  • How Do I Sign Out Of iMessage on My MacBook Pro?

I have a MacBook Pro and my dad has an iPhone. We are both connceted to the same iMessage account therefore he gets my iMessages. I made a new iTunes acount. Could anyone please tell me how to sign out of my dad's account and sign into mine... on the MacBook Pro that doesn't have iMessage in the settings. I'm not sure which update it is.
It would mean a lot, THANK YOU.

    This worked for me:
    1. Open up Messages (make it the active window)
    2. Hit command-comma (for the preferences)
    3. Navigate to the accounts tab, and select the account you want to log out.
    4. Hit the button that says Sign Out, or if you're not on the latest update of OSX, hit the big central button with account details on it.
    5. Hit the Sign Out button, then quit the program.
    Hope this helps!
the guy above said this and it worked for me!

  • How to get @ sign in MS Word/Outlook on MacBook Pro in Windows?

I've been looking everywhere I can think of for a solution to this, so any help would be hugely appreciated.
I've just converted to using Mac (finally!) with a new MacBook Pro, but still forced to use Windows XP for some tasks, and I have a really annoying problem with a keyboard shortcut.
I finally disocvered that in Windows you must use CtrlAlt2 to get the @ sign, but for some reason this works everywhere EXCEPT in Word and Outlook. This has the really annoying side effect that you can't really type in an email address in Outlook, as you're lacking the @ sign. I'm getting tired of copying and pasting via Notepad ... Does anyone have a solution to this!?
Also, what's up with the / |§ keys swapping places in Windows? Unlike the @ sign, they are actually in the same place on the keyboard, so there shouldn't be any reason to change that.
    Thanks in advance!
    Kris

    HI,
In Messages beta you had to go to Message Menu > Preferences > Accounts and Add a Second ID to the list before your could remove the first.

  • How can I see my iPhone messages on my Macbook Pro?

Hi, and thanks for any and all responses.
I just upgraded to ML 10.8.1.
One of the features I was anticipating was a sync between Messages on my iPhone (4S, 5.1.1), and MacbookPro (MBP.)
Right now, and messages coming into my iPhone are not visible in Messages on the MBP.
I have read elsewhere this is a feature of IOS 6, due in the fall.
I have read similiarly that I need to change my Messages Settings on the iPhone to Receive At, my email address. (Unacceptable.)
Checking settings I noticed something interesting.
As I first obtained an AppleID many years ago, before MobileMe, my AppleID on my MBP, (and in Messages), is [email protected], whereas my AppleID on my iPhone is [email protected]
Should this make any difference? Should I someohow change my AppleID on my MBP to .me?
Any and all help is appreciated.

    Thanks for the replies!
Ok, I want to be clear, so here is the first page in Messages Settings on the iPhone.
So I Click on "Caller ID. And the phone number is checked...
Are you saying to change the check mark to the email address?
And if so, how will that affect receiving Messages on my iPhone?
Will I still receive messages to the Phone Number?
Will I lose all the previous message threads?

  • HT5622 How Should I Sign In to Settings on My MacBook Pro?

In Settings (Macbook Pro running Mavericks 10.9.1), Apple presents me with a Dialog Box that shows my Name and asks for my Password. I enter the correct PW, but Apple won't accept it. Should I try changing pre-populated "Name" to be my Apple ID instead?

You have an account on your machine that you created when you set it up. That's the password it's asking for. The Apple ID is something you set up separately and isn't necessarily the same password.

  • HT5624 How come I can't sign into my hot mail account, and how do you sign out on the IPad Mini?

I cannot sign into my hotmail account, but my wife can sign into hers and how do I sign out.

What happens when you try? Are you going to Settings>Mail, Contacts and Calendars and trying to set up your account? What error messages are you getting?

    Welcome to the Apple community.
You can add more than one account to your iPad, but you can only have one primary account. Secondary accounts which you can add at settings> mail, contacts, calendars do not have all the features of a primary account such as photo stream.

My Main Mac and Iphone are both under my iTunes ID but my MacAir would only let me use my MobileMe ID - how can I sign out on my Air, and sign in under the iTunes ID?

You should have done it the other way arround. You should have started with signing out, before you changed your email. I would suggest to follow these steps...
    1. change your email address back to the old one
    2. delete your iCloud account from all your devices (especially turn off "Find My iPhone")
    3. change your email to your new email address aigain
    4. add your iCloud account again

  • How can i sign out from ichat ??

how can i sign out from the ichat ??

    HI,
In all versions of iChat to to the ichat Menu > Preferences > Accounts and disable the "Enable this Account" tick box on the accounts you don't want to login (or remain logged in)
Alternatively you can go to iChat Menu > Accounts any ticked items in this List are Logged in.
Selecting them will log them out.
In the Preferences > Accounts you can highlight any account in the List and use the Minus button at the bottom to delete it (accept for the Bonjour one which is permanent).
