How do I read inches instead of pixels, in the develop module
How do I read inches instead of pixels, in the develop module. I am not discussing resolution. When I crop, I need to see the numbers in inches, not pixels.
I am not exporting to anything. From the develop module I go on to the print module. However I want to see inches, not pixels, in the develop module.
I am not cropping to an aspect ratio. I am cropping to a given size, in inches, just as if I was in PS CS 3.
LR 2.0
Mac OS 10.4.11, G5, dual 2.3; MBP OS 10.5.4,; Epson Pro9600 c ultrachrome matte black.
Thanks in advance.
Nancy
>Instead of the image in pixels, why can't I read it in inches? Physical size in pixels is staring at me, why can't inches be there instead?
Because it is not there. The size in inches ONLY becomes real at print or at export time and can and will change depending on what you do there. Before that you are looking at a number of pixels in a computer.
>I need to set these values in the develop module, just as if I was setting them in PS CS 3.
That does not make any sense. There is no need to set this in develop at all. Lightroom will scale to your final size at export/Print/web/slideshow. Not in develop. There you are working with the RAW data at its native size.

Dear Experts ,
How to resolve comma in place of decimal while Triggered mail from workflow.
Whenever a mail is trigerred from workflow system a comma is coming for the decimal digit in the currency field . How we can have decimal instead of comma in the trigerred mail.
Would be grateful for your comments .
Thanks,
SachinThere are different approaches.
You can try this approach.
Example: amount filed
write t_menge to t_menge right-justified.
if t_menge+13(1) = ','.
t_menge+13(1) = '.'.
endif.

How do I get the basic panel in the develop module to reappear in Lightroom 5?
Hello! I was editing a photo in Lightroom 5 the other day, and I thought I hit something, but all of a sudden the basic panel was missing. I went online to see how I can fix it, and what was suggested was to right click on one of the panels and it should have an option that says basic, in order to get the basic panel back. That is what I did, but what it does is just opens and closes the panels. I don't know how to get my basic panel back, I hope I can get some advice.
Thank You!The trick is to right-click on one of the other panel headers, e.g. Tone Curve, and you'll see a context menu allowing you ro reselect the Basic Panel.
Alternatively, when in the Develop Module simply do Ctrl+1 (Cmd+1 on a Mac), or in the menu bar go to Window>Panels>Basic Panel. -
How do I renew my membership to reactive the Develop module? I paid my montly fee.
How do I renew my membership to reactive the Develop module? I paid my montly fee. I have never seen this before.
If it asks for an activation to activate the develop, it must be a CC version installed. If you use a CC version you have to pay you for your selected plan like monthly or annually.
If you should have the stand-alone version because you don't have/want a CC plan, then you probably have installed the wrong version - the CC instead of the stand-alone.
Download the stand-alone version from here: Win, Mac -
How can I retrieve the "Basic" menu on Lightroom 5? I accidentally bumped something while working in the Develop module of Lightroom 5, and now the Tone Curve menu is directly under the Tool Bar, with no option to click on "Basic."
Right-click on Tone Curve and choose basic again or press Ctrl+1 in Develop.

How do I create a collestion of developped and modified images in the develop module of Lightroom 5

I have lost my "Basic" panel in the Develop module and can't figure out how to get it back. My right panel goes from the Histogram straight to the Tone Curve panel. My Basic panel should be below the Histogram. Any ideas how to get it back. I have even uninstalled my lightroom and reinstalled it with same issue. Help!!!
Right click on or near one of the other headers and a pop-up will appear and you will be able to select the Basic Panel for viewing.

