How do I keep an image or HTML item permanently centered?

I have been using Muse for a few months, but haven't figured out how to keep an image or HTML item centered regardless of the re-sizing of the browser window. Essentially I would like to 'Pin' the object not to one of the sides, but directly in the center and have it remain centered no matter what.
I had a digital conversation with a Muse representivtive and they suggested I use the align function and then lock the item, but I was unable to make this work in the desired manner and they left the conversation before anything was resolved.

You can use an image tag on a DIV positioned behind the rest of the page, so that could actually work. And if you want to use body:background, then look up an HTML/CSS reference and see if there are any other body attributes or CSS stuff that applies to the background image.

How do you keep in image/photo from sliding throughout a movie on iMovie?

I'm creating an audio movie using a picture as a background, but there is one problem. As soon as I hit play, the song begins to play while the picture slowly starts moving in any direction.
How do I keep the image from moving, rather staying motionless as in Windows Movie Maker. I tried turning off the Ken Crops effect to no avail. Any help would be appreciated.

Select the photo. Click on the Rotate, Crop, Ken Burns Tool. Instead of Ken Burns, choose FIT or CROP. Fit will letterbox, Crop will fill the screen by cutting of the edges.
You can also go into Project Properties and set the default action to Fit or Crop instead of Ken Burns. Then any additional photos you add will be imported the way you want them.

How do I source an image with HTML in Adobe Muse?

Hello, I am wanting a horizontal slideshow for images and I got the code to work nicely in my muse website and all I need to do now if populate it with images. I have looked into the syntax for placing an image and I am not too sure how to handle the sourcing (as I've never done code before). It's to go something like this:

I have the images to place in the slideshow sized, cropped, and ready to go in, but I do not know how the input the syntax to "source" my images - they are just sitting in a folder in "my pictures" on my desktop. My workplace has a server where we all can access the same files...will that help? I've seen where people reference images in their code simply by typing the web address of their website with the image name at the end....which confuses me! -> how do I upload an image to my Muse website without it being seen and then reference it in a slideshow? That process doesn't seem to make sense. I'm lost! Help please!

The other 5% is how well will Muse play with all that. To that I cannot answer fully because I haven't tested every scenario. Again, the inherent nature of Muse is "designed" to stray away from custom coding. Also in your previous post it is a little unclear as to your where all your Muse folders/files are residing. IE: on your companies server or on BC or a bit of both. I know ultimately all your trying to do is point to something. Seems simple enough right? And there may in your developement come a time when you need the more advanced CMS features, which is why BC seems logical.
What you find along the way is that it can get more involved then you anticipated. Certainly if you can make it work then go for it. The problem is at times, while things can seem simple in theory, without sufficient practice employing those theories (the coding/the syntax) then any # of errors can happen leaving you scratching your head and cursing why you bothered in the first place. Another option is to rethink your strategy. Is it really all that important to have the uber cool linear continuous scrolling effect? Will this define my site? Can I implore some imagination and thinking and make it easier on myself by using the tool at hand (Muse) to it's max to achieve the end goal?
Just some food for thought but as previously stated if you can make it work then go for it. And if the mods or other users can be of more help than I, then that would be great as well!

Edit - With so much going on myself, I forgot to mention that (when you have all your i's dotted and t's cossed) you could try inserting the script into the html for head feature via the metadata tab in your page properties.

I am in the jewelry business and when I have multiple images, and a customer makes the browser window larger or smaller, it of course moves the images out of position and mixes everything up on different lines. As opposed to a site like Bluenile.com which images stay stationary as the browser window moves. I did try to make all my images on "one image" in Photoshop and that does seem to do what I want as far as the images go, but then I cant add links to individual pictures within that page. Please help !

You're using a liquid layout based on percentages that resizes with browser viewport. As Ned said, a fixed width Table would be one approach. Another would be to use a Fixed Width CSS grid like this one (view page source to see the code)

How do I keep original image size in InDesign CS after changing image in Photoshop?

Here is an example of what I am talking about:
If I have an image in Indesign that is scaled to 50%. I want to go to Photoshop and reduce the image size by 50% so when I go back to InDesign and update the image the image will stay the same size in the box, but now show that the image is at 100%.

