How do I notify Apple that I need a Refund of the $100.00 that I paid for fifty gigs of iCloud storage that I can't use because I thought I would be able to put my music library on it and found out I can't? Only iTunes purchases are capable of use in iCloud presently.

I was NOT moved on to the $70 plan printed on the card I purchased and was additionally billed for every call, text and data transfer until my previous $20 overage balance was reduced to nothing. When I spoke with their customer service, I was told that they would fix the error if I paid an additional $20. I purchased ANOTHER $30 card(the location I was at only had $15 and $30 increments) and added it to the phone. I called BACK customer service to make sure I would no longer be charged for the unlimited service I paid for. As it sits at this moment, my account says I have unlimited talk and text, BUT my data is next to empty AND the overage balance is UNDER $1. In summary: that's $70 for the plan I wasn't given, $20 for the charges I wasn't supposed to incur, and $30 for the extra money they insisted I pay to continue service."
    Does anybody SEE this?!?! I PAID $70 for unlimited talk, text and 4 gigs of data, period. That should be the end of it, I should HAVE that right now and not be fighting to GET it... What I have RECEIVED is billing through $20 that should not have been touched. I then had to ADD $30 MORE and I STILL don't have data reflected on myverizon AND the dollar balance on my account is under $1. So instead of paying $70 for unlimited talk, text and 4 gigs, I have paid $120 for unlimited talk, text and ZERO data AND an almost empty overage balance.

    Again: I don't start out this way. I don't TALK this way, but when I've been patient and polite on the phone for a FULL hour, and they STILL don't fix my problem, and I call back and get a robot voice telling me to go online... I'm going to vent. You see?
    When I say it costs next to nothing, what I mean is that price fixing is occurring at the highest levels by financiers who have a monopoly on literally everything for sale. There's no REAL WORLD value behind the costs. That wasn't the focus of this complaint because I've fully accepted that the vast majority of society is far too fluoridated and indoctrinated to have critical thought processes. I'm sorry for mentioning it because the problem is bigger than the imaginations of anyone who will read this.
    What I want to focus on is the end of the line robbery occurring in my immediate, direct experience in this moment where my account should rightfully have 4 gigs of information and $50 credit waiting for me because I paid for it. I live in the sticks. I LIKE it out here away from the metropolitan taxpayer zoo. I HAD a (removed) phone from (removed) when I moved out here and frequently wouldn't GET incoming calls. When they actually DELIVER the service I normally pay for, I'm not dissatisfied. I achieve communication. It's pretty cool... but since I've gone ahead and upgraded to a smart phone they've withheld the service I've paid for and charged me $50 for NOTHING at all. That's THEFT. Flat out.

You mean when I went ahead and withheld every thought in my head to call them out on how messed up that is, and actually went into that store, and bought that card, and added it to my phone, and waited politely AGAIN? You mean when I discovered that not only was the issue STILL not resolved, but the balance on my account shows less than a dollar, and I tried to call back yet again only to be told to go online where NOTHING on this site puts you in contact with anyone who will actually DO anything to resolve ANY sort of issue?
    I believe I have every right to be as rude as I like at this point. This is NOT how a legitimate business operates. I shouldn't even be replying to you. I shouldn't be ****** off and missing money/data as I'm here holding the receipts. I shouldn't be forced to make this whole day about hunting down a legitimate person within the company in order to collect what I paid for. There's a product on the shelf with an advertised service. I paid the money... I should have the service... and I shouldn't be charged extra money in order to fund their inability to deliver it.

    Thanks a lot!  After I sent the above post, I tried that.  It worked a little.  Some of the ones that I Purchased would not come up.  I followed instructions from Apple about going to Purchased and downloading them again, but ran into another problem.  They are greyed on my Mac and they will not download again.  It says to click on the iCloud beside them, but there is not one visible.  iCloud is set up, at least I thought it was.  I am sure there is a simple explanation, but I am missing it!

