How do I restore emails on iCloud?

I have a Mac Air (main compuiter), a MacBook Pro (which I am phasing out),  and an iPhone 4, all running the latest available software.  I have an iCloud account.  I used to have a mobile.me account.
I have had a dot mac mail account for ages.  Then I got a mobile.me account.  When icloud came out, I got an iCloud account. Accordingly, my emailk addresses proliferated.  Multiple addresses and accounts were obviously unnecessary and confusing. I manged to eliminate the mobile.me account, and all my email files were placed successfully on iCloud.  The mobile.me account no longer showed up on the Mac Air or on the iPhone.  Mail and files were current (either "On my Mac" or on "iCloud."  Then I made a miserable mistake.
On my old Mac Pro computer, the mobile.me account still showed.  In an effort to "decommission" that computer, I made the mistake of deleting all the mobile.me files. My files disappeared everywhere:  on iCLoud, on my Mac Air, and on my iPhone!  I was able to enter my Time Capsule backup and restore the files to my Mac Air, my main computer, but I can not figure out how to restore these files to my iCloud account! Or on the iPhone.
Also, since the trasnfer from the Time Capsule, when accessing the Time Capasule through th top menu icon, I am unable to access ANY email backup any longer!!  Where are they, and how do I reach them?
Many thanks for any  assistance.

they where until you deleted them off original device.  you have to have a backup already made and restore from it.  see http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1766?viewlocale=en_US

how can i restore data from icloud to iphone

You mean an iCloud backup?  If so, first make sure your phone is running the same or higher version of iOS as the device that backed up was running.  If it isn't, you'll have to update it first in order to restore the backup.
Then go to Settings>General>Reset, tap Erase All Content and Settings, go the setup screens on the phone and when given the option, choose Restore from iCloud Backup and follow the prompts.  Be sure your phone is connected to wifi and your charger while it is restoring the backup.

how can i restore my old icloud adress?

Can you explain in more detail what the issue is? If you have an @icloud.com address you can't cancel it or lose it unless it's an alias - if it's the main address it's permanently associated with the account. Can you sign into the account? If so and you sign in at http://icloud.com can you access your mail there? Is it a question of setting up Mail? And it might help to know your operating system. (Please don't feel tempted to post the actual address.)

  • HT4859 How do I restore from an iCloud backup that isn't saved on my computer?

When I connected to iCloud with iOS 6, everything on my phone was somehow lost. The most recent backup still exists on my iCloud accound, but not my computer. How can I restore this iCloud save onto the phone without using the computer?

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
You'll need to restore the device from the settings menu, when it restarts the set up assistant will prompt you to restore from iCloud or as a new phone.

  • How do I restore from the icloud to my MacBook Pro?

I am not seeing how to RESTORE from iCloud back to my MacBook Pro... how do I do this?  My Harddrive died a few weeks ago and I want to recover whatever I have in the cloud.

    Howdy Mdelrusso,
It sounds like you are wanting to restore from your iCloud backup to your MacBook Pro.
iCloud backups are for iOS devices, and does not backup Mac computers.
    What iCloud backs up
You have important information on your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch. iCloud automatically backs up your device over Wi-Fi every day while it’s turned on, locked, and connected to a power source. With your device information backed up in iCloud, you can easily set up a new device or restore information on one you already have.

Time Machine is what Mac computers use to backup and restore data. Here is some more info about what Time Machine is and how it works.

If you were using iCloud for your Mail, Contacts, and/or Calendars you can turn on the iCloud functions to get that content back to your computer with this webpage:

  • Re: How can I restore DELETED APPS :- icloud, facebook, twitter on my iPhone 4S?(THE APPS IN QUESTION CAME WITH MY iPhone I DID NOT PURCHASE THEM).These apps are dimmed and not responsive on my phone. I cannot back up to icloud.

Little fingers have deleted the above mentioned apps!
THE APPS IN QUESTION CAME WITH MY iPHONE.
    I DID NOT PURCHASE THEM!
HOW CAN I RESTORE THEM, THEY ARE NOT LISTED IN THE APP STORE????

    Hey Clyde71,
Thanks for the question. From your description, it sounds like various Account Settings have been greyed out in your Settings application (iCloud, Facebook, Twitter). The cause for these being greyed out is a restriction setup on your iPhone. You'll probably see that Restrictions are turned "On" in Settings > General.
You'll want to disable the restriction "Allow Changes: Accounts". For more information on restrictions, see this article:
    iOS: Understanding Restrictions (Parental Controls)

  • How can I restore data from iCloud

My iPad locked up last night and I had to restore to factory settings to make it operable.  During the process it asked me if I wanted to restore my data and it told me that the latest and only backup was from a few minutes before that time which was AFTER all my stuff got wiped out.  I was able to resync some apps and all my music from iTunes, but I lost a ton of pictures and other files that I thought were SUPPOSED to be safe on iCloud.
So I start reading about restoring data from iCloud and apparently Apple only does this on a NEW device.  What a load of crap!
Does anyone have any idea how I can get my data from the stupid iCloud to my stupid iPad?

