How do I open a GarageBand file that was emailed to me?
I have GarageBand...I just can't figure out how to get it to GarageBand from my yahoo email.

I guess that is my problem...because I can't figure out how to save it. I forgot to mention that I'm using and iPad2 and not a pc or workstation. Thanks for the suggestion Christoph! Anyone know how I can save a garageband attachment from yahoo email to an iPad?

  • How can I open and edit files that were developed and published by ftp to my host on my old macbook, which I can no longer access.

How can I open and edit files that were developed and published via ftp to my host on my old macbook, which I can no longer access. The HD containing the files cannot be accessed. I want to be able to download the published files to be edited in iweb?

You CAN'T download published files and then edit them in iWeb because iWeb can't open them - it has no import facility so is unable to open any html or css files - a previously published site.
You can download these files yes, but you'll need to use them as a guide or to cut and paste text from there whilst you re-build your site in iWeb.
The only other way is to download the files and then open them with an html editor such as TextWrangler or use one of the other web design programmes out there that is capable of importing html and css such as Dreamweaver of Flux 4.
These are your only alternatives as iWeb can't import and if you want to continue to use iWeb, then you'll have to re-build your site from scratch.  If you do just remember to back up your domain.sites file this time around - it is found under your User/Library/Applicaion Support/iWeb/domain.sites.

  • How do i edit a PDF file that was sent to me in an email?

How do i edit a PDF file that was sent to me in an email?

Depends on the extent of the edits. You will need Acrobat in any case. If the edits or minor, you can use the text edit tool. For major edits, you need to request the original file be sent or see if you can Save As a DOC or related file type. PDFs are not really structured for editing and you are asking for a lot of grief if you want to do much. Exporting is the best way, or even better simply asking the author for the original (non-PDF type).

how do I open a Word file which was exported from a PDF file?

    Hi alansandy,
You can find your converted Word file stored in your Acrobat.com account at https://cloud.acrobat.com. You can download your file from your account by selecting it and clicking the Download icon. Then, you can open it right up in Word!

  • I opened a PDFs file that was attached to an email message and now it will not close when I press "Done" as it usually does. Does anyone have a solution to suggest? Thanks.

I opened a pdf file that was attached to an email message I received and now it will not close when I press "Done" as files usually do. Does anyone have a solution to suggest please? Thanks.

Try double clicking your home button then force close the stuck PDF by swiping upward. Once you've done that just click the home button again to exit.

  • I am trying to open a garageband file that my friend sent me, but she has a newer macbook pro than I do, so I can't open the file because it says I need to update garageband.  I installed the updates but it still won't let me open it. How do I fix it?

The newest version of garageband can't be downloaded on my computer because my operating system isn't new enough, but I can't find a link to download a newer version of garageband than the one I currently have (garageband '09 version 5.1).

What is the GarageBand version that your friend is using?
If it is GarageBand '11, version 6.0.5, you can buy GarageBand '11 as a boxed retail version with the iLIfe '11 bundle, e.g. from Amazon.
Then you can upgrade GarageBand '11 to 6.0.5, using this upgrader from the Support page:
                     GarageBand 6.0.5
GarageBand 6.0.5 will work well with your system.  But if your friend is using the newest GarageBand 10, this will not help. Then ask your friend to send you audio files for each track, so you can recreate the project from the audio.  Or your friend could also use GarageBand '11 for the projects you want to share, that will run well in all newer MacOS X versions, even with GarageBand 10.0 installed on the same system.

  • How do I obtain a corrupted file that was automatically deleted upon me trying to open it after not have been working on it in a while?

Hi, I had typed a paper for a class that is worth half of the class grade a while ago, and today when I went to open it, the file wouldnt open and my macbook pro displayed a message saying that the file was corrupted. However, the problem now is trying to get that file back.  It's not in the trash or anywhere on my computer.  Is there anway possible to get it back???? PLEASE HELP

What kind of document is it and what program were you using that wouldn't open it?
Have you looked under "Recently" opened?
You can do a spotlight search for content within the document to see if it can be located.
Do you have Time Machine running? If so, you can retrieve the last non-corrupt version.
If you provide more information we may be able to help you.

  • How can I edit a pdf file that was imported?

I want to edit a pdf/jpeg file that I imported/placed in AI?  Can that be done?

    Steven,
Illy just sees a bunch of pixels as do the rest of us.
You may use Image/Live Trace with suitable settings, expand, and let her work with the resulting vector artwork.
Or you may draw a (set of path(s) round the part(s) you want to keep (turning htem into a compound path in case of multiple paths, then select everything and Object>Clipping Mask>Make. That will only hide the outlying parts (unless you do the destructive deed), and you only have limited ways of (further) editing.
Or you may work in Photoshop or similar.

  • Help please...i have no clue where to even start, i tried to copy a file that was emailed to me so that i could paste it and edit it, no luck, it wont let me edit it.

how can i edit a pdf file?

    Hi Folks,
You can't edit a PDF using Acrobat.com. PDF is a format that is most frequently used to freeze or snapshot a document, for a final stage or archive. As such, it's not typically used as an interactive format, where additional editing is done.
To edit a PDF you need to use Adobe Acrobat desktop software. You can download a free 30 day trial of Acrobat Pro here:
    http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobatpro/tryout.html
For more information on using PDFs in Acrobat.com and Buzzword, please see the article in our blog:
