How do I save a video permanently ?

Now that I know how to save a photo permanently : In the continuous series of saving things (save money, save energy, save water, save gasoline--neh...more important :
How do I save a video (from YouTube for example ) and keeping full motion ?
I downloaded Jing (www.jingproject.com)
and it works but there's a problem (see below the email conversation I had with them)
Does anyone know another device ? there are a few but not for Mac.
-----------email exchange with technical support--------
When I play a video that I recorded from YouTube, the image is jerky. The original is fine when I just watch it, but the recorded version shows an still image for 10 seconds then go to the next image. It doesn't show what's in between.
I can see the time (elapsed/remain) on the YouTube screen and It goes from elapsed time: 10 seconds, immediately to elapsed time: 20 seconds. Again the original is fine. It has zoom scenes and the Jing version just show the image from far then from close but not the actual movement of zooming in.
Thank you for contacting Techsmith with your concerns.
Jing is a simple tool created for screen recording. It typically does not handle full-motion video very well, and videos captured from the web, such as youTube videos, will most likely become considerably large compared to screen videos, and will potentially drop frames, especially if you are on a PPC G4 or G5.
Please let me know if you have any further questions.
Regards,
Casey

    Thanks for the follow up.
    In Premiere Elements 13/13.1, your export choices are in the Publish+Share section of the project. There are several choices and sub-choices.
    Example: Publish+Share/Computer/and then a list of choices under that, such as, MPEG, AVI, AVCHD, XAVC-S, Windows Media, QuickTime, Image, Audio.
    And each has Presets which define the export settings. Adobe offers default settings which are usually optimized ones. But, it also allows you to customize the preset selected. You do that by clicking on the Advanced Button of the selected preset and customizing the settings under the Video Tab, Audio Tab, and, if applicable, Multiplexer Tab.
    From what you wrote, I thought that you might be asking about exporting a video with a video codec = Photo JPEG.
    To do that you would to to
    Publish+Share
    Computer
    QuickTime
    with Presets = either the one for 4:3 of 16:9 as appropriate for your project,
    and then clicking on the Advanced Button, and then the Video Tab under the Advanced Button.
    Then selecting Photo JPEG for the video codec field.
    Tip: The QuickTime choice is not seen unless you scroll down the list of Computer choices. Use the thin scroll bar to the right of the Computer choices.
    Please explore Premiere Elements 13/13.1's Publish+Share/Disc/DVD with standard or widescreen preset for your creation of the DVD-VIDEO on DVD disc.
    The Premiere Elements timeline destined for this choice could consistent of supported photos and or videos.
    Please consider.
    Any questions and need clarification, please do not hesitate to ask.

    In Windows how can I save a video just played by Flash Player?

    This is what I ended up doing.  I put the FLVPlayback inside a movieclip and put this on the first frame:
    stop();
    var vidTime:Number=0;
    on the frame that the video plays on I have the video and a close button (which is a movieclip) and I put the following script:
    if(vidTime>0)
        htMeasVid.seek(vidTime);
    close_btn.addEventListener(Event.ENTER_FRAME, seekCount);
    close_btn.addEventListener(MouseEvent.MOUSE_UP, closeBtnUp);
    function seekCount(e:Event):void
         vidTime=htMeasVid.playheadTime;
    function closeBtnUp(e:MouseEvent):void
        e.currentTarget.parent.play();
    on the following frame I have this code:
    close_btn.removeEventListener(Event.ENTER_FRAME, seekCount);
    htMeasVid.stop();
    and then on the last frame I have this:
    gotoAndStop(2);
    so that it doesn't reset the vidTime variable to 0.
    Thanks again for the help.

  • How can I save iTunes videos in my icloud?

    Hi how can i Save iTunes videos in my icloud?

    You can't save your iTunes films and/or TV programmes in the cloud, whether they will show in the cloud for redownloading in the Purchased tab in the iTunes app depends upon what country that you are in (they can't be redownloaded in all countries) and whether they remain in your country's store (rights-holders occasionally remove their items).
    You can copy your iTunes downloads to your computer's iTunes library via File > Devices > Transfer Purchases so that you can take a backup copy of them, and not have to rely on being able to redownload them from the store.

