I'm new to this.  How do I transfer a book in Adobe Digital Editions to my BlackBerry Playbook?  Please help

  • Can no longer see my purchased books in Adobe Digital Edition software

Because my purchased books are no longer listed on my Adobe Digital Edition software, they can no longer be downloaded into my E-Reader (due to Rights protection).  I do not understand why they disappeared from the Purchased list.  I would like Adobe to Re-install into my purchased list all my purchased books.  Would like some help with that.

Very nice device the PRS-350, my wife and I both have them.
Not exactly sure how much you have updated, so some of these comments may not be to the point ....
Copying to the Sony should have worked as long as it is still registered with the ID used when you bought the books.
Maybe the Sony lost its registration when you did Sony updates, and you need to reregister it?
Nothing will work with a different ID; you can change the email address assocated with the old ID,
but can't read books with a device registered with a different ID or transer them to a new ID.
Probably when you updated your software ADE lost its repository.
Adobe does not remember your books in any 'cloud' associated with your ID,
the ID is just used to unlock the files you still have that are associated with the ID.
Try opening the books on the USB on ADE (ctrl-O, menu/File/Add to Library).
They should then appear again in the ADE library and you should be able to copy to the Sony (assuming registrations all correct).
Or, if you want the books always available on the computer even without the USB,
copy from USB to computer, then use ADE to open the copies on the computer.
If ADE won't read the books either it is probably not correctly registered (with the original ID).
One possibility is that ADE got confused about registration when you reinstalled (it often does).
    See ***1 note at end.
Also, there is a bug in ADE2.0/2.0.1 that means they Sony devices won't work with library books on that ADE release.
If you want to use library books, use the older more reliable version of ADE.
    See ***2.
    Good luck.

Sometimes ADE gets its registration/activation confused and in a semi-authorized state.
Uninstalling and reinstalling does not help.
Unfortunately, it often then gives misleading error messages about what is wrong.
A common incorrect message informs you that the ID is already in use on another computer and cannot be reused.
This can often be resolved by completely removing any authorization using ctrl-shift-D to the Library screen on ADE (cmd-shift-D if on Mac).
Restart ADE, and then reauthorize with your (old) Adobe ID.
In extreme cases on the mac, the following extra step has helped some people.  Navigate to /Users//Library/Application Support/Adobe/Digital Editions and drag the activation.dat file to the trash. If you are using 10.7, see Access hidden user library files | Mac OS 10.7 Lion. http://forums.adobe.com/thread/1265248?tstart=0

There are lots of bugs in ADE2.0 (and 2.0.1).  Try replacing ADE2.0 with the older but more reliable v1.7.2.
(You can have them both installed at once if you like.)
Version 1.7.2, it is a little difficult to find, available on Adobe site for Windows and for Mac.

  • Unable to download library ebooks to Adobe Digital Editions....

I have always been able to do this. Have not used it for a couple months and now after downloading the library ebook, the book does not show on the ADE "screen". How can I fix this? I miss my library books! TIA

I was having the same problem with the same error message which was quite frustrating, but I finally got it to work. Trying another browser did not work, trying to remove and reinstall the software did not work either. What finally worked was deauthorizing the computer and then authorizing it again. However, that was not so simple as every time I tried within Digital Editions it would not let me, kept giving me a message saying 'try again sometime later'. So, then I typed in something like 'can't deauthorize computer' and that is where things started working. Someone left instructions for deauthorizing on another post which I have pasted below for your convenience. Once I went through these steps I went back to digital editions, authorized the computer, and I was finally able to download my library books - was quite a frustrating process!
If due to some reason, you are unable to deauthorize ADE, follow the below steps:
Mac: Navigate to /Users//Library/Application Support/Adobe/Digital Editions and drag the activation.dat file to the trash.
    ADE will be deauthorized now.
    Now Authorize ADE again.
    Windows:
    Choose Start > Run.
In the Open text box, type regedit and then press Enter. The Registry Editor opens.
In the left pane of the Registry Editor, locate the following registry key:
    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Adobe\Adept
Right-click the Adept key and choose Delete.
In the Confirm Key Delete dialog, click OK.
    Your authorization will be deleted.
    ADE will be deauthorized now.
    Now Authorize ADE again.

  • Issue on copyng an e-book from adobe digital editions 2.0 to my pocket book

The issue is the impossibility to copy an e-book from adobe digital editions 2.0 to my pocket book. In particular, it appears a pop-up with an attention signal in which is written "impossible to write the destination file". How could I solve that issue?
    Thanks
    Mario

Modern kobo books should just use regular Adobe DRM and be readable on compatible ereaders that are authorized to the correct Adobe ID.
I understand older kobo book had different DRM: but I wouldn't expect those to
When Adobe DRM book information say 'no copying', that generally means no copying outside those Adobe DRM limitations.
You should be able to copy within the restrictions.  You can double-check that with the sellers (Kobo).
    Just double-checking
the pocket book is Adobe DRM compatible?
that you have authorized your pocket book with your current Adobe ID?
menu/Help/Authorize Device when plugged into ADE:  Library/Authorize Device if using the older more reliable ADE 1.7.2
If the pocket book is already authorized but to a different ID, you will need to deauthorize it first, ctrl-shift-E to ADE with device plugged in (or cmd-shift-E on Mac).
Be aware that will lose the ability to read DRM books authorized with the previous ID.

  • How do I change my device authorisation details in Adobe Digital Editions?

I recently changed my email and have updated my Adobe ID but Adobe Digital Editions still holds the old ID and doesn't seem to give me an option to change.  There are no instructions or FAQ's about the issue - only how to set an ID etc up. The only thing I've thought is to delete ADE from my computer and reload it, but I don't want to lose the books I have on there already....
    Cheers

Do you want to de-authorize your ADE and Authorize back with your new account?
    To De-authorize:
    Go to Library view mode
    Press Ctrl+Shift+D
    To Authorize:
    Press Ctrl+Shift+U
To know more about ADE and other shortcuts , download Getting Started with Adobe Digital Editions
Note: If you De-authorize and account and authorize again with a different account, you can't read the book already downloaded with the older account. You can also have a look at, http://www.datalogics.com/pdf/doc/acs/JointAccountGuide.pdf .

If I try to open the item on my Overdrive account with a device other than the one I originally used when I downloaded the ebokk,  it gives me an error code "Fullfill  2004. • Help downloading an e-book to adobe digital editions

I have a book for my college course I purchased through academic pub.  The site required me to download Adobe Digital Editions, which i did.  However, when I click to download the book, I get a message that says "Adobe Reader could not open 'URLLink(10).acsm' because it is either not a supported file type or because the file has been damaged (for example, it was sent as an email attachment and wasn't correctly decoded".

  • Problem copying Epub files to Sony 505 for library ebooks using Adobe Digital Editions.

I am using Adobe Digital Editions to copy library ebooks to my Sony 505 using a Vista Home Premium 64 bit machine.
Adobe PDF files successfully copy and are readable.
However, when a subsequent copy is done for any Epub book from the library the previously copied PDF files change
to proprietary on the 505. They are unreadable and show as one page long.  The Epub book is the only library book that is
    now readable.
I have all of the latest software on the PC (it is only one month old) and the latest firmware on the Sony 505.
I have also reformatted my internal memory on the Sony 505, but this did not have any affect.
    Any suggestions?

You could have the issue whereby .acsm files do not get properly registered.

One solution to may issues with ADE2.0 is to use the more reliable v1.7.2,
Try that and see if it helps.
Version 1.7.2, it is a little difficult to find, available on Adobe site for Windows and for Mac.
