How do I set up my Itouch 4gen to send/receive TISCALI emails

Please can someone help. I am flying out of the country tomorrow and bought yesterday an ipod touch 4g so that I can keep in touch re an urgent matter at home. I want to add my tiscali email account. I am entering all the details exactly onto my touch 4g as it says in properties of my outlook express tiscali account.
I am selecting the POP 3 option
Incoming
Address [email protected]
Description tiscali.co.uk
Host name pop.tiscali.co.uk
user name [email protected]
Password (I am entering the correct password)
Outgoing
Host name smtp.tiscali.co.uk
I press save then it moves to veriifying then I get an error message Cannot connect using SSL. Do you want to try setting up the account without SSL. I am not sure what this means so I enter yes
It moves to verifying again
I then get an error message saying 'The user name or password for pop.tiscali.co.uk is incorrect. They are both correct!!!!

There is nothing to 'set up' on the phone. Contact your carrier as ckuan suggests. Your account will need to be provisioned to allow International messaging. This usually costs more money. Make sure the number you enter in messages contains the country code of the person you want to message.
If you want to send an iMessage to someone with another iOS 5 device, there is no provisioning on the account needed and no cost involved.

I am not quite sure what you mean by "my family members emails are already associated with my iTunes account" but what you need for each family member is an Apple ID. Yours would be the one for your iTunes account.
If the other members of the family already have an Apple ID you can invite them to join the family group. If not they will need to create one, using their email address. This article shows how -

Yahoo is not an ISP.
ISP's are ATT, Comcast, Verizon.
Yahoo email settings should be in the mail app when you set up an account.
Go to settings-mail.
Add account. Select yahoo as account type.

A few weeks ago I downloaded some free software from the "tucows.com" website, it appears to have permanently hijacked my web browsers (both firefox and IE) so all searches go to their "searchqu" site, and new tabs open at that site. I was unable to repair this with the addins you suggested or by editing my user preferences files, and ended up having to reinstall firefox. Hopefully I won't run into the tucows rootkit ;)

I assume that you want to keep the same Apple ID on both devices for downloads and purchases but you just want to know how you can use Messages on both devices without creating a new Apple ID.
On one of the two devices ....Settings>Messages>Send and Receive at>You can be reached by iMessage at>add another email address ... and enter another working email address. After you enter the email address and it is verified by Apple, go to the InBox of that email account, read the email from Apple and follow the instructions to complete the verification. Then go back to the settings and remove your Apple ID email address. You will now use that new email address at the contact at email address for messages on that device.
You can keep your Apple ID email address and use that one on the other device.

Try if this works for you
1. Tap Settings on Home Screen
2. Go to Mail, Contacts, Calendars
3. Tap on Fetch New Data
4. Turn "Push" to On
5. Back to Mail, Contacts, Calendars again
6. Under "Advanced", make sure that it is set to "Push" for all your mail accounts
Push means the server will literally push the mails to your iPhone whenever there is new mail. Fetch like the word says is where you have to manually update to receive new mail (what you are doing now)

You best ask the windows gallery people. Thunderbird opening more than one window is based on yhow the request is made, not on Thunderbird,
Selecting multiple files in explorer simply adds them to a mail, therefore the Windows gallery is the problem.
