How do I set my bookmark toolbar to text and all other toolbars to icons?
It seems I can change all toolbars to either be text or icons. I want the look of Firefox 3. In Firefox 3 the bookmarks toolbar was text only wile the navigation toolbar was icons. I can't figure out how to have my Back/Forward/Home buttons be icons with my Bookmarks in the toolbar be text only.

There are a couple of smart folders actually that i want in coverflow mode only, but the rest i want in icon view. Is there a way to do this? i thought i had it figured out, but then it would revert back to the icon view for everything.
Open one of the folders that keeps changing. Set it to the view mode you prefer. Press Command-J (Show View Options in View menu).
At the top of the View Options screen is an item which allows one to set "Always open in xxx view". Chekmark that.
Repeat for each folder you want.
This is a per-folder setting. Note that the View Options screen is 'live" - you can leave it open, and as you open successive folders it will display the settings for each in turn. -
Bookmarks toolbar shows icons AND text and won't change to icons only, like in vers 4
Running Firefox 4.0.1 over Windows XP. In previous version, Bookmarks Toolbar showed only Icons, which expanded to Icons plus Text when cursor hovered over the Icon. Now the brute shows Icons AND Text, and refuses to customise to Icons only, even though that's how it is set. Strangely, it will customise to Text only. If I set it to show Icons and Text, I can't see any change at all, it's like the relevant lines of code are identical, or the drop down choices concerned both point to the same line of code (if you follow what I'm getting at). Sorry it's a bit verbose!
Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).

I’m combining several InDesign files into one PDF, with several hundred text links across the different sections, as well as within each. The cross-document (section) Text Anchor Hyperlinks work fine in my workspace - but when I change the file location, they are no longer active (other links, bookmarks remain intact).
How do I set up InDesign cross-document Text Anchor Hyperlinks so that when the files are moved, they remain active?They seem to be a lot of extra work, and I don't see what the additional benefit is. I have several hundred links to do. I would appreciate learning what the benefit is, as I don't mind the extra effort if it will deliver the desired results.

As you said you could do it at the report level and also at the universe level.
One more way is to create the filters in the universe levele and add them in thequery filter.
Ex: in the filter you need to write :
Column1 is null and and column 2 is not null etc.

It seems strange to me that no internet site like Apple, Yahoo or Google offers this as a free service much as the email group services are free services.
SteveI think the app GroupMe might do what you want. You might also try contacting your carrier. My carrier offered some fancy group texting service for a while but they never really advertised it so, unless you asked, you never would have known. But, GroupMe is available in the app store. There are lots of other apps that also do group texting but it seems to be the one that gets recommended the most.

As I mentioned earlier, the main time when this becomes an issue is if you need to do something involving associating a computer with a particular AppleID. Careful management of your collection should minimize this situation.

So the first account is really "yours" and you are setting her up with her own account? It helps to know this because if both are "hers" then there isn't an issue with her having full access to both accounts. If in 10 years she moves 2000 miles away and she is pretty much independent then you may not want her to have full access to your AppleID just so she can authorize a device. -

I have iphone4, recently changed my phone number. Prior to the change all of my outgoing sms showed my name and phone number. Since I changed the number have not been able to show the new number on outgoing texts. So I don't understand why my number showed before but unable to add it now.....?
I lost a lot of data when I changed the number so I performed a back-up restore, which restored the data I lost. But now my text messages are showing my old phone number.....!!
Any idea how I can change so the new number is displayed?
I use texting a lot more than I do email with my phone. -
How do I set up my old G3 PBs and a Sawtooth?
My Wallstreet 233 had sat on my shelf for the last 5 years after I had thought that the Power Manager had burned due to a faulty adapter output. I recently got an old 266 which had an original apple mains adapter, and lo and behold the old PB came alive. After 5 years gathering dust, I've now 2 working Wallstreets with one working ac adapter and, after a quick battery reset, 2 batteries with 3 hours charge each.
Then, a week later I was given a 500mhz Sawtooth. So now I have 2PBs and a PMac.
I've got them up and running on 10.2.8
What will the best way of setting up these at home? I want to use the 266PB for internet (browsing, blogging, skype, itunes and limewire), I'm happy to use PB233 for ms office and as disk backup that may boot up other PB. I want to update PMac for video editing, graphics and playing movies. I have Maxtor to backup PMac.
Can I boot up one pb using another pb's hdd? Is SCSI the only way to do this?
I also want to network all these machines, preferably wlan. What's simplest way of doing this?
BTW I have a LaCie USB2/FW Combo PC card which has a 12V power socket, sadly I don't have power switcher. There's no record of it on LaCie's site and it's CD only mentions Orange Micro which has proved futile. When inserted into PC Card slot it appears on menu bar - "vendor unknown" and "host controller" greyed out and eject disk in bold. When I connect disgo usb it flashes but doesn't mount. I've checked on disk utility and it shows disk not mounted, but apple profiler doesn't show anything different. Is this correct?

