How do I revert Safari tabs back to pre-6.0 size?

The new resizable tabs are as ugly as sin. Is there any way to revert them back to a normal, standard size no matter how many tabs are open? Thanks.

    You cannot delete Safari.
It is either on another page, in a folder, or you have restirctiosn set.
Check all three of these possibiities.

  • How can I get the tabs back where they belong beneath the address bar , NOT on top ???

how can I get the tabs back where they belong beneath the address bar , NOT on top ???
they are on top, which puts the address bar at a variable position depending on how many tab rows exist - makes a moving target for navigating to across my dual 24 inch screens
I tried your "solution" using about:config and setting browser.tab.on.top or whatever to false, but that had NO effect
    Maybe because TabMixPlus is installed?
It does allow putting the tabs all the way at the bottom, but I don't like that either.
PLEASE, give me the address bar at TOP with tabs under that!!!
Also, I don't want FlashGot to be at the right of the address bar!!!

why should we use yet another add on to get the tabs back at the bottom? Big mistake.
Moreover, why make FF look more like Chrome? If I wanted Chrome, i would have installed it long time ago.
FF 29.0 is NOT an improvement.
    Nasty piece of mud.

  • How do I get my tabs back into the main window?

I've had a problem with an add-on displaying a small extra window every time I open a session for some months now: I know you're supposed to try disabling and re-enabling every add-on you've got to find out which one is responsible, but this is a work computer and with all the add-ons I have, it would take too long, so I've just closed the extra window every time and got on with my work. However, for some reason today my forty-odd tabs have all opened in the small extra window, which has no tab bar, navigation bar or menu button. How do I get my tabs back into the main window of Firefox, or alternatively get that window to behave like a normal Firefox window so I can use it?

It is possible that there is a problem with the files sessionstore.js and sessionstore.bak in the Firefox Profile Folder.
Delete the sessionstore.js file and possible sessionstore-##.js files with a number and sessionstore.bak in the Firefox Profile Folder.
*Help > Troubleshooting Information > Profile Directory: Open Containing Folder
    *http://kb.mozillazine.org/Profile_folder_-_Firefox
Deleting sessionstore.js will cause App Tabs and Tab Groups and open and closed (undo) tabs to get lost, so you will have to create them again (make a note or bookmark them).

You can use this button to go to the Firefox profile folder:

    - You do have iTunes version 11 on the computer, right. Saying the latest is not sufficient.
    - Have you tried everthing here:
iOS: Device not recognized in iTunes for Windows
    - You should

Your library/media will not be affected.

  • My tab under inspector disappeared, I can't see my font size or paragraph spacing anymore. How do I get my tab back?

On pages, my tab under inspector disappeared, I can't see my font size or paragraph spacing anymore. How do I get my tab back?

The Inspector Icon does not have a "tab", it is just a shortcut button.
Menu > View > Show Inspector
command option i does the same thing showing and hiding the Inspector.
Because the Inspector/s are movable windows, if you can't see them they maybe somewhere off your screen or half tucked away partially out of sight.

  • Safari 4 - How can I get smaller Tabs back?

I used to have 23 Tabs open. Then came the update to 4.0.
Now I can only access 18 Tabs - the rest can be found under the >> menu.
How can I make the Tabs smaller so that all 23 fit again on the screen width?

Apple changed the look of Tabs with the final version of Safari.
Download/Install 3rd party add-on Glims. When installed, you'll find Glims options as a separate panel in Safari Preferences. There are more options for Tabs including a smaller sizing. Also, many other useful features to enhance Safari.

  • How do I revert OS X back to a time before the last update on 28th June?

