How do I save "Sent" messages when sending from the ipad2?

By default sent items should be saved in your Sent folder. For IMAP type accounts you should be able to change that by selecting the account in Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars , then selecting 'Account' on the popup for it and then 'Advanced' at the bottom of the next popup

  • How do I forward text messages to my email?

How do I forward text messages to my email? I watch my email inputs. It would be convenient to have announcements of text messages arrive via email. Oherwise I have to login to comcast every time I want to find out about text messages. Being of the text-message-illiterate generation, I get very few text messages. So checking for them is mostly futile. If they were forwarded to my email, I would not have to look in two different places.

After considerable poking around I found the right preferences page. I have forwarded ny text messages to my email !

  • How do i save my contacts in my itunes acct

how do i save my contacts in my itunes acct?

iTunes does not save your contacts.  You can back them up with iCloud and/or sync them with an app on your compter.  When you do a back up of your phone, contacts should be saved, but it's not guaranteed, and you would have to do a restore to get them back anyway.  If you have a pc, the most often used is MS Outlook, but there are other apps available if you don't have that.  Search the Apple store for "contacts".

  • HT4191 I have Notes that transferred to email when I set up a new email acct. They no longer appear in Notes. I can only access them in the email acct. How do I get them out of the email acct and back to the Notes app?

I have Notes that transferred to an Email acct when I set up the acct. The Notes no longer appear in the Notes app only in the Email acct. How do I get them out of the Email acct and back to Notes? I stopped at an Apple store and they told me to copy them from the email back to Notes. But when I was in the email acct, I could not find a way to copy them. Shouldn't Notes remain in Notes unless I specifically send them somewhere else?

Go into Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars, select that email account on the right-hand side of the screen and turn Notes 'on' for it - they should then appear in the Notes app instead of as an email folder in the Mail app (they will still be linked to that email account, so you may need to tap the 'Accounts' button at at the top left of the list of notes)

  • How can I save text messages to my Mac and will that reduce "Other" in storage?

I have hundreds (or more) of text messages on my iPhone 5 that for personal reasons, I want to save. There are far too many to do screenshots. I want to save them to my MacBook Pro Retina in a readable and printable format. The reason is that I read that text messages can cause the "Other" storage to be higher. My "Other" is over 6 GB on a 16 GB iphone. Therefore I want to save texts, print them, and delete from phone.
First question: Is it true that text messages contribute to the size of "Other"?
Second question: How can I save texts to Mac in readable format so they could be printed?
Third question: How in the world do I delete all these texts from my iPhone efficiently? Is there a way to "mass delete"?
When you are answering this, perhaps it is noteworthy that:
    (a) I've had an iPhone since a 3G in 2009, and the texts I want to save have been accumulating since then.
    (b) My "Other" has gradually gotten larger over the years.
    (c)  I sync with itunes regularly.
    (d) I've never had any problems with an iphone or with my data.
    (e) I've restored from backup only three times, when I upgraded to the iphone 4, 4S, and 5.
I want to get this "Other" cleared up before I upgrade to the iphone 5S.
    Thank you.

You can select to export a folder to save as a .mbox file. This file would need to be imported if you wanted to view the messages.
    Select mailbox (folder)
Under Mailbox in the Menu bar select Export Mailbox...

  • How can I save mail messages to my computer and not my mail program

My mail program seems to be slow.  I'm not sure why.  I get the spinning ball frequently.  I need to save mail messages sometimes for a few years and there are hundreds of emails. Is it better to save them on my computer than my mail program?  I may need to retrieve them at some other time so they need to be readable.  Is that possible?
    I'm using OS X 10.9.4. I have a 3.06 GHz processor and 12 GB of memory.  Thanks

  • How do I save a messages in text, NOT template or file?

I want to be able to save an email from outlook, gmail, Hotmail, or any other format as a plain text or rich text message. Several of my emails are readable by TB24, but the only option for saving them is the Template or file. This is fine for those messages already in the mailbox, but if I can read an archived message in TB format, I should be able to save it in the same fashion. I guess a converter plugin is needed or a tutorial on how to properly save emails from other formats. Ex I open a folder containing an email from a past Outlook acct, The email can be deciphered by TB24, (ie it opens it), but when I try to save it to file(which gives options for format), it doesn't respond to my request!! Am I not doing something correctly or does the TB24 program "block" that function because of it is not in the TB24 mailbox? Baffling and frustrating when try to find a particular message from numerous formats. Thanks to all those who know more than I about this.

'''File|Save As|File''' then in the resulting dialogue, choose "text" file type when saving. Of course in doing so you lose all formatting and attachments.
How do you search and index messages when saved as independent and free-standing text files? I keep email correspondence within the email client specifically because the tools to manage and search are effective and efficient. In fact I occasionally email myself something that needs to be preserved simply because as email it is so easy and convenient to find and retrieve. Searching for text in documents in Windows has become a chore.
I'm not at all sure why you want to open email messages from other environments in Thunderbird, only to save them as text files. But have you tried "Edit As New" to see if that will offer other save options?
What format(s) are these other messages from outlook, gmail, windows live saved in then?
Don't forget simple old select all, copy and paste to save message content in any other document type.

  • How can I save mail messages on iPad

I (strictly, my wife) have just bought a WiFi-only iPad to replace an ageing MacBook, and I also have an iMac.  I have a need to store and organize a limited number of Mail messages in the iPad, such that they are available in the future when I do not have internet access - i.e. while travelling.  These are varied, but typically contain reference information, reservation details, receipts, directions, etc.
Previously, this was easy to do with the MacBook.  I set up our GMail account as POP3, and filed such messages as we needed in as many Filed Mail mailboxes as I wanted.  Unfortunately, if you set up a Mail account as POP on the iPad, you can't define Filed Mail mailboxes.  And if you set up the account as IMAP, you don't have access to your filed mail when not connected to the internet.  So you're damned if you do, and damned if you don't.
So here's the question.  Is there any organised way to save messages permanently on the iPad?  And any attachments need to be kept as well.  While strictly they no longer need to be in Mail format (i.e. can't be forwarded or replied to), that would be a less convenient approach, and those all-important attachments would have to be dealt with.  But I am willing to be flexible.
And before anyone says that POP will not work with multiple devices, GMail POP has a feature that allows the same email to be downloaded to multiple devices as well as being held on the server if required, and all sent emails are also echoed back to all devices (the "recent" feature).  This has worked fantastically up to now.
    Any help would be appreciated.

Do you need to be able to initiate this entirely from the iPad, or would it be acceptable to have to use one of your Macs when you save one of the limited number of messages? If involving a Mac would be acceptable, I can see ways to work around the iPad's lack of local mailbox storage.
You could use one of the various free cloud storage services that allow general file storage and local retention on the iPad (for example, Dropbox or Dump Truck, but not iCloud).
For Dropbox, you would make a folder for this cluster of saved messages inside Dropbix. For each message you want to save, create a folder inside that cluster folder, do a "Save As..." in Mac Mail.app for the text body, then a "Save Attachments..." if appropriate. (The inner folder wouldn't be strictly necessary for messages without attachments, but I suggest it for consistency.)
The key part is to open Dropbox on the iPad and mark the message and attachments as favorites (starred). That causes Dropbox to preload them on the iPad and retain them there until they are unstarred (lose favor).
You could probably do something similar with Evernote and favorites.
