How do I know why it says my phone is blocked?

I am on holidays in Uruguay with my two iPhones. One it has the sim card from Europe working fine. The iPhone 4s, I'd like to put a local sim card and it tells me to contact my server as the phone is blocked. I bought the phone in the beleive it wasn't blocked. So the two obvious questions are:
1- How do I know if my phone is really blocked or it is a problem here?
2- If it is blocked, how do I unblock it to be able to use it here.
3-I have sent many requests to Apple with its serial number and I have received only one answer saying that the phone serial number was inactive ... what does that mean?
4- Then I tried to call and I couldn't get passed the payment as it wouldn't accept my foreign mobile number.
Help! I am  feeling very inadequate today!

I bought it from a carrier which not only assured me it was unlocked but it is against European regulations to sell blocked phones in that country. Furthermore, I have put sims from other European countries in it, so, I am very confused. Also, I bought from them the iPhone 5 in which I put my sim card ... I wonder now if that one would also be blocked. Unfortunately, as I am on holidays I cannot check the papers. Is there anyway I could find out before contacting them if my phones are blocked or not?

    Check on the setting, as far s i know it was there by going on tools>options> privacy then check it out. If there was no changes, what i can suggest is try to update your firefox.

    Hello everybody!
    I am about to buy a used Nokia cell phone. The problem is that I want to be sure that the original owner of the phone hasn't stole that product. Simply because I don't want to buy a stolen phone.
    So, my question is; is there any database or any way that will allow me to check if this cell phone is stolen or regulary bought.

  • When I plug phone into laptop USB port it's unrecognized, but anything else I plug into USB works. How do I know if it's cord or phone? My cord works when plugged to wall outlet to charge.

    My phone charges when it's plugged into wall just find, then I try n use cord n plug to laptop to USB port and it's unrecognized. But other thugs worked plugged into USB port so I know it's not the computer. How do I know if it's my phone or the cord itself that is the issue??

  • I don't want to know how to delete duplicate photos anymore. I would like to know why Apple have not put in delete duplicate option menu in iPhoto? Very curious. Is it to frustrate users, so they have to go out and buy another apple photo product?

    Just want to know why Apple have not made an options menu to remove duplicate photos in iPhoto? I know about downloads you can purchase to delete Dups, but I'm very interested to find out from apple themselves as to why they left this out, to die without knowing this is like having viruses on a pc or waiting for the web page to pop up on windows...

    Thanks but I think it has something to do with the 'restore'. in the newest iTunes 11, when I click on the tab "iphone", it redirects me to the "welcome to your new iphone" page and asks about doing a 'restore'. I already did a 'restore', but it went to the original factory settings and I want to 'restore' to my lastest back up as of April 12. When I choose that option, it says my iphone doesn't have enough space. I don't know how much I need to delete in order to make it work. I've deleted lots, but it only has 4.1 GB available. I'm not sure why this isn't enough to do a 'restore'. I don't want to delete all my photos and videos, but maybe I will have to?...7.7GB is used up for that. I can't sync or do ANYTHING...

    It should keep asking for the password, because it's trying to check for purchases... As soon as you login, it will see you have pending downloads and create the downloads section on the left below Purchases under the Store section. Then it will start the music downloads there, as they will be listed one below the other.
    You could just try to check your account balance or view your account and that will trigger a password request too. You can just click on that and say that now iTunes keeps asking for the password and ask him to help you with that. Trick would be to interrupt him so that he carries on with another task after, so he doesn't notice the download. Or you carry on with email or browsing which you were "busy" with when iTunes interrupted you for the password (stupid iTunes)
