How do I move photos from my iPad to my Mac or flash drive?

I have over 1000 photos on my iPad and would like to move them to my Mac so I can order them and share them. When I turn on photo stream on my Mac and iPad, the 30000 photos from my Mac are pushed to my iPad. Can the photo stream be one way? If so how?

Photostream can't be only one way. It can only hold 1,000 photos. It doesn't have to have any photos added to it from your Mac, that happens because of your iPhoto preferences, you can change them.
To move photos from your iPad, connect it to your computer with a USB cable, open iPhoto and select the photos to import.

  • How do I move photos from my Ipad to iCloud?

How do I completely remove all photos from my Ipad to free up memory?  I am connected to the Icloud.

iCloud is not a back up service, even though it can hold the iPad backup, but is more intended to be used to keep all your iOS devices and computer in sync. The only photo features on iCloud is Photo Stream which only holds 1000 of your most recent photos taken with an iOS device for only 30 days (although I have yet to see any deleted). Photos should be copied to a computer where they can be properly backed up, stored and organized there then synced to the iPad. For online viewing of the photos online photo sharing services such as Flickr, Picasa or an online storage service such as DropBox should be used.

  • How do I move photos from the library of one MAC to the library of another MAC?

I have down loaded over 500 picture from a recent vacation to my MacBook I-Photo Library.  Now I want to duplicate those photos on my family's main IMac.  How do I move those photos from the MacBook I-Photo Library to the iMac I-Photo library?
    Thanks,

There's another app that can move photos between libraries (but not keywords or other metadata): SyncPhotos
    Here's how it works:
    1 - it compares the databases and/or album.xml files of Libraries A and B.
2 - the files in A that are not in B are imported into B by copying the original files from A into B's Import folder.
3 - it then does the same for B.
4 - metadata is not copied.
It can be used to just copy from A to B and not sync both ways if desired. It will work with 2 libraries that are different versions, i.e. between an iPhoto 08 and iPhoto 09 library.

  • HT4906 How do I transfer photos from my iPad to my Mac using iCloud?

I'm having trouble attaching photos on my iPad to an email from my iPad. So then I tried sending the photos to my Mac with Mountain Lion OS so I could send the email from there, but I don't know how to do that either.
    Please help! Thanks.

On iPhoto (or Aperture) on your Mac,turn on Photo Stream.
Turn on Photo Stream on your iPad (settings>iCloud>Photo Stream
To attach a photo to an email, you can go to Mail, tap the insertion point, and hit add photo/video.

  • How do I move photos from Iphone3 to iphoto on Mac?

I haven't used this particular computer for a while Mac g5 10.4.11 The auto photo sync doesn't work. I must be doing something different or I've forgot what to do. Everything else works with ITUNES , but the Iphoto doesn't open up automatically.

If iPhoto doesn't launch automatically when any digital camera is connected to this Mac including your iPhone, which won't launch automatically when your iPhone is connected unless there are photos in your iPhone's Camera Roll, you can change this via the Image Capture preferences - the Image Capture application is located in your Applications folder. When a digital camera is connected, launch iPhoto.
Or just manually launch iPhoto - it is just a mouse click.
iPhoto will import photos from your iPhone's camera roll only - not any photos transferred from your computer to your iPhone via the iTunes sync process, which are stored in your iPhone's Photo Library.

For photos taken with the iPad, copied to it via the camera connection kit, or saved from emails/websites then see this page : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4083
For photos that were originally synced from a computer you will need a third-party app such as Simple Transfer (which has a free lite version called Simple Photo & Video Transfer) which can copy them off via your wifi network. But as photos are 'optimised' when they are synced to the iPad, any that you then copy back to a computer may not be exactly the same as they originally were on your computer.

If the photos are in camera roll, turn off auto sync on computer and transfer purchases.

Another way. You can use a USB flash drive & the camera connection kit.
Plug the USB flash drive into your computer & create a new folder titled DCIM. Then put your movie/photo files into the folder. The files must have a filename with exactly 8 characters long (no spaces) plus the file extension (i.e., my-movie.mov; DSCN0164.jpg).
Now plug the flash drive into the iPad using the camera connection kit. Open the Photos app, the movie/photo files should appear & you can import. (You can not export using the camera connection kit.)
