How do I manage apple id on multiple devices

How do I manage Apple ID on multiple devices.  I changed on my iMac but can't change on my iPhone or iPad.

in addition, if you want to change the iCloud (which you probably do), do
settings->iCloud->Delete Account
Then log in with yours.  Be sure to note the settings first, because it will forget them.

  • What's the best way to manage Apple IDs for multiple devices?

    Hi,
    We have
    a shared Macbook air
    a shared iPad
    my iPhone
    his iPhone
We want to put one ID on the Macbook and iPad that we can use to have the same iMessage on both and that we can put a card on and use in the iTunes store etc.
We also want to have our own iMessages on our iPhones, plus be able to use the account with the cards on them to purchase and share across devices...
What's the best way to manage them all?

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
iTunes is straight forward, just use the same ID on all of them.
What exactly do you want to see in messages on the Mac and iPad, messages combined from each of your phones or a different account just for both of you.
You should think about what you want in calendars, contacts etc, on your shared devices.

  • How do I change apple ID when multiple devices have same ID

I have multiple apple products with same apple ID. I would like to Chang iPad mini and iPod to different ID  than I registered with. I do not want to lose data and want to keep same ID on phone and iPod. Just want my daughter to have her own ID on her iPod and ipad mini. She does not have email account

These days, an AppleID is required to be a valid email address, so she'll have to create one (I recommend gmail). Once she has an email address, she can create an AppleID here:
    https://appleid.apple.com/cgi-bin/WebObjects/MyAppleId.woa/
To change the AppleID for iTunes and Apps, go to Settings->iTunes and Apps Stores, click on the AppleID at the top and select "sign out".  Then log in again with the new AppleID.
To change the AppleID for the cloud, go to Settings->iCloud, note all the settings (because it will forget them), then scroll to the bottom and click "delete this account".  You can then sign in with the new AppleID and put the settings back the way you want them.

  • How to use 1 apple id for multiple deivces

How do I use 1 apple id for multiple devices.  My son just got new ipod and wants to imessage, but when he does it shows it is from me.

  • HT201084 My family shares one Apple ID on multiple devices.  How do I switch everyone over to their own Apple ID without having to erase their iphones and ipads?

My family currently shares one Apple ID on multiple devices and has for quite awhile.  How do I switch everyone over to their own Apple ID and the Family Sharing without having to erase their iphones and ipads?

Thank you again for your time, GB.
I set up individual Apple ID's for my children so that they could have their own Apple ID on their individual iPad minis (gifts from grandparents last year).  When I go to iCloud under Settings, I see my Apple ID listed at the top, then my children's listed under Family Sharing.  So the device is still using my Apple ID for iCloud, iTunes, etc., correct?
To "assign" their own Apple ID to their own iPad mini, I would need to "Sign Out" from my Apple ID.  When I attempt to do so, I receive a warning that all of the Documents and Data will be lost/deleted.
So, instead of doing this, I figured out that I could do what you suggested.  Signing in using a child's Apple ID will allow her/him to use Game Center, FaceTime, and Messages just fine.  However, using their Apple ID for iTunes & App Store proved to be a problem:  Purchased Music and Movies appeared in iTunes, but my Purchased Apps did not appear.  Some Apps even disappeared, e.g. Proloquo4Text (a $99 app to help my son speak with his iPad).
So I reverted to using my Apple ID for iTunes & App Store, and I get everything that I want, EXCEPT for the iCloud storage for each Apple ID.
So that's when I started wondering how Family Sharing was really benefiting me ~ It was a lot of work (deleting apps to allow space to download iOS 8, etc) without any benefit that I can see.  UNLESS I find a means to allow me to sign in each iPad's iCloud account with a different AppleID, then perhaps restore the Documents and Data from a backup?  Would that work?
    Thanks.

  • I am using my Apple ID on multiple devices for other people. How can I make icloud work only for my devices?

I am using my Apple ID on multiple devices for other people in my family and now I am getting a new iphone and want to take only the information on my old iphone to the new one without the information on the other devices using the same account. Is there a way to do that?
Also, for the future can I use multiple addresses and apple IDs for the same credit card information?
    Thanks in advance,
    Marian

Ok, so you want to remove data (contacts, bookmarks, calendar etc) from other users from your iCloud/Apple ID?
If you want to use your ID for your family because it is the account everybody uses to buy stuff then you only need to ensure that your apple ID is set up in the store (settings-store) and then the users of each device and put their own apple ID in icloud/message/facetime/etc.
To set up your device, in my opinion, it is best to back up to itunes, and then plug your new device into itunes and "set up as ..." and select the backup from your device.  This will import all your data/settings and your new device will be set up just like your old one.
I am not certain about using the same payment method for more than one account.