    Hi.
Last Tuesday, 28th June, I authorised Mac Update to update two things. One was something to do with my Epson printer, and the other was some sort of security update for Mac OS X itself. The update, presumably the latter part, invoked a requirement to restart my Mac.
Since then things have not been good.
I have noticed that the fans in my MacBook Pro are on more or less continuously, even when it is asleep. Prior to last Tuesday they hardly ever ran, even when I was using it. (According to iStat my CPU is currently 76 degrees C, and both fans are running at about 6000 rpm.)
When I try to quit Safari it doesn't quit straight away as it used to. Instead I get the spinning ball for a while and then, after it quits I get a 'Safari quit unexpectedly' report, even though it was I who initiated the quitting...
Several apps have been acting oddly too, such as MS Word taking ages to launch.
So I want to revert my MacBook Pro to how it was prior to this last update. I have Time Machine enabled, but I can't work out how to get the actual OS back to a state it was on a date prior to 28th June. The OS isn't in the Apps folder, and I can't work out where it might be.
Can someone please point me in the right direction, or is this something that Time Machine cannot do?

  • How do I get my tabs back after firefox was updated.

My v6 of Firefox was crashing so I updated to v24.0. I had a lot of tabs (65) open before the update and now they are gone, but my bookmarks are all there. Can I get my tabs back or are they all "gone with the wind"?
    TIA....
    [running Win XP Pro]

Hi winsig, I don't know what that first reply was about!
Step 1 would be to salvage your sessionstore files and make backup copies before exiting Firefox or making any other changes.
Open your active Firefox profile folder (personal settings folder) using
Help > Troubleshooting Information > "Show Folder" button
Copy all files that start with sessionstore to a safe location such as your documents folder.
Does the sessionstore.bak file look as though it has a timestamp of your last good session, or something later?
You might also check to see whether Firefox automatically performed a Reset during your upgrade. In that case, you may find a second profile in one of these two locations:
    (1) Windows desktop, named "Old Firefox Data"
    (2) Firefox profiles folder (one level up from your active profile folder)
If you find either of those, make backups of those sessionstore files as well (under different names or in a different folder to avoid overwriting)
If you have anything promising, we can discuss how to swap sessionstore files and check whether any of them have your missing tabs.

  • How can I put the tabs back under my toolbar?

I stupidly set firefox to automatically update, and the newest version has fundamental UI changes that I absolutely hate with the fire of a thousand suns. I want my tabs back where I had them, directly over the content of the page, underneath the address bar and my quicklinks bar, the only place the tabs should ever be. The exact place where the information the tabs provide ("What page am I looking at?") is the most useful. Only someone with a severe head injury would think the tabs should be way up at the top of the application. They provide no useful information at the top of the screen. Placing them directly above the content they control is the most sensible place for the tabs to be.

You can use any of the following add-ons.
    * https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/tabs-on-bottom/
    * https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/fdgueux-tabs-on-bottom/
    * https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/classicthemerestorer/
If you don't want to install an add-on, put the following style in the ''userChrome.css'' file and restart Firefox. You can use [https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/stylish/ the Stylish add-on] instead, if you have it installed.

  • How do I put my tabs back up beside the orange firefox drop down menu?

I have an Acer Mini. In order to optimize screen space, I closed most of the toolbars down, leaving the navigation bar and the tabs on top. They appeared in the blue space beside the orange "firefox" drop down menu. I turned away from the laptop to tend to my baby and when I turned back, my 2 yr old was mashing keys. I don't know what he did, but now I can't get the tabs back up there.

Upper-right corner of Firefox, hit the center of the 3 buttons to Maximize the browser window.

  • How do I get my tabs back in safari on iPad

Hi, originally every time I went into Safari all my tabs stayed open and there were hundreds of them.
I searched the forum and it advised to go to the safari home page, click on private, then delete all tabs, then click on private again.
But now if I go into safari and I want to flick between tabs I have to click on the + sign.... But the tabs stay there next time I open safari.
I just want to be able to open a new tab if I want to, but not have it still there when I open safari again.  Please help!

Your tabs will remain the next time you open Safari. There is no way to change that behavior.
Of course, you can close a Tab when desired by touching the "x" at the left side of the tab.
