which I have now scanned onto my MacBook and do not want to re-scan!! After 90 minutes at my local Genius bar (lovely folk, very conscientiously searching for an answer...), re-scanning was their final piece of advice.
    Help, please...

    Hello Smis,
Welcome to the HP Forums, I hope you enjoy your experience! To help you get the most out of the HP Forums I would like to direct your attention to the HP Forums Guide First Time Here? Learn How to Post and More.
I understand you are having issues with your HP Monitor on your MAC. I am providing you with an HP Support document: Updating a Monitor Driver, where it states under the sub-heading Using HP monitors on a Mac "HP monitors are not supported in a Mac environment. However, newer Macs use graphics with VESA modes and can display to most HP LCD monitors. To do this, connect the monitor to the Mac while the Mac is off, and then turn on the MAC. The monitor should operate at 60Hz. The INF and software for the HP monitor are for Microsoft Windows and cannot be run in a standard MAC OS environment."
This being said all I can advise is that you check to see that the monitor is set to operat at 60Hz and contact Apple for assistance if that does not get your monitor displaying correctly.
I hope I have answered your question to your satisfaction. Thank you for posting on the HP Forums. Have a great day!

How can I install Snow Leopard on my 15" MacBook Pro without using its DVD drive?

I'm assuming your dvd drive is broken? if you have a thumb drive large enough (8GB or better), you can use another computer to make a bootable image from the install dvd to the thumb drive. then you can install from the the thumb drive.

  • Installing Adobe Photoshop Elements 11 on MacBook Air

I'm trying to install Adobe Photoshop Elements 11 on my new MacBook Air, but have no cd drive. Is there a way to download this without a cd drive?

Trials of almost all software are available for download from the manufacturer's website. That's one of the reasons that the MacBook Air has no DVD drive.
Invariably the website trials are more up to date than the physical disk so you often don't have to install updates after the initial install.
Visit the website and follow the links. Or just use Google to find it.

  • Installing Adobe Photo Elements on a MacBook Pro.

I am trying to install Adobe Photoshop Elements 2.0. When it tries to install it gives an error that says that it can't find the "Classic Environment". The install manual says to go to System Preferences and select a classic environment which is not there. It does finish installing, but when I try to run it it puts the splash screen up and then a window came up saying that an unrecoverable error has occurred. Will this app run on my system? If not how do I uninstall it. Some of the posts said you can not drag the app folder to the trash. I tried to drag it to the trash, but I noticed that with a terminal up there is still a PSE directory under "/".

    Kappy wrote:
That version is incompatible with Leopard. You need a much newer version. The current version is 6.0, but 4.0 should work OK.
I just bought a "brand new" copy of Adobe Photo Shop Elements - thanks to the wonderful folks at Amazon - only to discover that it /may/ be Version 6, but the files apparently date back to March 2008. (This is what you'll find if you open up some folders on the DVD, and take a look at the dates.) But it is now November 2008, some 8 months later. Did I buy a very old version of Elements 6?
Anyway, I haven't been able to install it on my Mac mini running OS X 10.5.4 so I naturally have to wonder if I am doing something wrong.
Whenver I attempt installing it, I get the message to call Technical Support at Adobe.
Are you sure that Adobe Photo Shop Elements 6 will run on a Mac mini running OS X 10.5.4?
Also, the instructions say you aren't supposed to uninstall Elements 6 by drag the icons (yes, two or more Photo Shop Elements icons appear on the bottom toolbar when installing) to the trashcan, but I naturally assume they mean, once Elements has been successfully installed.
If the installation process aborts with a request that you call Technical Support at Adobe, is it okay to
uninstall a partially installed app by dragging the icons over to the trashcan?

  • How can I install Adobe Photoshop Elements Update 9.0.3 after I get a message that Installation has failed and the solution is not in troubleshooting or forums?

My Photoshop Elements 9 stopped working a couple of weeks ago. When I clicked the PSE button nothing happened. I tried this several times over a few days and it still failed. I uninstalled the program and re-installed it. It worked well. Then I tried to install the Update 9.0.3. The download was almost successful. When it was about to show 100% successful for the download, an error message said the installation had failed and that I should try later. I tried this many times over a few days and the same result occurred. I tried troubleshooting and the answers to questions, but I could not find an answer. I don't know where to go to see if anybody has answered my question. How can I install Update 9.0.3?

Try downloading and installing the 9.0.3 updater from here:

  • I have a new iMac i want to install adobe photoshop elements 10, I only have the DVDs.  Is there another way of installing this software?

I have just bought the latest 27 inch imac.  I tried to install my adobe photoshop elements 10 dvd and found no drive.  Is there any other way to install this software onto the computer? It is already installed on my macbook pro, is there an option to transfer the files?

No I meant to "borrow" the other Mac's optical drive, with the new Mac as the Target. cornelius puts it succinctly here, except we're not talking about a Mac with a broken drive. And you would select the Adobe DVD, not the "install disc."
I suggest that you get a firewire cable. Then boot the computer with the working optical drive into Firewire Target Disk Mode, startup the computer with the broken drive and hold down the Option key. Then select the install disk as boot and startup and proceed with installation.

Actually, I think cornelius's post isn't exactly what's required, but I think you get the idea.

  • How do I install Adobe Photoshop in a new computer? I've had CS5 a few years ago in another laptop.

Basically I got the student version of Adobe Creative Suite 5 back in high school. I'm now in college (still a student!) but I used my high school email to register the product. I deactivated the adobe photoshop in the old computer and have the serial number, but because my old high school already deleted my school email, I can't access my adobe ID anymore (I forgot it). I can't install Photoshop into my new computer without my Adobe ID. What should I do??

    Hi,
Thanks for the reply. However, I'm really, really frustrated. The link works for the recommended program but it has a transfer limit of 100 files. I've spent literally hours trying to find genuine freeware to do the job rather than paying $25 for a one-off program that I'll never use again. Is there are any reliable freeware out there that does the job? To be honest money is very tight at the moment and spending $25 for a program I'll never use again is something I could do without!