When I attempt to apply a lens profile in the Develop module the only choices are for the Fujifilm X100/S/T even though in the Library module the EXIF data correctly shows the camera as the X-T1 and the precise lens used to take the picture. How do I get the right profile available?
First, the required profile needs to be present. LR 5.4 supports the X-T1 in terms of understanding its Raw format, but will not come with a profile for every lens which can be mounted onto that.
A profile is made for each specific lens, as mounted on a certain camera. It can also be used with pictures taken on a different (reasonably similar) camera body than the one originally used during profiling. This is subject to the sensor format: you can employ a given lens profile made for full frame, on an image from a crop sensor behind the same lens - but not vice versa.
Next, the image type needs to correspond to the image type which has been built into the profile: Raw, or non-Raw.
Lightroom offers only profiles of the right type for the image(s) concerned. There are many more provided for correcting camera Raw, than for correcting camera JPG. That is also the case with additional profiles, e.g. those accessed via the Adobe lens profile downloader utility.
Finally, in the event that there simply is no profile out there for a given lens, it is not particularly difficult (though a little tedious) for the end user to generate one, using a further Adobe utility which is downloadable as a package, including a range of checkerboard calibration targets, each of which needs to be printed at a stated physical size. -
How do I restore section of the tools menu in the develop module?
I seem to have lost the basic section in the tools menu of the develop module of Lightroom 5.7 (latest download). How do I restore it?
Right click any of the Develop tabs and ensure Basic is checked. (Note this is for Windows; not sure how it's done on Mac.)

Say I have a preset that I use upon import. I import some raw files using that preset but decide to tweak the settings a bit per each image. IOW, now they are different than my preset.
I now export from a tweaked raw file a jpeg. If I later import that jpeg back into LR 4.4 but don't apply any presets upon import (just leave it blank, I don't even check None), when the image is in the Library the "Saved Preset" line over on the upper right says "Custom" so I figure my settings were "embedded" into that jpeg when I exported it.
However, when I then go into the Develop module, all the Develop settings are zeroed out. Is there any way to have the setting sliders represent what I actually did to the raw before I exported as a jpeg? I can't just hit the preset I used upon import because, in fact, the current settings have been tweaked.
Along that same line, is there a choice I can select upon import (of an exported jpeg or tiff or whatever) that says "show current Develop settings" or some such instruction that would take care of this during import. Thanks. No it’s not possible but you have a record in the history panel for your master (raw file) It will show the date you exported the jpeg etc. If you click on that line it will show all the develop settings to the right e.g. the slider values etc.
You can in fact save them as a snapshot; so if you make further tweaks to your raw file, the settings you used for your jpeg will always be saved.
Most users don’t re-import jpegs because they can export a fresh one at any time. It’s also possible to create a virtual copy from the menu (Photo >> Create Virtual Copy) which can have different settings to your master (original raw file). You can create as many VC’s as you like and they take up no extra space on your hard drive. Because they are virtual they are simply stored in the catalog as metadata. -
How do you fix the missing Detail panel in the Develop module? I just updated on the Mac to LR 5.4.
Right-click on any RH panel header in Develop and put a check mark next to the Detail panel

The "basic" section of the develop module suddenly disappeared, how do I get it back
I was in the develop module, click to move down to the detail section when the app flashed and the "basic" section was gone. I have no idea what I clicked and am not able to establish the "basic" section. Any ideas?
Right mouse click on any of the right side panel headers. A context menu should appear and you should see Basic listed at top. Click on same to make Basic panel visible again. It would also be worth checking to see if Solo mode is activated in same context menu. If it is then I suggest you deactivate it.

How do I view two "different" images in the Develop module so I can match exposure ?
Seems like a dumb question, but for the life of me cannot figure this out ?
ThxI am not aware of any view mode in the Developer module that is similar to the Library module's Compare View mode. If the images you are trying to adjust were taken at the same time under similar lighting, you can select the settings of the image you adjusted and copy them to the other images. Select the image whose setting you want to copy and then click on the Copy button found in the bottom left side panel. This will display the Copy Settings panel. Insure the setting you want to copy are checked and any you don't want to copy are unchecked. Click the Copy button. Next, select one or more images you want to copy the setting to and click on the Paste button (bottom of left panel). The selected setting will be applied to the selected images. You can also perform a similar function when in the Library module but this time, look for the Synch Settings button found at the bottom of the right hand panel. Button names are changed but the dialog is essentially the same. Photos can be selected either in grid view or the film strip.
