How do I print an excel worksheet so the rows have contrasting shades making it easy to read data across the page?

I want to print an excel worksheet so that the rows are shaded light then dark, light then dark. This helps when reading the data across the page on any selected line. Where do I select that option?

Not sure if it's any better in the version you have, but in earlier versions, you would have to manually select alternating rows using cmd-click in the row numbers and then fill the cells with the lightest possible shade in the fill palette.  Again, in an earlier version, it is possible to use the format painter (use your Excel help for details) to select several rows formatted with the shading and paint that format to an equivalent number of rows elsewhere.

    I have a user who wants to do this same thing. I did not find any way either to default the attributes to anything other than what you see the first time. Seems like such a trivial thing, hard to believe they do not allow it. I did find a program for this called iDress but I can't seem to download it from any links on the Internet. Not sure if it is free or not, but it was recommended by a link on the Mac support site.

    Perhaps some additional information would be helpful.  Does the HP6500 refer to a printer?  If yes, is the print driver and software installed on the computer that has XP?  I assume "prn" refers to some picture file or not?

    I am using java 1.5, and have made a cell renderer to display multiple lines in rows and it works well, however when I use the new print method it doesn't separate the cells onto the next page, it cuts them and will print the rest of the row on the next page. Does anyone know how I might go about making this happen?

    I finally found out the reason, The column heights were being set through my renderer. If I hadn't viewed them in the scrollpane the row heights were set to the default height of 16 therefore when the print method was called it clipped all the rows wrong, what is weird though is that the row height printed out correctly but the clipping area was set wrong because it was getting the default value of 16 from rowHeight(row).

    I'm not sure whether I yet have a good intuition for how you have your machine set up, but I suspect you need to include a cryptdevice flag to the kernel in your grub config. The file isn't found because the kernel doesn't know your root directory needs decrypting first.
    My setup is an LVM over LUKS over LVM sandwich. To boot into my system, the grub.cfg contains the line:

    Now, most of those flags don't have anything to do with your problem, but note the cryptdevice. It tells the kernel it's dealing with an encrypted filesystem sitting in a logical volume called crypt on a volume group called vg. The bit after the colon tells the kernel to associate this encrypted filesystem with /dev/mapper/root.
    As for how to fix your system, I'm afraid I still feel a bit fuzzy about how your LVM and encrypted layers relate to each other, whether you have LVM over LUKS, or LUKS over LVM, or something else. Was there a particular how-to that you followed?

    Settings>General>AutoLock>Never. Now it will not sleep at all so change it back when you are done reading.

    I hope that you can forgive Numbers for converting the date you enter as 12/13 into the default format of "December 13, 2011", one that is popular with many users.
    You can change to any of the supported date formats by using the Cells Inspector, Date and Time options.
    Select the top row of cells and use the inspector to set the format. You may do this before or after making the entries.

    Printing the Excel sheet is just an ActiveX method call to print the worksheet. To add data to the worksheet, you already have the reference, just call a print method. As for handling large amounts of data, that is a vague question. The data will print how ever you placed it on the worksheet. If what you mean is that you don't want to print out 25 pages every time, the print method has options to only print specific pages or ranges. You may want to play around with a sample spreadsheet to learn the printing options. For help on the ActiveX functions, make sure you have the Visual Basic help installed for Excel.

    selecting full screen mode makes the document visible, but the toolbars disappear and the print option does not show up on a right click.  How can i print the document and see the document in some other mode than full screen?

    In order to print, you can click the CTRL+P keys to launch the print dialog,
    Regarding the missing toolbar, try clicking the ALT key to shouw the software menu, then look around under the view option for any available toolbar settings,
    If you cannot find it, i would recommend you to try the Microsoft support forums, as they have some more knowledge with their software features

    I want output from my specific labview code to be written to a new and specific worksheet (meaning I want to provide the specific worksheet name) of an Excel spreadsheet my LabVIEW code will generate. My code will run in a loop where I want data that is generated in each pass of the loop to be written to a new worksheet each time through the loop. I know how to do this if I am ok with just having each worksheet be named 4, 5, 6, etc (on top of the 1, 2 and 3 that comes standard with a new Excel spreadsheet) but I want more meaningful names than just those numbers... So how do I add a new worksheet and give it a name of my choosing??? Also, when right click on an invoke node and then click on "Help for Item" which is right under the Methods selection that comes up, nothing happens, meaning I am not directed to any help file. I see that same behavior under LabVIEW 6.1 and also under LabVIEW 7.1. My guess is either I didn't buy some option required to have that help area be populated or I had it as some option but didn't know to install it when I originally installed LabVIEW??? Having that help available might help answer the question I pose above... I find working with ActiveX components to not be straightforward. Granted I haven't done it much and what I have done has been sort of follow examples and get it to work... But on this naming a new worksheet I have found no useful examples. My guess is it's easy but I'm clueless... Any help would be much appreciated... Note, in case it matters, I do not own the Report Generation tool/capability... thanks... bob...

    Take a look at "Excel Workbook Properties", that is located in
    REPORT GENERATION
    -> EXCEL SPECIFIC
    -> EXCEL GENERAL
    -> EXCEL WORKBOOK PROPERTIES
    One of its outputs is "Current Worksheet Name".
    You can insert a ExcelWorkbookProperties VI in a blank VI and then double-click it.
    You will se a rose vi named Excel Get Properties
    And inside it (double-clicking it), the way Worksheet's name is got. If you "Change to Write" that property node, you can set it's name.
    This way is very complicated, it can be done faster, but this way you can see a process to do that, and checking it, you can build your own excel VIs to do specific tasks.

The printer is connected to an older Mac with OS X 10.4.11 but I do have an imac in another room. I have trouble printing from the iMac to this printer also even tho share is on but the printer works fine with the old Mac it's connected to. My iPad has the latest iOS.

    A few things to consider.
    The computer Printopia is loaded on must be powered on and must be able to print on the printer that is being shared.  If the iMac is having problems printing to the printer it could indicate a problem with the share setup.