How to create a background image for each item in a List object

Hello.
I am trying to create a background image that displays whenever a user posts something to a list. For example when a user posts text it would appear in a list. The new item in the list would contain a specific background image with the users text appearing on top of the background image. I do not want a background image for the entire list, rather each item within the list.
I am not sure how clear this is so I added an image below. When a user enters text in and clicks the "post-it" button their text would appear below with the sticky note background.
I am not sure which list type would be best for this problem or how to create insert the image, so I am open to suggestions.

the easiest way would be with itemRenderer.
You have to do two things:
1. In your list declaration use a item renderer: <mx:List itemRenderer="myRenderer"/>
2. create a flex component myRenderer that will be the single item. This can be a canvas with a background image and a text field on it.
When you add a new item to the list, a new myRenderer item will be created and the data property will be passed to it. So you have to put "data" in your textField.
If you need more help try looking at Tour de Flex samples, they're pretty easy.

How can I keep pictures images from opening up in the body of an email

Every time I attach a pic in mac mail, it opens in the body of the email. I never had this issue with Outlook.
I typically attach several pics at a time, the email becomes very messy. Any suggestions on how to keep it from opening.

It depends.
When you copy an image from a website in Firefox (right-click > Copy Image), Firefox stores the HTML code that website is using to display the image. Then when you paste into Yahoo mail, Yahoo uses that code to display the image in your message, by linking out to the source site.
However, if you copy the image from a source other than a web page, Yahoo mail (webmail interface) can't use this technique and although it sometimes seems to show the image in the post, when I send, I just get a strange "inline image" notation in its place.
If you access your Yahoo mail on a device in a dedicated mail client, then you usually would have more options because the mail program will encode the image into the message.

How do I keep an image constrained in one size, and not become enlarged?

I would like to disable the feature where images on iweb will expand when clicked on.
I had thought I edited the photos to keep them one size- 300 x 300 px. After I added them to a web page on iweb, I used the site inspector, and tried to put the information and constrain the size .
I could only adjust the width, as the height was in grey, and unable to be adjusted. The box for constrain proportions was also in grey, and was unable to pick that.
I tried using different images, but was unable to adjust this.

To change the size of the thumbnails in a photo page use the Setting pane and increase or decrease the spacing between images:

If you add 300 pixel x 300 pixel photos into a photo page then the large size image that comes up when you click on a thumbnail will be 300 x 300. Is that what you want? You don't need to reduce the size of the image to get a specific thumbnail size. You just need to adjust the spacing between them as described above.

When I use Example code 'Grab and Attributes Setup.vi' (<NI supported Example),
I simply add the event case for overlay function (such as 'IMAQ Overlay Oval') with Image by Local Variables connection (image input - output).
Event case:

Rectangle Control ---|
IMAQ Overlay should keep the overlay on buffer memory if I input the rectangle value.
Problem is that the overlay disappeared if I use 8 bit image format?.
but at the 16bit image format, the image keep the overlay image (colored overlay).
It seems the overlay buffer is removed by acquiring new 8 bit image, but 16 bit format, the overlay is still alive.
Is it bug or what am I wrong?

How to drag and drop images on html page?

Is there a simple way to drag images on your webpage so that they are positioned at different coordinates?
I have an img whose CSS position is set to absolute and top and left are both set to zero. I would like to simply drag the image to another location in the design view and have it update the tag's style with the new coordinates.
The types of web pages I am building must use abosolute positioning extensively and having to hand code each position would be very inefficient.

If you are using CC then you can't; If you are using CS6 then:
Insert >> Layout Objects >> ApDiv

How do I keep Grayscale images from converting to CMYK

I created my file in Framemaker 7.2 and imported Black and White grayscale images, when I wrote the postscript to create a PDF everything was fine until I did the preflight only to learn that my images have converted to CMYK...These graphics need to print grayscale not CMYK. I am working from the PC and this is a very large document.

What format were the images in?
Unless they were EPS or PDF formats, then FM7.2 would have converted
everything to RGB on output, not CMYK.
To get true postscript greys from equal RGB values, you must
configure your PDF printer instance to output postscript grey.
In the Printer control panel, select the Adobe PDF, then right-click
and select Properties.
Then on the Device Settings tab, set the following:
Convert Gray Text to PostScript Gray: YES
Convert Gray Graphics to PostScript Gray: YES
Click OK to set.