The "Apple data" such as contacts, calendars, notes, etc. are not backed up to an iCloud backup, since they reside in the special databases on iCloud.  If you delete some data from a device (e.g. one contact), it is deleted from that device, from iCloud's database and thus from all other devices connected to that iCloud account.
Hence performing a restore from an iCloud backup will not help.
However, if that data was ever on a computer (assuming the computer also synced data from iCloud) and if you consistently perform backups using something like Time Machine on a mac or any number of backup programs on Windows, then you should be able to restore the data from that backup.  For example, on a mac, invoke the contacts app then choose Enter Time Machine from the Time Machine icon on the main toolbar.  That will allow you to go back in time and choose an older backup to restore.
If you have an iTunes backup on the computer, I'm not really sure that also includes the Apple data stored on iCloud.  It should have the local data.  For example, Contacts can be under "iCloud" or "On My Mac" (or whatever computer you use).  An iTunes restore should restore the data on your computer.
The whole idea regarding an iCloud backup is that if your device ever fails and must be replaced or reset, the backup will restore all the data as it was at the time of the last backup.   The restore will return all the device's settings such as iCloud login, on/off states of data to connect to (like contacts).  Once that's done, the device will connect to iCloud and download the current data.
    IMPORTANT...
Photos should be regularly synced to a computer (like you store photos from a digital camera) using either USB via iTunes (on a mac use iPhoto or Aperture to move them to an album) or using photo stream.  If you have been doing that, then you can sync those photos back to your device.
If you haven't been saving photos except relying on iCloud to store them in a backup, then that is risky, as many users have discovered.  I'm afraid I have no advice in this case - there is no "cure".

  • How can I restore my latest iCloud backup from my iPhone 4 to my new iPhone 5?

How can I use the my latest iCloud backup from my iPhone 4 to update all my apps on my new iPhone 5?  I just registered it and it is a later version of the backup.  Can I reboot it now that I have a more current backup from my iPhone 4?

Restoring to an iCloud backup has to be done in the initial setup process.  If you have already set up your iPhone 5 you will have to erase it and go back through the setup again.  If you have any data on your phone now that is not in the backup that you are restoring to you'll need to do that first.  Then go to Settings>General>Reset and tap Erase All Content and Settings.  You will then go through the setup screens as you did when the phone was new. When given the option, choose Restore from iCloud Backup (see image below).  Be sure you are connected to wifi and your charger as this will take some time to finish.

  • How to delete restored contacts in iCloud?

I've encountered an issue that's a 180 from the typical inquiry:  how to delete restored contacts.
Several months ago I deleted many of my iCloud Contacts as the list was becoming unwieldy.  (Used as a contact management database for business, it was numbering in the thousands and slow to search, load, etc.)  All of my devices were synced and the process was smooth.
Until yesterday, when out of the blue, all of the deleted contacts returned to iCloud, iPhone and Address Book.  No settings from the day prior had been changed.
So, is there a way to re-delete all of the unwanted contacts?  Yes, I can go back and manually delete all of them, but that's time consuming, and what's to prevent them from magically returning?

    Hey mzhill78
Remove you icloud contact information on all your IOS devices, go to the icloud setting on you ios device and turn off the addressbook syncing, when it asks you "do you want to remove keep the address on your ips device you say NO...  So now your MacBook is the only thing syncing too the icloud.
Go to Addresbook and look for the menu option find duplicates.
After that wait for your laptop to sync this too icloud.  to check give it about 2 min depending on how many changes log into your icloud account at www.icloud.com and check too see if the syncing has updated whats in the cloud.
If it has then urn on your addressbook syncing in iclouud settings on your IOS devices and all should be back too normal.
    Hope it helps,
If this has sloved your problem please mark it as Solved thank you..

How do I restore my backup from ICloud onto my new iPhone?

When setting it up you will be given the option to Restore from iCloud Backup (see image below).  Select this, be sure you're connected to wifi and your external charger as restoring from an iCloud backup can sometimes take quite a while to complete.
If you already set up your new phone, go to Settings>General>Reset>Erase All Content & Settings and start over.

  • How do you restore email?

I had to get a new hard disk. I had backed up my computer with time machine on a separate hard drive. I have restored the apps but how do I restore my email messages?

If you make sure the Mail application is active when you enter Time Machine, you can see a history of your email messages.  I just tried it on my Macbook and restoring an email message created a new folder in the Mail app called recovered messages.
