How can i use airplay with apple tv on a set of audio speakers?

i've got a problem with my stereo apple tv combination.
my TV does support HDMI so i can use my apple tv on my HDTV. only my audio is being played on my internal speakers of my HDTV. I do have a set of speakers. but it doesn't support optical audio out. so i was wondering if its possible to use an Airport Express en plug my speakers in there. then wirelessly send the audio from my apple tv to my Airport/speakers. do any of you think that thats possible?? cause i really can't find another way to transfer my audio to my speakers...

Unfortunately you can't send audio from the Apple TV to an airport express, but you can send audio from your mac/pc to the airport express via iTunes/Airplay, you could also send audio from an iPod/iPhone to the express. The express supports both optical and 3.5 mm in a unified port.

Losing WiFI on MacBook when using AirPlay to Apple TV

When I use AirPlay to 'Extend Desktop' from my 2014 MacBook Pro to my Apple TV, about two thirds of the time my MBP will lose its WiFI connection to my Airport Extreme. So AirPlay and Extend Desktop works fine, but my MacBook no longer has access to the Internet. The WiFi signal strength icon on the MBP menubar just goes grey. If I click on the menubar icon, it just says "Wi-Fi: AirPlay" rather than the name of my network.
It's like AirPlay just takes over my WiFi connection to connect my MBP to my Apple TV, forcing out the WiFI connection to my base station. But again, one third of the time my MBP will remain connected to the WiFi and the Internet when using AirPlay. And other devices, like my iPad, always remained connected to the Extreme and can access the Internet.
I've been scouring the Internet looking for solutions or even other people having this issue, but no luck so far. Thought I'd ask here to see if anybody had any suggestions.

Finally got a chance to test this out. Saddly enough, it didn't work.
I deleted the movie from iTunes (no hard delete), then added it again. Same problem :-/
And yes, they are all saved in the same location (Movies folder).
Any other suggestions???

my macbook was stolen and i am not sure whether 'find my mac' was set up on it. i went to the apple store and had lessons multiple times that i had paid for - i was told by the police that this might have been set up for me, but i do not remember.

How do I know what programs I can quit in the activity monitor?

I use a macbook 13in and run lion. Last night, I checked out the actiivty monitor and there were programs/files(?) I didn't recognize. I understand that some of these are important and quitting them may cause problems. How do I know what programs I can quit? Thanks for the help!

IMHO, you should not quit anything. In fact, looking at the activity monitor if nothing is wrong is, IMHO, a waste of time.

I'm sure that your Mac isn't being backed up on iCloud, because Macs can't be backed up on iCloud (that's for iPhones, iPods touch and iPads).
If you want to check what's using your iCloud storage, open System Preferences > iCloud > Manage

We took 3 video cassette 8mm that were recorded in the early 90's to a place that burned the videos onto 3 DVDs. When inserted to our Mac, the DVD player comes on to play the DVD. Opened Quicktime, but can find no way to import. Went to File>Open File>Sony_DVD_Recorder_Volume. Clicked on Sony_DVD-Recorder_Volume and it shows a file named VIDEO_TS. Clicked on that and 6 files showed VIDEO_TS.BUP, VTS_01-0.BUP, VTS_01_0.IFO, VTS-01_1.VOB, VTS_01_2.VOB, VTS_01_3.VOB. Where is DVDxDV?

Since no ones got one that I know of it is hard to say. I figure that when the day comes that someone writes a Mac virus you will know real quick what happens. If your concerned you could use ClamXav. I use it if I download something for my wife's PC but have never found anything yet.
