How do I stop a URL going to InternetExplorer every time?

For some pages I have once indicated to open them in IE, but now I want to stop this feature for some of these pages. How?

Thanks for your reply, but that was not quite the problem.
I have F. as the default browser, but some pages, a time ago, did not load in F. so I indicated to open them in IE with the IE addon.
Now I want to open them in F. but they keep opening in IE.
How do I undo the IE detour?

  • How do I stop the "other" data from growing every time I sync my iPhone?

I recently started putting music on my iPhone 4s, and I found that every time I sync music, the "other" storage keeps growing. This only happens when I sync music. If I don't have music on my iPhone, the "other" doesn't grow. Why is this?? Does anyone know how to make this stop? I had to restore my phone as new to delete the "other" storage (I had almost 3 G on my 8 G iPhone). Because the "other" data takes up so much room, I find it difficult to add everything that I want to on my iPhone (like all of my music). Please help!

    Hello brownielox,
Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.
For more information, take a look at:
iPhone, iPad, and iPod: Understanding capacity
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1867
Other: Everything else, such as contacts, calendars, messages, emails and their attachments, Safari Offline Reading List, settings, and other system resources.
iOS: "Not enough free space" alert when trying to sync
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ts1503
    Resolution
Try disconnecting and reconnecting your device, then syncing again to solve this issue.
Orphaned files may remain on your iOS device if it is physically disconnected while syncing music, podcasts, videos, or photos. This can prevent iTunes from syncing the iOS device on subsequent sync sessions. When this happens, the Capacity indicator in iTunes may report a large amount of "Other" disk usage for the iOS device. To resolve this issue:
Turn off the music or photo sync option in iTunes for the device.
Click Apply to sync the changes to the device.
Turn the music and photo sync options for the device on again.
Click Apply again to try to sync the device to iTunes.
If the 'Not enough free space' alert appears, continue to step 5.
Turn off the automatic syncing functions for the iOS device. To do this:
Select the iOS device from the iTunes window and click the Summary tab.
Deselect "Automatically sync when this device is connected" and select the "Sync only checked songs and videos" checkbox.
Click Apply to sync the changes to the device.
Reduce the amount of data that is being synced to the device and resync the device. For example, if syncing your Music library exceeds the memory capacity of the device, choose "Selected playlists" to transfer rather than "All songs and playlists" under the Music tab in iTunes.
If the 'Not enough free space' alert appears, continue to step 6.
    Restore using iTunes.
    Have a nice day,
    Mario

The topic says it all. Each time I down load an App I get a notifcation to my iphone telling me to turn on automatic syncing. I want it to stop. How do I stop it.

On the device that you don't want the apps to be downloaded on, go to Settings > iTunes & App Stores > Automatic Downloads. Once you turn that off, your problem will be fixed.

  • How do I stop Google Account login from opening every time I open a new window?

Upon start up of Fire Fox or any time I click a link to open a new window or if I am in an application that opens a new window, the Google Account login screen keeps opening in a new tab. How do i stop this?

    Hello,
This thread is currently unresolved but addresses an identical issue:
    * https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1030143
Thank you for using the Troubleshooter extension. Can you try disabling ''FromDocToPDF'', and restarting Firefox to see if that solves it? If it does not, try disabling ''Apollo Sync for Firefox''. Please let us know if one of these extensions is causing the problem so that users experiencing the same issue can quickly resolve theirs.
EDIT: Looking into ''Apollo Sync'', it seems to use Google Drive so is likely your culprit. You can try disabling this extension, or maintain your cookies for this site so that it keeps you signed in and hopefully then it will stop loading the page.

  • How do I stop iTunes making me sign in every time?

    Hi there,
I am having a very annoying problem with iTunes in that every time I open it, it makes me sign in at least three times sometimes more!  No matter how many times I try signing in or clicking cancel, every time I open iTunes it is the same!  Below is a link to a video demonstrating what happens! I opened up my setting so you can see which settings I have on iTunes and also at the end of the video I open up the about so you can see which version of iTunes I am running. This problem has been going on for a few months now and it killing me!  I've searched forums and none of the solutions suggested seem to work for me! Any help would be greatly appreciated as it is really annoying now!

  • How can I stop Acrobat Reader from popping up every time I close Firefox?

Every time I close Firefox, after my browser window closes, Acrobat Reader pops up. Is there a way to stop this from happening. I already went into the "Add-Ons" and disabled it, but it continues to occur.

It doesn't :-) I was desperate, there is nowhere on the Internet giving the information on how to block pop-ups on just IE (not all of Microsoft) But thank you anyway. :-) FYI I installed IE 9 then deleted IE all together.

hello, can you try to replicate this behaviour when you launch firefox in safe mode once? if not, then an addon (like noscript or autofill) is causing this - you'll have to change that in the extension's preferences...

  • How do I stop the side toolbar from appearing every time I open a pdf in Acrobat DC?

Right side tool bar is annoying in Acrobat DC . How can this be fixed?