    I assume you are talking about iTunes on your computer, if so, you will have to remove all Apple programs associated with iTunes:
    iTunes, QuickTime, Apple Software Update, Apple Mobile Device Support, Bonjour and Apple Application Support (iTunes 9 or later)
    Make sure everything that is by Apple is removed including Safari. You can sort by "Publisher", when you uninstall programs. Make sure you have at least one other web browser (like Firefox or Internet Explorer) before removing Safari. That way you can go back to the Apple web site and redownload iTunes later.
    Reboot the computer then reinstall iTunes. Everything should work normally.

    Go to the App store in iTunes. Find the page for the app, and click the link for the developers web site.

  • My music library is hiding(but still there) on my Zen 32

    Hey. So for the past /2 of the year or so, I've found that my Zen was mysteriously becoming incompatible with a 3rd party app for last.fm. I never figured out why, and I assumed it was a fault in the app, since it had never been completed and was left in an "as is" state. Long story short, the app scans mp3 players and uploaded listening history to the site, and it seemed like everytime I added new music to my Zen, the old music stopped being scanned. Curious, huh
    Well, today for the first time in... perhaps ever, I went to browse the media on my Zen for something else. Much to my surprise, almost all of my library is gone! But it's still on the player, because I listen to stuff that's not showing up in the media explorer all the time. So with my rudimentary knowledge of the way that operating systems interact with hard dri'ves, I imagine that there is something wrong with the way that my player scans its hard dri've. And I bet that every time my last.fm app failed me(thrice total; so far, twice in my ownership of the player, I've reformatted the player twice and reloaded everything in an attempt to fix this. I assume this behavior has been occuring virtually since I purchased it, but never noticed this specific problem). I also checked the player as viewed through MediaSource5 and WMP; both display the limited library. So it seems the majority of my library is hidden to everything but the player itself, which, to repeat, reads everything and plays everything just fine.
    Fun (perhaps relevant) facts about my player:
    - Firmware is up to date, and to my knowledge, always has been. I purchased the player last spring(after the most recent firmware was released), and I don't think I've ever had to update. I ran the MP3 player recovery tool last time I reformatted it, and I believe the firmware was replaced with the same copy at the time, anyway.
    - All of the music is in the form of unprotected mp3's.
    - Said mp3's are the only files on the player. No photos, videos, recordings, not even playlists(I just use albums as playlists, or I build them on the spot. The ease of this is one of my favorite aspects of the player, btw.)
    -Said mp3's are organized thusly: Music->Artist(folder)->album(folder)->individual file. This has varied over my ownership of the player, and has always been dictated by the importing program I used.
    - I do not use the SD card. Never inserted one into the slot.
    - I have tried a number of methods of putting music onto the player. I believe I started with the sync app that comes bundled with the various software, but that kept crashing on me for large file loads, so I gave up with that. I also tried dragging and dropping music via the browse view in Zen Media Explorer, but to my dismay, about half of my album artwork didn't copy over for no apparent reason. My method of choice now is to use the "Add Media" import function in Zen Media Explorer, which I believe works like a charm. Except that it still inflicts the crippling blow that brings me here now.
    - If I try to delete anything from the browse view in Zen Media Explorer, the player itself will freeze and do nothing. I then need to reset it via paperclip or staple. Deleting needs to be done from inside the player, or by reformatting the entire thing.
    - The first time I reformatted the player, I had uploaded an image to the player and set it as the background. When the player finished reformatting itself, the file was gone, but the background remained the same. My thought at the time was "neat". My thought just now was "oh crap when I did that did I somehow put the image into a hidden directory that all my music is following into ". But my thought just just now was that this problem must have been happening before that first reformat, so that can't be the orign. But it's certainly a good example of the same behavior.
    - In its current state, I believe that the oldest visable file on the player was created on Sept. 5. I estimate that this album has "survi'ved" about a dozen upload sessions between then and now, maybe more. I do not think that anything uploaded between then and now has vanished, but I have no way of confirming this.
    Finally, here is my own observational evaluation of what's going on thus far:
    - The last.fm app is, to my knowledge, entirely read-only, so I don't think it can be at fault. When the app works, it works without a problem for weeks at a time. Plus, I don't think anyone using it with this player has reported anything remotely like this, so I've ruled that out as a source of problems.
    - Even though I have not observed it, I believe that everything that vanishes does so all at once. When the last.fm app fails, it recognizes -only- things that were very recently uploaded to the player. So it's not like there's a constant sliding scale of things going in and going out, it's more like a pile is stacked very high and collapses with the slightest input.
    - This behavior seems to be tied to a maximum of three factors: Time elapsed, Disk space used on player, and new uploads. Uploading music seems to be a definite trigger. Based on the last time I wiped the player and reloaded everything, I am willing to rule out time as a factor. I think that everything lasted about two weeks before this started again(I gave up on the last.fm plugin at that point). If that was going to be the cause somehow, I should be able to observe the behavior as an ongoing thing(refuted by the Sept 5 bit above). I am left assuming that the player just can't handle large loads when it does its "consolidating library" thing after uploading music, because that seems to be the only relevant factor here. By my own estimate, the last time music disappeared, it was probably around 3300 files composing 7-9 gigs.
    If anyone has any ideas about this concerning this specific behavior, this specific player, or OS<->HDD interaction in general, I am all ears. I will probably file this with creative in the event that nobody has any ideas. And I'm sort of at the end of my rope here because it seems to be a systemic problem, as it has persisted across me reformatting the player twice and flashing the firmware at least once.

