How do I reinstate the information bar that shows the prevention of opening a pop-up window?

After Firefox opened the information bar telling me they blocked a pop-up window I inadvertently clicked the option link and deleted the information bar from coming up again.
How do I reinstate the information bar that shows the prevention of opening a pop-up window?

I set browser.popups.showPopupBlocker to false, and information bar still appears.
When I also set privacy.popups.showBrowserMessage to false, it doesn't appear.
To test, whether the information bar appears, I use

So, set to true preferences
privacy.popups.showBrowserMessage
and
browser.popups.showPopupBlocker
Both of them!!!

In Firefox 4 and later you no longer have the Status bar that showed the padlock in previous Firefox versions. 
The padlock only shows that there is a secure connection and doesn't guarantee that you are connected to the right server. 
So you might still be connected to the wrong server if you make a typo in the URL and someone has claimed that mistyped URL.
The functionality of the padlock has been replaced by the [[Site Identity Button]] on the left end of the location bar.

How do I get the address bar to show the url of the site that I'm on?

In the old version of firefox, the address bar would show the url of the site I was on. When I would change tabs, the address bar would change to reflect the url of the tab. In the new version, the url of the current site will not show unless I hit the identity info button. This is really frustrating because I want the url to show up automatically, instead of showing the last thing I typed or the last site that I was on. If there is a way to fix this, I would really appreciate it. Thanks.

I would have thrown a prompt to the user in the renderasJpeg
function and removed it in last line of convertToImage function.

I can not delete my history and adding new bookmarks. Upgrading to later Firefox versions and/or re-installing didn't help. The address bar still shows the web addresses of old and whenever I make new bookmarks, it's always gone as if it was never made.

Also, I have noticed that every once in awhile you can not close tabs you've opened, either by pushing on the X button and/or clicking on the mouse to close it. Although closing the window and opening it again (without closing the Firefox application) seemed to rectify the problem in the short term, it's becoming quite annoying.

I think I have a solution.
First, download the add-on SQManager. This should be included with FireFox, it is really good.
Look for the file '''moz_hosts''' in the folder '''places.sqlite'''.
Don't delete the file, just delete the information in the file. My file has over 3600 websites, which go back years!! I did not know they were there, but I was frustrated about not being able to get rid of them. They popped up every time I used the address bar. Clearing my history would not get rid of them.
This is where they are stored!! I found that by deleting the pesky web site from '''moz_hosts''', it does not appear in my address bar anymore!!!
I think that if I just delete all the websites in moz_hosts....

As long as you don't delete the file, just empty it, FireFox won't know the difference. It will just keep adding websites to it until you empty it again.
Why running "clear recent history" doesn't do this, I don't know. You are doing manually what "clear recent history" is not doing.
Please tell me if you see any flaw in this.

I work in a software company. we have developed an application and it is in production and we had a small problem. we have deifferent kinds of reports te users can get dynamicalty based on theirn requet parameters. so when we are deployingthe application on server and accessing it from the client machine(bothe the server and client are diferent i mean different machines) they get an information bar that

Internet Explorer . but they want it to be done thru program such that they dont want to see that message. i need a small help for this.

I'm not 100% sure, but doesn't all applets have the same popup bar? I guess you can tell your customers to turn off their popup blocker beforehand. (This is what my uni does with WebCT Vista)

The green bars that show when a site is safe have disappeared. I relied on those and would like to have them back.

how to create a progress bar which gets initiated once a button is pressed and fills up with every second elapsed? Mainly i want to create the same progress bar as it appears in windows or winrar kinda things where the expected time and elapsed time is shown.

- I would use a while loop when you don't know how long the progress will run...
- I would use a wait function in the loop set to wait for 1000ms to get an update each second...
- you need to now from your process the progress and the elapsed time (as said before) and additionally the state (running or not running). That's all you need to know to calc the progress bar...

How do you change the address bar into showing the key symbol, when it only shows the lock symbol?

I want to save my user data to my google mail account.
The first time I typed them in, the password dialogue box appeard, but I clicked on something else so it disappeard and since then never showed again on the google mail paige. (It works perfectly normal on other paiges)
The mozilla support site said to click on the key symbol in the adress bar, but there is no key symbol only a lock symbol. On other websites both are shown but not on the google mail website.
What do I do to open the password dialogue box again? Is there another way than to click on the key symbol?
I use mozilla firefox 20.0 on windows 7.

When you go to a website and enter a username and password that haven't been saved, Firefox will ask if you want them remembered. This question appears in an arrow panel connected to the key icon on the address bar.
If you click on other things, or switch tabs, then the question will disappear. But as long as you remain on the same web page, the key icon will remain visible so you can bring it up again manually.

How do I get my url bar to show the websites I visited before? I did not clean my history or anything. Nothing shows anymore.

Hey! I have restarted my computer during the night and this morning, when I opened firefox, the sites I visited before were not showing anymore in my url bar. I did not reset any history or anything. After visiting them too, they don't seem to save in my url bar (they still don't show after I visited them). All my url bar is showing are "suggestions".
