One way to accomplish this is to use the zoom feature.
Use the Text Size buttons in the Toolbar.
If you click smaller A button, the contents of the window will zoom out and more of the contents
will be visible. But fonts will become smaller.
To revert back, click the larger A button.

How do I adjust text size in toolbar, in tandem with browser text zoom, WITHOUT limiting the screen space of my browser window as a whole? Changing Windows DPI reduces browsability of window as displayed.

I tried to customize PC settings for my mom, whose site is failing. So I plugged in the nosquint Firefox addon and upped the font size. Additionally, I tried to make desktop text etc. (non-browser text) larger. When I accomplished this through the Windows DPI adjustment, the browser would not open to full screen width (at least, not through any means other than F11, which is something beyond my mother's understanding or patience). With DPI 120, the maximized browser will not go full screen, but will instead hold left of screen, and display less than the full width of the page being viewed (this make my mom give up. And who wants to scroll laterally anyways?). Is there some way to pair the functionality of Windows DPI boosts with Firefox text/window zoom? Thanks.

Try to set the pref layout.css.devPixelsPerPx to 2 on the about:config page.
To open the ''about:config'' page, type '''about:config''' in the location (address) bar and press the Enter key, just like you type the url of a website to open a website.

Okay, I've figured it out, so I'm going to answer my own question in hopes that it may help anyone else that would like to actually be able to see what they're doing when using Photoshop CC 2014 on a high resolution screen.
1. Open Photoshop.
2. Select Preferences from the Edit Menu, then select General.
3. Change the HUD Color Picker to Hue Strip (Medium).
4. Select Interface from the Preferences menu on the left side of the dialog box.
5. Change the UI Font Size to Large in the Text area of the Preferences dialog box.
6. Select Experimental Features from the Preferences menu on the left side of the dialog box.
7. Select Scale UI 200% for high-density displays (Windows only).
8. Click on OK, then Exit/Quit Photoshop.
9. Open Photoshop and everything should be readable.

Since upgrade to 3.6.7 the emoticons window on a forum I use always opens full screen, not as a small window. How can I get it to open as a small screen again.

Since upgrading to 3.6.7, when I go to a forum I'm active on and click the emoticons icon in the reply box, the emoticons window opens full screen, and not as a small screen like it did before. I can click on the box to make it small again, but next time I open it, it's back to full screen. Ok, not a major problem, but really rather annoying. I've tried to find a way to get it back to opening the way it did before, but to no avail. Does anyone know how I can solve this little problem?

No-one got any ideas on this then? It's definitely a firefox problem, as when I open the forum page (mentioned in the OP) with Opera or Chrome, the emoticons window opens as a small window, same as FF used to before the upgrade.

After installing the new version of Firefox on an Windows xp computer I cannot use the internet. There is no address bar for entering a URL, there's not back up arrow, I can't get away from the Firefox add-on screne.

Make sure that you do not run Firefox in full screen mode (press F11 or Fn + F11 to toggle; Mac: command+Shift+F).
If the menu bar is hidden then press the F10 key or hold down the Alt key to make the menu bar appear.
Make sure that toolbars like the "Navigation Toolbar" and the "Bookmarks Toolbar" are visible: "View > Toolbars"

*If missing items are in the toolbar palette then drag them back from the Customize window on the toolbar

How to make all pages in a PDF appear the same size?

Hi, I am about to create many PDFs that show the bookmark pane and the document pane, with the document pane at 75%.
If I create these PDFs to open as "single page continuous" and set the view at 75%, all scrolling is beautiful!
But, if someone goes to a page by clicking a bookmark, the page views jump to a much larger size.
How can I constrain the page view size to what I want?

You might also change the PDF to be full width or full page instead of a percent. If you set this in the document properties, then it should held as you move around. It may be that you are changing a particular page and then move around, meaning the new page goes back to the default set.

The changes have brought improvements but also drawbacks compared with the old slideshow editor.
The templates are now fairly fixed but I find the “Classic Dark” gives reasonable results with some panning and you can click the audio button and browse you PC for any track. Unfortunately there are only three speed choices linked to the music track. The improvement for most people is that you can now export to your hard drive at 720p or 1080p and upload to sites like YouTube and Vimeo.

Are you looking at these sizes within Aperture using the metadata view or inspecting them outside using the Finder and Show Package Contents?
I am wondering how you are importing the pictures from your camera? When you import from your camera, the right side of your display window will have a lot of options that you can select to grab your images from the camera.
Does your camera shoot RAW+JPEG? If so, you may not be importing them correctly and only picking up the JPEGS. You can import them so they stay together or separate them. The master images are all at the Project Level whereas the views you see in Albums for example are aliases that point back to your Project.

That;s really not enough free space... you can use a tools such as OmniDiskSweeper to find out where your large files reside and begin pruning (or copying to an external if they're files that you want to keep).
One thing is certain - if you're going to continue your current usage you're certainly going to need to install a larger boot drive.

If your computer is on one minute before it freezes, than you have one minute to secure your serial number.
click the apple----->click about this Mac ------> click on version----> until you see the serial number. You may have to do this a couple of times if it freezes before you have all the numbers. A camera might help.

I have a Jframe which has JPanel and JPanel contains lot of other components.JPanel size is 980,1400. when i use JFrame.show method jpanel goes beyond the screen size in length and I am not able to see the portion below the screen.How can I resize the JFrame so that JFrame and JPanel shrinks to fit into the screen size.I need this because I have a PRINT button at bottom of the JPanel.Thanks.

How do I get my home screen smaller...it has gotten bigger and I can't see the whole thing at once. Changing the resolutions doesn't make a difference.

I had my mouse in the bottom left corner when I made a spreading motion with 2 fingers. The whole screen got really magnified. The reverse action did not put it back. How to I get back to the standard size home screen????? PS....I'm a new mac user..so no big words plz.

Head to the Apple menu > System Preferences > Universal Access (or Accessibility or whatever they call it now) and fiddle with the zoom settings.
Perhaps you should consider using a scroll wheel mouse and setting the Control key as it being held down to zoom in/out with the scroll wheel, that's what I do and it's a lot easier than using the trackpad.
Trackpads are more for like temporary portable and emergency uses as they are not that comfortable or easy to use for the long term.

I'm having the same problem. I've tried going into the Library and deleting the mail plist file(s), which fixes the problem, but only temporarily. Would appreciate any help here too!

Hold down the 'ctrl' key and scroll backwards on the mouse.
Then go to System Preferences > Universal Access > Seeing. Turn off the Zoom feature.
Similarly in Sys Pref > Mouse uncheck the box for 'Zoom using scroll wheel…'
If it still occurs after that there may be a corrupt .plist file.

I recently upgraded to Mavericks and i hate that every time i press the +/green button on the top left, the page goes fullscreen. How can i go back to it just making the window bigger instead of fullscreen.

Hold down Option key and click the Green button. It will change from the Full Screen button back to a Zoom button.
You can also double-click the empty area in the window frame (title bar) if you don’t have it set to minimize when double-clicking.