    It will only be where you put it.
    It has always been very basic to always maintain a backup copy of your computer for just such an occasion.  Use your backup copy to put everything back.
    If for some reason you have failed to backup ( not good), then you can transfer itunes purchases from an ipod.  File>Transfer Purchases.

    Then at the bottom it said to authorize this computer for items purchased from the ITunes Store choose Store> Authorize This Computer. I have no idea where to go and how to do that! Please help!!!!!!

    Getting the request for a serial number means that at some time you had the iWork ’09 trial installed. You need to delete the trial & then reinstall from the boxed DVD or the Mac App Store. The files to delete are the iWork ’09 folder from the main HD > Applications; the iWork ’09 folder in HD > Library > Application Support & the individual iWork application plist files found in HD > Users > (your account) > Library > Preferences for each user. The easiest way to fix the problem is to use Yvan Koenig's AppleScript that removes the files. You can find it on his box.com account in for_iWork'09 > other_iWork'09 items > uninstall iWork '09.zip. Download uninstall iWork '09.zip, decompress it, open it in AppleScript Editor and click the Run button.
    Apple's support article on the subject says it's due to having a copy of the trial that is a higher version that the one you've purchased, but I'm not sure that is very common. This problem started with Snow Leopard & it seems to be some code in the iWork installers that doesn't do what it should.

    Import the music on the external HD into iTunes.  If you don't want iTunes to make a new copy of each track that is stored in your iTunes Media folder on your PC's internal HD, make sure the Copy files to iTunes Media folder when adding to library option is NOT ticked from under the Advanced tab of iTunes Preferences.  Just remember that if you go this route, you'll always need to have your external HD plugged in before you start up iTunes.

    Does the iPod work OK?
    Does it charge when connect to the computer?
    Does it appear in My Computer?
    Look at the dock connector on the iPod. Compare with the iPod that does work/connect.
    I suspect you have a 2G iPod. Those can only go to iOS 4.2.1

    You will need a separate partition unless you plan to use the entire drive. You will need an amount of space somewhat larger than the total space now used on your startup drive. If you select the startup drive's Desktop icon, then press COMMAND-I to open the Get Info window. Used space will be shown in the topmost panel. Add a GB or two to that number to determine how much space you'll need for the backup.
    Do not backup on a drive that has any files you want to keep. You can make a bootable backup as follows:
    Clone using Restore Option of Disk Utility
      1. Open Disk Utility in the Utilities folder.
      2. Select the destination volume from the left side list.
      3. Click on the Restore tab in the DU main window.
      4. Select the destination volume from the left side list and drag
           it to the Destination entry field.
      5. Select the source volume from the left side list and drag it to
          the Source entry field.
      6. Double-check you got it right, then click on the Restore button.
    Destination means the external backup drive. Source means the internal startup drive.

    Already did both. Players of the game are complaining in huge numbers. They have a forum that is filled with complaints and the App Store reviews are also reflecting player concerns. You should see it! Developers seem interested in quick cash which will cost them in the long run as most current players who do spend some money but not huge amounts are quitting and complaining everywhere that they can on the way out.
