How do I preselect a row in Jtable / JScrollPane?

Hi
I want to preselect and show a row in a table of e.g. 1000 rows.
e.g. if I type in a value in a field, I want the table to automatically scroll, and show the row whose 1st column has a value that corresponds closest to what I typed.
I tried JTable.setRowSelectionInterval(i,j), but this only highlighted the row, and I had to scoll down the scollpane manually to find it.
Anyone have a suggestion?

JViewport has a method setViewPosition(p) that takes point p which will be viewport's top left corner. Since u know which row u want to select, getCellRect(row, column) ot JTable gives you cell's Rectangle. Take x and y from this rectangle create a point and use it in setViewPosition. getParent() of JTable directly returns u JViewport. so the code should be
JTable tabl;
/* table code
and finding row and column to be set as r and c;
Rectangle ret = tabl.getCellRect(r,c,true);
Point p = new Point(ret.x,ret.y);
((JViewport)tabl.getParent()).setViewPosition(p);

You are trying to remove the rows an equal times to the amount of rows selected.
You should remove one row at a time:
model.removeRow(rows);
Change your code into this.
for(int i=0;i<rows.length;i++)
DefaultTableModel model=(DefaultTableModel)jtable.getModel();
model.removeRow(rows[i]);

How do I get filtered rows from JTable

Hello,
I'm using RowSorter to filter my data on a JTable, but now I need to get the rows that were not filtered out so I can export it to a CSV file.
Any ideas how to accomplish this?

According to the javadoc (http://java.sun.com/javase/6/docs/api/javax/swing/table/TableRowSorter.html)
If you have enabled filtering convertRowIndexToView will return -1 for locations that are not visible in the view.Hopefully you can deduce the rest.

Assuming you're just using an Object[][], why not
traverse that array?

Try to use the Table Model.
The "getValueAt" Methode decide what to Display.
So a simple "if" command can hide the complete row - or a single Statement.

Hello I am new To JAVA SWING
I have 2 questions related to JTable
1) How do i remove selected row in JTable ...for instance, I click on the row to delete (It is selected) , later I press the delete button, and then row is removed .... any hints ?
2) If I would like to save the rows in a JTable into a database , .... How can iterate through the rows in the JTable..each row .... the rows are saved in a List object...and a List Object is what I pass as a parameter in a class method in order to be saved into Database.

1) use the removeRow(...) method of the DefaultTableModel
20 use table.getModel().getValueAt(...) to get the data from the model and create your list Object.

One simple way you can do is:
just remove this row but keep it somewhere so that you may add it back when you want later. :-)

By the way, I just tested this assumption of mine, and found I was wrong if you're using default JTable drag and drop.
However, I'm using my own implementation. I notice in a simple program without any drag and drop, I get the behavior I mentioned above, so I'm guessing this IS default JTable behavior, which is then modified by the built-in drag and drop support.
So the trick will be, how to do what built-in drag and drop is doing, without using built-in drag and drop. :-)

can u help me by guiding me for the problem of...
i am having a JTable, in which a (first)column of each row is having a checkbox field.
If the checkbox is checked then and then i should able to modify the cells in that row where the checkbox is.
I have created the table with AbstractTableModel of which the isCellEditable(int row, int col) method is overwriten. Whatever return value (true/false) reflects the perticular
cells becomes editable/non-editable respectively.
but at run time...(mean the table is created now) and now i want to make the cells editable/non-editable depending on the checkbox value...
how can i implement it.........

I'm used to remove rows from JTables getting the model and doing a removeRow(num) like this:
((DefaultTableModel)jTable1.getModel()).removeRow(0);
But with ADF and JDeveloper the model says it's a JUTableBinding.JUTableModel but its not accessible.
How to remove a row in Jdeveloper 10.1.3.4.0?

Or maybe is just better to refresh data in the jTable but I do not know either like doing it.