  • I have one apple ID for multiple devices in my family.  I'd like to keep it that way for itunes/app purchases.  I would like a simple step 1, step 2, step 3 response on what I need to do to separate all other features like imessage, contacts, emails, etc.

I have one apple ID for multiple devices in my family.  I'd like to keep it that way for itunes/app purchases.  I would like a simple step 1, step 2, step 3 response on what I need to do to separate all other features like imessage, contacts, emails, etc.
I have been reasearching how to do this on the internet, but I haven't found an easy explanation yet.  My family is going crazy over each others imessages being sent to others in the family and not being able to use FaceTime because of conflicting email addresses.  I have read that if each person gets their own iCloud account, this would work.  However, I need to know what to do after I set everyone up with their own iCloud account.  Do I make that the default email address to be contacted or can they still use their hotmail email addresses.  Any help- with easy explanation- would be much appreciated!!

We do this in my family now.  We have one account for purchases, so it is used to share music and apps (I think that is in Settings/iTunes & App Stores).  Each iDevice has this configured.
Then, each of us has our own iCloud account that is configured under Settings/iCloud.  That then allows us to have our own Mail/Contacts/Calendars/Reminders/Safari Bookmarks/Notes/Passbook/Photo Stream/Documents & Data/Find My iPhone/and Backup.  That Backup piece is pretty sweet and comes in handly if you replace your iDevice.  You can just restore from it.
So we all share the Apple Store account but we all have our own iCloud accounts to keep the rest seperate or things like you mentioned are a nightmare.
In answer to what iCloud does for you: http://www.apple.com/icloud/features/
Think of it as an internet based ("cloud") area for all of those items listed in my response.  What you need to remember is photo stream only maintans the last 1000 pictures so don't count it as a complete backup solution for your pictures.  Even though I rarely sync with a computer these days, I do still try to sync my phone with iPhoto (I have an iMac) so that I have copies of all of my pictures.  1000 may not stretch as far as it sounds.

  • Can I use the same Apple ID for multiple devices

Can I use the same Apple ID for multiple devices?

Yes. Up to five devices can be authorized on a single computer using the same Apple ID. You can also use the same Apple ID on multiple devices is they are all going to use the same iTunes Library by the same user. But it's ill-advised if multiple users are involved who wish to keep their devices separate from the devices belonging to other users.
How to use multiple iPhone, iPad, or iPod devices with one computer
Using More than One iDevice on the Same Computer
This applies mainly to couples who are adding another device and do not want their email, messages, etc. being duplicated on both devices. To begin read: How to use multiple iPhone, iPad, or iPod devices with one computer. You need to establish a separate Apple ID and password for whomever will use the new iDevice. See Apple - My Apple ID and Frequently asked questions about Apple ID. The easiest way is to do this on the computer using iTunes: iTunes- How to set up an Apple ID within iTunes.
On the computer create a new user account for the person with the new iDevice. This will be the user account that person will always use. He/She will no longer use the other user account. This way that person will have a separate iTunes Library
Start by transferring the new device(s) to a new account along with all your data.  Save any photo stream photos that you want to keep to your camera roll (unless they are already in the camera roll) by opening your Photos app, tap on Albums icon at the bottom. Now, tap on My Photo Stream album; tap Select; tap on the photos you want to select;, tap the share icon (box with upward facing arrow) in the lower left corner; then tap Save to Camera Roll.
If you are syncing notes with iCloud that you want to keep then you need to open each of your notes and email them to yourself. Later you can copy and paste the text into new notes created in your new account.
Tap on Settings > iCloud > Delete Account (only deletes it from this device, not from iCloud; the person keeping the current account will not be affected,) provide the password to turn off Find My Phone and choose Keep on My iDevice when prompted.  Sign in with a different Apple ID to create your new account. Choose Merge to upload your data.
Once you are on separate accounts, you can each go to icloud.com and delete the other person's data from your account.
Note: The essence of the above was created by user, randers4. I
have made substantial changes to improve readability and syntax.

  • Same apple id for multiple devices

I have been use the same apple id for multiple devices (both are iPhones running iOS 6 - one is a 4, the other a 4S.) I'd like to sync separate content for each device using the same instance of iTunes (iTunes V 10.7 installed on MacBook running OS X 10.6.8.) Can I assign the second device a separate apple id in odrer to differentiate the content? Thanks for your assistance!

