How do I know if I can run a game?

Hi, I know a Mac isn't ideal for gaming. I dont want answers back saying im an idiot for buying a mac for gaming, because that isnt the case. I just want to know what I am compatible of running though. I know there is the Can I Run it site, but I am not sure if that is always reliable.  ALSO I WILL BE RUNNING WINDOWS 8 VIA BOOTCAMP.
So, by looking at my cpu and gpu, and looking at the requirements for a game, how do i know if i can run it? I would appreciate it if you can tell me if this example will work, but how does the average person know if it will work, by comparing the specs?
My specs:
MacBook Pro (Mid-2012)
RAM: 8GB
CPU:2.3GHz quad-core Intel Core i7 processor (Turbo Boost up to 3.3GHz) with 6MB L3 cache
GPU:Intel HD Graphics 4000 1024 MB & NVIDIA GeForce GT 650M 512 MB
Here is the game:
Batman Arkham Origins (recommended settings)
RAM: 4GB
CPU: Core i5-750 Quad 2.66GHz
GPU:GeForce GTX 560
Also, if I meet the minimum requirements for the gpu, but far exceed with the cpu and ram, what does that mean?
And... If one of my graphics cards is 1024MB, does that mean I can run games that require that much memory on the gpu? Even though i know the geforce I have is better.
I am just very confused, someone please clarify, I would really appreciate it.

Also, I had to install the software twice on my same computer before because I had to reboot the computer. I don't know if this affects the limit.

You are allowed to have two activated installations so there should not be a problem having working installations on the two machines.  If by chance you have somehow tied up two activations for the one machine you can have Adobe support help resolve that thru chat.

  • My computer is a MacBook Pro Intel core duo, and I need to know if I can run the new Lion OS?

My computer is a MacBook Pro Intel core duo, and I need to know if I can run the new Lion OS?  The Apple web says must have Intel Core 2 Duo. Please advise. Not knowledgeable enough to know if not having the 2 between Core and Duo is a stopper.  Appreciate any guidance.

The difference between a Core Duo and a Core 2 Duo is a show stopper when it comes to running Lion.  The Core Duo is still only a 32 bit chip, but the Core 2 Duo is a 64 bit chip.  You need the 64 bit chip to run Lion.

  • How do I know if I can convert a String value to an int value or not?

    Hi,
I want to know how to make the judgment that if I can convert a String value to an int value or not? Assume that I don't know the String is number or letters

Again, why?One of the problems (have been dued) in my codelab asks us to write a class as follow
Write a class definition of a class named 'Value' with the following:
a constructor accepting a single integer paramter
    a constructor with no parameters
a method 'setVal' that accepts a single parameter,
a boolean method, 'wasModified' that returns true if setVal was ever called for the object.
a method 'getVal' that returns an integer value as follows: if setVal has ever been called, it getVal returns the last value passed to setVal. Otherwise if the "single int parameter" constructor was used to create the object, getVal returns the value passed to that constructor. Otherwise getVal returns 0.
The setVal(int y) returns nothing, so how do I know whether it has been called or not?
    Thank you

  • How do I know if I can install a JAVA component on a SAP product ?

    Dear SAP,
    I have a generic question.
I need to know if a JAVA Component can be installed in a system.
    Let's take an example :
==> There is EP Core Java Component.
==> My question : May I install this JAVA Software Component EP Core in a SAP SRM 7.0 / NW 7.01 system ?
I know there is http://service.sap.com/scl link which explain the content of each SAP Product and SAP Software Component.
But how do I know if a specifif JAVA Component (example EP Core, SAP MDM Server, ...) can be installed on each SAP AS-JAVA ?
    Best regards
    CP2009

    Dear CP2009
This information is stated in guides but a quick trick can be the following
Go to [https://service.sap.com/sp-stacks] and click on "sp stack download" in the left pane menu.
Then select your product version on right pane for example SP Stack SAP SRM 7.0
This will open a popup window
Fill in start stack and target stack (can be whatever in this case, it's just to check what usage types are available)
On one of the next screen you will have to choose which usage types are installed.
From that screen I can derive that for product "Portal Content SRM" or "SRM Supplier Java" you need component EP Core.
    Kind regards
    Tom

  • Hey everybody. Do you know if i can run os x server on macbook pro mid 2012 with i5 2.5 GH, 4Gb RAM and OS X 10.8.4?