    Hi, VP JonRerera.
    1. This is a very ugly design -- I understand Adobe wants users to pay money for those functions, but make it occupy users' precious screen space by default is a very awkward way.
    2. Acrobat DC does not really "remember" the last state!! Every time, when we open a pdf file, the tool pane will be on the right. You are wrong with your product !
    3. As an computer software engineer, I do not think fixing this one takes ~3 months. It only need to switch the default mode, unless Adobe is unwilling to do it.
    4. People have figured out how to solve the problem (smarter than Adobe engineer??)
    Solution by tmmcentyre
Go to the install directory, i.e." C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Acrobat Reader DC\Reader\AcroApp\ENU". Create a new subfolder (I used "Disabled"). Move 3 files from the "ENU" folder into the new "Disabled" folder: AppCenter_R.aapp & Home.aapp & Viewer.aapp. Open a PDF and no more Tool Pane!  I originally moved just the "Viewer" file but if you clicked on "Home" or "Tools" on the toolbar you couldn't go back to the "Document." Moving all 3 files takes care of that issue. Like a lot of people I don't and won't ever use any of the tools. I just want a reader. Let me know if this works for you.
The new "right hand toolbar" in Acrobat DC is always on by default, proving instant access to frequently used tools. That said, we're definitely hearing a # of customers that want Acrobat DC to "remember" the last state. So if you close it, it'll remain closed when you open it next.   Looking to have a fix in place in next ~3 months here.

Thanks for repling '''TheOldFox'''. ...''"A database of malware and phishing sites known to Google is maintained in your Profile folder. "''...
I did deselect and disable those phishing and malware updates to see if they were the issue. I was trying to experiment, if it would still call back to Google.
Apparently Google is trying to maintain this for "web security" and developers of Firefox work together to code the browser so it checks at a pre-designated site. After one connect, the list of malicious, bad and ominous web sites are put like a data file in our profile for each browser. The browswer already has the last 20k to 30000 bad websites in it, and so there is no need go back to Google at browser-start, to check or refresh this list at each start-up (especially if the end user is only going to browse the same websites the day or hour before).
I can understand going back once a week, every three days or once a month (after the first contac), '''but at each point of start-up, it is not necessary. '''
'''Traditionally, end users are give the option to do this on their own.''' I would like this option restored if possible in Firefox browser. Why does Firefox and Google try to deprive the user of this choice? I makes it run like spyware runs, by causing users to go and report to Google, each time they start their profile/web-browser.
I have always thought, programs that did this without announcement, or giving users a choice (even under a banner like "national security," or "for your own good"), were just as capable of giving a false information to get the users to not care if they are being spied on.
TheOldFox, I have read your reply and do not wish to be disrespectful, but you are almost like that happy insurance salesman who is trying to warn of a flood, even 8000 feet above sea level: When talking with the majority of people, 92 out of a 100 might live at sea level or in flat valleys under a mountain run off; a big storm drops a lot of water and all the creeks rise out of their beds; widdening the rivers soon thereafter. But for the person living above 8000 feet, that water is usually rushing down so fast that it channels and carries itself away quickly. [[(They have no need for flood insurance and to pay that extra for prevention, because their house is built on a big rock. But the salesman cannot see that when talking to a large group, and always has to try to sell the flood-insurance package; and it is up for the buyer to refuse to buy it.) This is to say, you may be a good salesman but I know how to express no, in a nice and polite way.:D]]
'''It is a type of spying on users of the web-browswer, because it does not give the user a choice and does not announce what it is doing.''' Nor does it explain what it is doing (in user docs) after you disable those options even as an experiment, and it is still "phoning home" ...
So why does it still do this, to Google? Why does it not go back to firefox or mozilla?
I am guessing, it has something to do with monitoriing what each user is using in the way of add-ons, so that developers can keep tabs on how popular an add-on is.
My questions is still open. I want to learn how to stop this from occuring ('''at each and every start up'''). Please help.
    {{{TheOldFox, I will read those links and see if that helps and post back here later. For now question is still open. Thank you. }}}

  • How do I stop Firefox from automatically signing in every time I restart

About a week ago, Firefox started automatically signing in whenever I have restarted or shutdown and then turned laptop back on again.
After the usual icons and stuff has reappeared on desktop, suddenly Firefox starts opening/signing in, without my asking it to open a window and sign in.
This is occurring whether I've checked to "save and restore at start-up" or to "save and quit".
Sometimes I want to do other work prior to signing into Firefox again.
I have repeatedly reviewed Tools/Options in search of a setting to adjust. From researching this problem on the web, the only direction I found was to UNcheck "Accept Third Party Cookies" from Privacy settings.
I tried this, to no avail.
I don't know where else to look for whatever setting I need to adjust to have things the way they always were before -- namely, to sign in when I would click on Firefox icon, and it would then open up Firefox to either homepage or to restoring the tabs that I last had open.

  • How do I stop one extra tab from opening every time I start Firefox?

Every time I open Firefox, my Yahoo homepage opens, but an additional page also opens which has a variety of website thumbnails and nothing else on that page.
In my Options, I have ONLY www.yahoo.com selected as my homepage, so only ONE page should be opening every time I start Firefox.
However, no matter what I do, this second page continues to open every time. It's very irritating, as half the time I've already begun to enter data into my homepage, then the second page pops up and switches to that and I'm typing on that page.
    Please advise.

    @jscher2000
Thank you!! That fixed the problem. The only add-ons I have are for my anti-virus software WebRoot, but somehow I must have installed Speed Dial without realizing it.
That fixed the problem. Greatly appreciated!!
