How do I install software from a disc on to the new Macbook Pro?

I recently purchased the new Macbook Pro Retina Display, which I love.  But just went to install my Photoshop CS5 and realised there's no disc option.  What do I do?

Buy ANY External DVD drive that connect to a USB port. Like this one.

  • How do i transfer data from my old imac to my new macbook pro?, how do i transfer data from my old imac to my new macbook pro?

HOW DO I TRANSFER DATA FROM MY IMAC TO MY NEW MACBOOK PRO? I tried it with an ethernet cable and it seems to go OK till it gets to applications. From there the time it takes to complete seems to increase rather than decrease!

That's the easiest way, this side of using Time Machine. The time it takes to transfer files between our computers ka vary but while doing it on my MBP I had to leave it plugged in for near 24 hours and it was supposed to take 3.

    phone?  An iPhone ??
If it's an iPhone, you can transfer iTunes purchases from the iPhone to the Mac using iTunes.
You probably have to authorize the Mac before doing so.

  • How do I transfer music from my iPhone 4 to my new MacBook Pro

I just got a new 15 inch MacBook Pro for my birthday, and I want to transfer my music from my iPhone 4 to my iTunes on my new MacBook Pro. I have already downloaded an app called diskaid and another one called tuneaid but neither of those worked. Is there a free and easy way to do this? Please help!
    Thanks,
    Becca

He probably bought the music directly on his iPhone. If thats the case, just set up your account and phone on that computer then transfer your purchases over to that computer. If you bought from a separate computer, you'll need to transfer from that computer to the new one, like a brody said above.

  • How do i migrate software from my G5 power mac to my macbook pro as when using migration assistant it deems the OS X 10.5.8 on my G5 too old for migration, how can i migrate?

I can't migrate my software help!

Put your data (the Home folder) onto an external USB drive, then restore files from it on the MBP. Do not restore the /Home/Library/ folder in its entirety. All you would need are the Application Support folders for your compatible or upgraded applications and the preference files for those applications.

  • How do I set up an external MIDI input on the new MacBook Pro? Mine won't read it.

I've been trying to set up my TASCAM US-600 on my new MacBook. I've never used a Mac before so I'm not sure what's wrong. I tried installing the drivers and when I plugged in the interface, it wouldn't read the device. I now have the interface plugged in through a USB hub. The Mac now reads TASCAM software but when I go to the system preferences, the Mac won't read the MIDI input. So all in all it's been a big pain in the ***. Are there any Mac experts that may know what the problem is or how to help? Thanks!

are you sure its mini display port? MDP and thunderbolt are the same port.
for referenece, this is mini DVI (obsolete)

  • How do I transfer photos from my external HD to my new MacBook Pro?

I can't find the photos in my HD but I used Time Machine so they have to be there somewhere... All I can find is under Users --> Pictures --> iPhoto Library, which I can't upload/import into my new iPhoto. (I used to use a regular MacBook and now I'm on a MacBook Pro, so it should be compatible...)

If you used TM to backup your iPhoto library you must us TM to restore it to the pictures folder and launch iPhoto
If you simply copied it to the EHD then just copy it back to the pictures folder and launch iPhoto

  • From what I've read the new Macbook Pros do not recognize a line-in through the headphone jack. I want to record my guitar on GarageBand without using the built in mic. Any advice?

I have all the adapters and stuff like that, I have recorded a lot of things on audacity on my p.c. For $2500 you would think they would have at least kept the input through the headphone jack feature in this mac. I am using an acoustic and an eletric guitar and I don't want to spend more than about $20 to resolve this.

I had a fast tracks usb and it worked great and at $99 it is well worth it. But if you plan on recording vocal and guitar you will need a XLR plug on your mic because it only has two inputs 1/4 and XLR.
Also you don't need a multichannel interface to record multiple tracks, only multiple tracks at the same time.
If your doing all the instruments yourself the fast track or fast track pro may be a good idea for now and then when you need it upgrade to a more expensive firewire interface.
And make sure whatever you get will work with your intel mac.
I just read some of the negative comments about the fast track usb. I don't think some of these people know what there doing. Comments like it only records on the left channel shows user error.

  • HT1349 How do I go about installing software from a disc onto my ipad2? I have no external drive, but do have a PC with iTunes on it. Someone suggested I could load it into iTunes and then sync with the iPad, but this suggestion doesn't seem to work.

How do I go about installing software from a disc (a language programme) onto my ipad2? Someone told me if I downloaded it to iTunes on my PC I could then sync it to the iPad but hav not been able to do that.

Even if there was a convenient way, the software will not run on the pad.  Ios is a unique language, and only programs written for ios will run on the pad.   All of the programs are in the app store.  You might look there and see if the company that makes your sfotware also has an ios version, which would be in the store.