No, a second Apple ID will not work. iTunes can already tell them apart.
When you connect the first iPhone to iTunes, check and uncheck the things you want and Sync.
Do the same with the second iPhone.

  • HT204053 I am using my apple ID on multiple devices

I am using my apple ID on multiple devices, i.e. 3 iPhones, 4 iPads, MacAir, MacPro etc....Up until today we have been able to use FaceTime on any device to contact each other. Today for some reason we can no longer faceTime each other from any of our devices. For the iPhones the only 2 selections we have chosen are the cell number for the iPhone and our Apple ID. This is the same for our iPads. We are able to iMessage with no problem. These settings have been working for the last several years. Anyone have any suggestions?

I'm experiencing the exact same issue. I was able to use FaceTime perfectly fine across multiple devices on one Apple ID, but as of the 15th or 16th can't get it to work on any device.
    Help!

  • How I can test an application on multiple devices?

How I can test an application on multiple devices?
    Any information about it?
Once I have created the .ipa file that I have to do?

In creating the IPA you would have used a provisioning profile. If that is a development one, or a distribution ad hoc one, you will have chosen what devices the IPA is allowed to work on.
So, make a distribution ad hoc profile that includes all of the devices on your iPhone developer account, and make the IPA using that profile. Now when you have made the IPA you can give it to the people who own those devices.
If they are all your own devices (or people who you see each day) you could connect each one to your Mac, and use Xcode's Organizer or Devices window (depending on which version of Xcode you use) and drag the IPA into the Applications list for the device.
If the devices are owned by other people you don't get to see, you can either send the IPA to them and they would use iTunes to get it onto their device, or if you can post the IPA online you can send a link to them, and they can install the IPA directly from the web page.
The web server will have to be HTTPS, you can't use HTTP services since iOS 7.1 came out. To post the IPA online you can use this utility:

  • How to connect Apple TV to multiple devices

I have a Pioneer HDTV connected to a Sony VAIO computer through HDMI which in turn is connected to a Sony 5.1 digital receiver through a TOSLINK cable. I have recently bought Apple TV and now need to connect it so that the TV, computer and receiver all all to each other. The problem I have is that the TV has only HDMI out and the receiver has only one digital optical out. What is the best way to connect the Apple TV to these devices?

Your Tv is unlikely to have HDMI out.
It may have HDMI in, question is how many inputs.
The only official way to connect AppleTV 2 to your TV is via HDMI.
You can send optical audio to the Sony reciever simultaneously.

  • How do i change apple id on my devices

how do i change my apple id on my devices ??

If you want to change the iCoud ID, you have to go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account, provide the password for the old ID when prompted to turn off Find My iDevice, then sign back in with the ID you wish to use.  When you do this you may find that the password for your old ID isn't accepted.  If this should happen, and if your old ID is an earlier version of your current ID, you need to temporarily recreate your old ID by going to https://appleid.apple.com, click Manage my Apple ID and sign in with your current iCloud ID.  Click edit next to the primary email account, change it back to your old email address and save the change.  Then edit the name of the account to change it back to your old email address.  You can now use your current password to turn off Find My iDevice on your device, even though it prompts you for the password for your old account ID. Then save any photo stream photos that you wish to keep to your camera roll.  When finished go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account and choose Delete from My iDevice when prompted (your iCloud data will still be in iCloud).  Next, go back to https://appleid.apple.com and change your primary email address and iCloud ID name back to the way it was.  Now you can go to Settings>iCloud and sign in with your current iCloud ID and password.

  • HT4137 iCloud setup with one Apple ID and multiple devices

iCloud setup with one Apple ID and multiple devices

What, exactly, are you trying to do? You can use the same iCloud account on as many devices as you want, as long as you don't turn on iTunes Match. Once you turn on Match, you're limited to 10 devices total.
Is this what you want to do...same iCloud account, but different iTunes/App store accounts on each device? If so, you can do that also.

  • HT204053 using same apple id on multiple devices

Can you set up multiple devices(iphone, itouch, ipad) with the same apple id?

I have four devices using my Apple ID and I have all four setup to use messages and FaceTime on all of them by using different email addresses as the "contact at" email address.
Go to Settings>Messages>Send & Receive at>You can be reached for iMessages at>Add another email address. She can add her personal email address. Apple will verify it - it will say "verifying". Go the inbox of that email account and respond to Apple's email in order to complete the verification process.
Then go back to Settings>Messages>Send & Receive at>You can be reached for iMessages at>Uncheck your email address as the contact address and check hers to select it as the contact address.
Do the same thing in the FaceTime settings in the appropriate fields.
