How do I tak out the ink cartridge on HP Officejet Pro 8600?

Need to remove my ink cartridge to buy a set backup. How do you remove the old cartridge?

The HP Office Pro 8600 series consists of 3 model variations. I have the Plus version. All functions similiar.
With the power 'ON', grip the side of the front panel (left handed) just below the HP logo. The entire panel will swing down. The ink cartridge bay will move from the right to the left. Push on the cartridge, and it will pop-out.
Manual, see pg 13 and 92. WARNING per HP: Never turn off the printer when ink cartridges are missing.

I then inserted it slowly into the drive notch down and slowly pulled out. I did this few times and caught the mimi-cd and removed it. The drive has worked flawlessly for several years
A few days after this happened I was in BestBuy and an Apple rep was there displaying new Apple products. I asked him about it and he said they have a tool that ***** it out.

Thanks for the clarification. That "pinch" action is not configurable. It's hardwired into the trackpad function specific to the application you are using.

How to remove cartridges from dead Officejet Pro 8600

I am waiting for the replacement arrives and wanted to get the cartridges out of the printer that got zapped by lightning. Since the printer is dead, the cartridge carriage does not move into place to reach to remove the cartridges and I can't manually budge it. I just replaced a couple of the cartridges and will need them when the new printer arrives. Any suggestions?

I read your post about your printer being dead and you're waiting on a replacement. I saw your concern about getting the ink cartridges out however, the carriage is not budging at all.
I would personally suggest bringing this up in a conversation with HP to see if there is anything they could do for the cartridges you are unable to retrieve.

How can I get the printer year for the HP OfficeJet Pro 8600 Plus? I have looked in printer staus report and the various labels I can find on the printer itself. I'm sure I'm just missing it.I bought it new, so I do not have any reason to think the information was removed prior to purchase. Thanks

The printer status report has in line 47 the date (rounded to the week) the printhead was installed. Except in the rare case the printhead has been replaced this would correspond to the date the printer was installed.
