I have unwanted Apps on iTunes that will not delete,no matter what I do .Any suggestions on how to permanently delete unwanted Apps from iTunes?

I did the following on my Mac computer
1. ITunes
2. Library Apps
3. Press delete button
4. Choose delete from everywhere

If the app was free why is it still attached to my history? even if I paid for it I (and that's a BIG CAPITAL I) should have the freedom to delete it and risk paying again. I have spent a good part of my evening trying to figure this out then finally found this page which confirms what I was thinking... It doesn't appear possible! ARHHHH!!! There are loads of posts saying how you can do this, when what they appear to be describing is how to remove the apps from their iphone/ipad and not actually from the list of every app you have ever installed which appears when you go into the "Apps Store" > Updates > Not on this iPhone.
It would be really nice to be able to remove programs from this list as I am sure I am not the only person who over the years have installed some apps which where not very good and I don't want to be reminded of them or to ever see them again quite frankly.
I can do this very easily from my Android phone in Google Play which is Google's version of the App Store.
I think things like this remind me why I prefer the ease of use of my Android phone... Ho hum! Maybe one day some geeks at Apple will realise that this would actually be a really useful thing to be able to do and enable it.

I think that Apple should add the permanently delete unwanted apps option to our account. We pay for them and we have a right to get rid of them, and Apple has to respect its client right. If Apple want to keep it as a record, keep it itself. Sometime, we just don't want to have any relationship with something and want it out of our life.
If Apple does not respect us, I will stop using apple products for good.
If you guy agree with me, vote for it and ask Apple to respect us.

The point you make is valid ... providing you are
1. Sure you won't want to download it again ... or
2. In the event it was permanently deleted you wouldn't mind paying for it again if you did.
It's no good expecting Apple to keep it as a record for themselves ... having bought it, you are the only person who has an interest (or not) in its continued availability.

You can delete the currenlty installed apps. Hold down an app until all the apps jiggle. Then on each app tap the x then tap Delete. Press the Home button once to to stop the apps from jiggling.
And you can hide purchases > iTunes Store: Hiding and unhiding purchases
But purchase history cannot be delete.

Apps can re downloaded using the same Apple ID for free > Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store

You cannot delete it form your purchase history, as it is a history of all of your purchases. That is the point of your purchase history.
You can hide it.

I recently broke up with my boyfriend of two years
who is still attached to my iTunes Account.
We both Downloaded an app called "My Utility's"
which is a secret file locked with a password,
He has photos of me in this file which are personal
That he is now threatening to put up over the Internet.
I was just wondering if there may be a way that I could
block or delete the app from my Apple ID or Account
so that the app could be deleted off all my Apple Devices
and he would be unable to get it back
if he were to try restore it to the Last backup ?

They are separate apps with separate passwords,
You can save websites, notes, pictures and videos
because we don't see each other at all I wouldn't even have the chance to go near his phone.
He's doesn't sync his phone with my lap top so I can't delete it and than sync his phone.
So I need a way to delete it through iCloud & my Apple ID so it deletes off his iPhone
Without me physically having his phone
And then ill have to do a new back up so he can't get it back
Even if I did see him his phone doesn't leave his hand I'm desperate to get this app off it
Even if I have to hack it (don't think that's possible) and as parthetc as it sounds