I recently saw that for os x server apple says that you can run it on inexpensive hardware like mac pro, imac and mac mini. It doesn't say anything about notebooks. So if i buy os x server will i be able to run it on my macbook pro mid 2012 with i5 2.5 GH, 4 Gb RAM and 10.8.4?
    Thanks.

    Welcome to Apple Support Communities
OS X Server is compatible with any Mac that runs OS X Mountain Lion, so you can install it on any MacBook, MacBook Pro, MacBook Air, iMac, Mac mini or Mac Pro that supports Mountain Lion > http://www.apple.com/osx/specs
Just open the App Store and purchase OS X Server. The app will appear after finishing the download, so follow its steps to set up OS X Server on your computer. You will be able to install it for free in all your computers after purchasing it. If you want more information about OS X Server, read > http://www.apple.com/osx/server/

  • How do you know if you are running from external drive or internal

I just started using CCC and have cloned my HD to the external. I shutdown and then power up holding down the on button. It gives me the option to boot from the HD or the external. I select external and it boots. But how do I really know that the computer is operating from the external.
Is there a place to look and see which drive is actually being used to operate the computer ?
    Regards.
    Jim Svarz

If you launch Disk Utility and select a volume on a drive, then click the First Aid tab, you'll notice that the button for the option to Repair Disk is active for all volumes you choose EXCEPT the startup drive, where the button is greyed out. The startup drive can only have Verify Disk run on it, since in order to Repair Disk the volume must be unmounted, and you can't unmount the startup volume.
Oh, and I like the change in Leopard which allows me to put drive icons wherever I want them on the Desktop and they stay there. Hope Apple doesn't go back to the old behavior.....

  • How do I know if I can get fibre?

    Hello,
I live in a remote area and am connected to the Warmingham exchange which I understand has recently (in September having been delayed a few times) been upgraded to fibre. The online checker suggests that there is fibre in my area but that they can't tell whether I can get it.
I don't really understand the technology but I believe both the exchange and the cabinet need to be upgraded. I think I'm connected to cabinet 1 but I don't know where that is, or whether it has been upgraded, or if it has whether I can therefore get fibre as I'm some way from the exchange.
I've been paying c. £50/month (including line rental) for fairly slow connectivity (<2MB/s) for nearly ten years so am very keen to understand if I can now upgrade.
I can't seem to get a definitive answer from anyone as to whether I can get fibre now, and if not, when (if ever) will I be able to.
Can anyone suggest how I can find out for sure please? Many thanks.

If you use this checker it will tell what cabinet you are on and what services it can receive.
    http://www.dslchecker.bt.com/adsl/adslchecker.welcome
If it does not show a cabinet number it will be because you are on an Exchange Only line which will mean you can not get Infinity because you are not connected to a cabinet, instead you are connected directly to the exchange.

  • How do I know if I can get rid of a file I don't recognize?

My macbook got quiet full & I just installed "Disk Inventory X" which shows me where is my memory going to. I discovered many memory consuming files which I can't recognize like: sleepimage which takes 2 GB & is located in private/var/vm/textedit
How can I know if I am allowed to get rid of that file, If it's necessary for my computer etc? I have many more enormous files like this one & afraid to throw them... Thanks for any advise

When you put your computer to sleep the contents of your RAM are written to the sleepimage file. This way, if there is a power failure or your machine shuts down unexpectedly in some other way, the data you had in RAM when you put the machine to sleep won't be lost.
You can disable this process through Terminal (see this topic), but simply deleting the file won't save the hard drive space because the file will be recreated the next time you log in or restart.

  • How do i know if i can reinstall an app.

before i bought my ipod touch i bought tap tap revenge classic for 99 cents.
i don't want to download it again with out knowing if i will be charged. since then i have reset my computer and i want to do it on my itouch. can some body please help me?
    P.s.
i never installed ti on my ipod touch

You will need to take some risk and at this time it appears that the total risk is $.99. Not bad. The reason I say that is because you are supposed to NOT get charged again for an app that you had already purchased provided that you are logged in with the same account that originally purchased the app.
Try it from your iPod Touch and see if it works. If it still charges you $.99 then either not do anything bout it or call/write to the iTunes Store and have the charge removed.
FYI - You can easily confirm whether you had previously bought the app or not by opening iTunes on your new computer and then logging into the iTunes Store. From extreme right choose your account name and then choose Account. From the main window then choose Purchase History.