USB 2.0 Hi-Speed products that use an NEC chipset have 3 USB host controller engines on

Confirm proper installation of USB 2.0 Hi-Speed driver:

Open the Apple System Profiler located in the Mac OS X /Applications/Utilities folder. Then click
on the “Devices and Volumes” tab.
In the example below slot B1 contains two “pci12ee, 7000” entries and one “pci12ee, 7001” entry.
The “pci12ee, 7000” represents the two NEC PCI to USB Open Host Controllers and the
“pci12ee, 7001” represents the one NEC PCI to USB Enhanced Host Controller.
If all three appear, the USB 2.0 Host Controller has been detected.

Now it is probably clear that LaCie pc card is NEC chipset based on clone of orangemicro. Now I have googled the OMI_EHCI driver and found that it is fine up to and including 10.2.6 but 10.2.8 may behave strangely. I guess it must not be liked by native apple usb driver.

How do you set the default magnification for Acrobat. All documents that I open enlarge to 174% and are too big. I see how to change the size after the document is open by going to File/properties/initial view and saving this setting. I want all documents to open at 100% when they are first opened. Can I set this as a default view?

You might go to Edit> Preferences> Zoom
Do this without opening any particular PDF so that it applies to the program itself and not just one document.

Thanks in advance !If you want to change the size of the font of a TextEdit text document, you do it in the preferences. Alternatively, if you want control over the size of the fonts, make it a Rich Text document, and then you can change the font size. You can either use the Larger or Smaller options, or Show Fonts to choose a size. You can elect to have new documents be Rich Text in the preferences as well.

So, do you mean account or library? You can set up a new iTunes account but all your purchases made in that account will remain in the old account and cannot be moved. You can set up a new library by starting iTunes and immediately hold down the option key. -
How do you share thousands of pictures with text and captions outside of PSE? (PSE 4)
One of my dad’s retirement passions is family genealogy and old family pictures. Several years ago I gave my family PSE 4.0 for Christmas so that we could each have backup copies of our dad’s pictures. Usually once per year, I made backup copies of everything and emailed the DVDs to my brothers and sisters. Everyone knows the basic PSE 4 functions and share our dad's enjoyment with the old family photos.
My problem is that my dad is running out of pictures to scan. He wants to “share” or “show” his photos with others so that he can “borrow” their photo albums in order to scan their photos. He plans to attend a hometown high school reunion later this fall. He hopes to "collect" photo albums from cousins and classmates. I have been struggling with this for several days without any good ideas.
The scanned pictures lack any text (added as a layer?) or captions. Creating a slideshow (on my dad’s computer is slow). Also, a slideshow doesn’t let others select individual pictures to save from the slide show
He has old pictures pre-PSE 4 that allowed him to add captions directly to the picture when it was scanned. I never liked this approach as it "destroyed" the actual picture but these old pictures are more easily shared as individual pictures.
How do you share thousands of pictures with text and captions outside of PSE? Can you save or export a composite picture with all the layers?
Thanks in advance for your help and replies.I think it is one of the printer option screens that gives me the choice of tabbed 4x6. All of the choices specifiy HP or Other so I am pretty sure it is printer software that offers me this choice.
Make sure your image has a 4x6 aspect ratio. I have been quite happy with the tabbed 4x6. Just need to remember to load the paper with the tab last.
So, in elements you set to 4x6, in printer options you should be able to choose 4x6 tabbed paper.