  • How do i save a video from an email?

    does anyone know how to save a video to my camera roll from an email? i have ios7. ive tried everything i can think of, someone help!

    If you are getting an "Open In" prompt, this means the video is not in an iPhone compatible format. If the video is in an iPhone compatible format, you should have the Save Video selection. There are some 3rd party apps that allow for viewing video received with an email that are not in an iPhone compatible format but this doesn't mean you can save the video to the Camera Roll.
    http://www.apple.com/iphone/specs.html
    Video formats supported: H.264 video up to 1080p, 30 frames per second, High Profile level 4.1 with AAC-LC audio up to 160 Kbps, 48kHz, stereo audio in .m4v, .mp4, and .mov file formats; MPEG-4 video up to 2.5 Mbps, 640 by 480 pixels, 30 frames per second, Simple Profile with AAC-LC audio up to 160 Kbps per channel, 48kHz, stereo audio in .m4v, .mp4, and .mov file formats; Motion JPEG (M-JPEG) up to 35 Mbps, 1280 by 720 pixels, 30 frames per second, audio in ulaw, PCM stereo audio in .avi file format.

    Hello tronsonation,
    Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.
    If you want to be using an external hard drive to store your iMovie data, then all you need to do is move your iMovie library to the external drive.  To learn more about this, please review the information in the link below.

  • How do I save a video after editing it?

    I just opened up an mp4 file, trimmed it and now wish to save the edited video. However, it seems I'm only able to save the Adobe project file and not the actual video itself. If 'export' is what I'm supposed to do, how do I export it as an mp4 file, the same format it's already in?
    Thanks

    Ghanpoh,
    It really depends on what it is, exactly, that you wish to do. There are basically four ways to "save."
    1.) As you note, Save, Save_As and Save_as_a_Copy are for saving the Project file ONLY. I posted an article here on the differences amongst the three and why one would choose one over the others.
    2.) Archiver - this is accessed from the Toolbar and can "save" the Project with the media files in a couple of forms. This is used when a Project is complete, and one wishes to clear their HDD, but wants an "archived" copy of the Project with all media, in case they have to come back to it later.
    3.) Export - this is used to send the edited media to an AV file for play, distribution, etc. It is limited in formats, but is the quickest way to, well "export" you edited file (or part of it, using the WAB [Work Area Bar] to an AV file. Export>Movie is probably the most common.
    4.) Share - similar to Export, this is used when on is going to "export" the edited file to another medium, usually a "streaming" medium, like the Web, but also offers a myriad of other formats, like WMV (many flavors), or MOV (again, many flavors).
    The choice will be based on what the editor needs and wishes.
    Please tell us what you wish to do with your edited material, and someone can suggest the best method for you.
    Good luck,
    Hunt

  • How do I save my video project as a data file?

    I am preparing a video project on a deadline and they have requested I send it to them in a data file format. I don't see where I can save it that way. Help!

    mickeyb
    If you transfer the computer hard drive saved project file to a USB flash drive or to burned to disc as data disc with 3rd party software, the project file will be of little use without its source media and Premiere Elements version that supports it. If your associates are asking for a project file, then consider archiving the project, using Premiere Elements Editor with File Menu/Project Archiver and the Copy Project option. That will save copy of project file plus copies of source media in a Copied Folder to the computer hard drive. This Folder can then be transferred to a USB Flash Drive. The recipient still needs Premiere Elements to open the copy of the project file from the Copied Folder on the USB Flash Drive inserted into the recipient's computer. If a Movie Menu is included with the project, then the following needs to be considered
    ATR Premiere Elements Troubleshooting: PE12: Archiving Projects With Disc Menus
    Is the request for project as data file related to your associates wanting
    a. to edit the project
    or
    b. see what the project looks like in its most current version?
    If "b", you might want to think about exporting the Timeline to a AVCHD.mp4 files and saving it as .mp4 data to the computer hard drive or USB Flash Drive. Premiere Elements does not support menus for Timeline content saved to file.
    Please review and consider and then we can discuss this further.
    Thank you.

    FCP does not support non-standard frame ratios like vertical video. There is a complex workaround that allows you to do this
