How do I load 2 versions of FCP?

I have FCP studio 2 and bought the 3 upgrade. I have 3 on one machine and c2 on the other. When I get snow leopard, I am going to do a clean install and put 3 on both machines.
Trouble is, I have video tutorials for FCP studio 2 and still want to do a little learning in motion 3 and STP.
With an 8 core mac, can I install 2 versions side by side, or should I take one of my 4 drives, put an OS on it and install FCP2, boot to in when needed?
Which is the better way?

did you put previous versions on other HDs or the same HD with a partition?
I had them on the same partition. I just moved the application out of the APPS folder and renamed it like Final Cut Pro 4.5, Final Cut Pro 5.1.4...and so on. But when FCP 6 came along, I could no longer do that. So I had two boot drives, so that I could wrap up other projects.

Love it. Lightweight...works on my Mac Pro and MacBook Pro. Captures ProRes 422 on my laptop with a small firewire 800 drive attached (something Matrox doesn't support, but it works for me), able to upconvert SD to HD, downconvert...Great box. Fits in my backpack with my laptop and really allows me to be mobile.
Do you move it between an MBP and mac pro?

ALL Adobe upgrades are FULL INSTALLERS. They do not need to a find a previous version to install. Any prior versions remain untouched,

Ive got the same problem, just got my iphone unlocked, and they told me to sync it to itunes to get it permently unlocked, well everytime i plug my iphone in it says; it wont work as it needs up dating to 10.6.3, which i have already updated, but still doesnt work, so how can i get my phone unlocked?

How Do I Load 3D LUTs in FCP-X or Motion Natively?

So according to this web site: http://www.colorgradingcentral.com/lututility FCP-X and Motion 5 now allow me to load in LUTs without having to use / buy an additional piece of software / FX. But when I do a search on how to do that, the only thing I find is people selling apps to load LUTs into FCP-X.
Can someone point me to where this is documents, or explain how to do that without a 3rd part app / plugin? (Even my search on the apple site yields nothing... but I may be searching the wrong terms- I thought 3D LUT, FCP-X, and Load, install, apply, how to would get me the answer...)

The easiest way is to connect it to iTunes on your computer with the USB cable. Tap on the iPad in the devices list in iTunes and choose update from the options in the iTunes window.
Depending on which OS the iPad is running currently, you may also be able to do it wirelessly.

How do I know if a FCP version is Educational?

I am trying to buy an older version of FCP 4, but want to make sure that I am getting the full retail version that I can use to upgrade in the future. I have found a seller, who says she has an unopened copy, but she doesn't see anywhere that tells if the version is 'Educational/Academic' or 'Not for Resale'. How would I know if it is an educational version Retail version without opening the box? Would it be printed on the box if it's educational/academic?

I am having similar issues with a *.exe from LV6.1. I have the runtime engine for 6.1 and recently upgraded to 8.2 from 7.1. I've never had 6.1 on my machine. I am able to install this executible and runtime engine on a machine with 7.1 and can run the *.exe fine.
I get a load error and am not sure why. I have had similar issues with old VI's that I have written in 7.1 executing on this machine w/ 8.2
any suggestions.

HOW DO I LOAD MAC OS LION ONTO AN OLDER iMAC (2010) WITHOUT THE ADMIN PASSWORD.

I purchased MAC OS LION (version 1.0.4) (multi user) from APPLE about 4 months ago. The OS LION came on a thumb drive that is used to load it on multiple computers instead of having to down loading it off the APPLE website. I have only loaded one version of LION onto one computer so far.
I want to load the LION on a used iMAC(about 2-years old) I recently purchased but can't because I don't have the previous owners ADMIN password.
I don't have the original disc that came with the iMAC either. The OS currently on the iMAC is Snow Leopard 10.6.8
I do not care about any data that the previous owner had on the hard drive which isn't much so I would be glad to install MAC OS LION from scratch and erase/reformat the hard drive. Doing this I presume I can then create my own Admin password .
I believe there is a procedure where you hold down certain keys at startup which will allow you to clear the HD and install the new OS but I am unaware of the key sequence. Nor am I sure if this will work with the THUMBRIVEn or if you need an actual disc.
If anyone can give me direction on how I can load the OS LION from the thumb drive when I start the computer up so I can reformat/erase the HD I would greatly appreciate it.

If the password you are talking about is the EFI boot password the only way to bypass and or remove it is to take the system to Apple.
If it is a User Log On password then just boot the computer from that thumb drive open Disk Utility and Re-Partition the internal drive as ONE partition. then exit out of DU and select Reinstall Mac OS X.
Once that is done it will boot to a fresh clean install of Lion ready to be setup with new user account and password.

If you have only a single home, the quickest/easiest way is probably just to check the properties of %ORACLE_HOME%\odp.net\bin\2.x\oracle.dataacess.dll

I'm assuming you followed a forum like Gizmodo to load the latest version of iOS 7 Beta on your device
Alot of those forums forget to mention, iTunes 11.0.5 will allow you to update to the iOS 7 Beta but your device will no longer work unless you have the developer version of iTunes as well....
I'd suggest you to research how to downgrade back to 6.1.3/4 and wait a few days for the iOS to be released,

Working with different versions of FCP

My apologies if this is answered somewhere else but is there any way to work on a newer version of FCP then take that project to an older version?
We have 5.1 at home but the workplace has 5.0. I'd like to do some work at home and am not sure how take the project back on forth.

Welcome to the forum!
XML exports and imports will allow you to go back and forth with sequences. But since the crossgrade is so inexpensive, I'd suggest the office buy the latest software, so you don't waste time and effort doing this. I don't think every single aspect of what you do at home will translate completely with XML being the transfer technique.

Try outputting it as a MP4 or M4V
If Final Cut won't output it, Mpegstreamclip will convert it. So will Quicktime if you have the pro version.

You don't need downtime to change permissions...
You can run "/sapmnt/IRQ/exe/saproot.sh" script as ROOT user to set the permissions on Kernel Directory.
OR
Do as follow:
# chown -R irqadm:sapsys /sapmnt/IRQ/exe
# chmod -R 755 irqadm:sapsys /sapmnt/IRQ/exe
# chmod 4755 /sapmnt/IRQ/exe/saposcol
# chown root:sapsys /sapmnt/IRQ/exe/saposcol
After that don't forget to set the permissions of BRTools (brbackup, brrestore, brarchive, brspace etc.) according to below note.
