I have an ipad 2 and can not get contacts to open. It opens for a split second and closes.
When I go to settings the same thing happens when i click mail,contacts,calendars.
I have rebooted and restored but to no avail.

close all applications (double-click the Home button, hold one of the Taskbar icons until they wiggle, then tap the red "minus" icon in the corner of each one until they are all closed). click the Home button to return to the Home screen.
Reset the device: hold down both the Home and Sleep buttons for about 10-15 seconds. if the red "Power Off" slider appears, ignore it and keep holding both buttons until the device reboots itself and you see the Apple logo. (you will not lose any saved data or settings doing this).

I was led to believe that Garageband could open up Garageband For iPad files, but not vice versa.
However when a friend sent me his Garageband For iPad file, and I tried to open it, a "compatibility updater" started running then stopped halfway through and told me Garageband was "unable to complete the download" and directed me to go to Apple help.
Here I am.

Apparently there were a two updaters I had to run first, before letting the compatability updater do it's thing.
And since I got my Garageband for Mac through the APP store I could only do my updating through that.
So if anyone else is having that same problem, update, update, update!

No, they are in the On My Mac account in the Mac Contacts app, not iCloud.

Outlook is not compatible with iCloud, check Microsofts site if you need more verification.
If you want them in iCloud use Mac Contacts and move them from On My Mac to iCloud. This will remove them from Outlook.

How can I group contacts on iPad Air

Must be missing the obvious, I am having trouble trying to work out creating a group of contacts. I have them created in Outlook, but for some reason cannot import/Sync with my iPad. My contacts came in fine from outlook, but not the group. I am trying to update iTunes on my PC and it fails, so I figure that may be the problem. Any suggestions welcome.

You are not doing anything wrong. Unfortunately, you cannot import groups or create groups in the built in mail app on the iPad. You can create groups in iCloud.com and sync those groups to your iPad, but you still cannot email to those groups with the built in mail app.
There are third party email apps that will allow you to create groups and email to them.

I downloaded the ios 7 yesterday and then was prompted to use a passcode. A passcode, I might add, that I do not recall creating when I set up my ipad at Christmas. I also did not sync this ipad with my computer. Now, after several attempts to "accidentally" discover a passcode, I find that my ipad is now Disabled....and to open it again, I must attach it to "the computer with which you first synced the device"....which didn't happen in the first place. What is the best way to Re-enable my ipad?

First, always make sure that you are dealing with the same account on all devices. Then just turn contacts on in settings,iCloud.. You can always log into iCloud.com from a computer to see what is being synced there.

Well, if both your iPad and iPhone have ios 7 you could AirDrop the contacts. This may seem time consuming if have a lot of contacts as you have to select all the ones you want to transfer. But it is useful if you want transfer only specific contacts and not the whole contact list. Oh, and another thing: your iPad has to be a 4th generation or higher and your iPhone has to be 5th generation or higher.
