How do I transfer iPhoto slideshows to a PC?

I was wondering how I would go about this. I have iPhoto (Version 2.0.1) for iPhone 5s running iOS 7.1.1.
My ultimate goal is to send this to my iMovie app (Version 2.0) to add music with precise timing, which you cannot do in iPhoto. I would then like to put the finished slideshow on Facebook. I have made the slideshow with a specific theme that I would like to keep. I can't duplicate this theme with a different program or software.
Help please. Any answers will be appreciated.

There are 9 different versions of iPhoto and they run on 9 different versions of the Operating System. The tricks and tips for dealing with issues vary depending on the version of iPhoto and the version of the OS. So to get help you need to give as much information as you can. Include things like:
- What version of iPhoto.
- What version of the Operating System.
- Details. As full a description of the problem as you can. For example, if you have a problem with exporting, then explain by describing how you are trying to export, and so on.
- History: Is this going on long? Has anything been installed or deleted? - Are there error messages?
- What steps have you tried already to solve the issue.
- Anything unusual about your set up? Or how you use iPhoto?
Anything else you can think of that might help someone understand the problem you have.

How do you burn iPhoto slideshow to DVD?  I exported to Quick Time & burned as movie but won't play on DVD player.

If you want it to play on a domestic DVD player then the disk must be created in iDVD. The format of such a disk is quite specific and iDVD is the app the makes these formats.
So, Share -> Send to iDVD

how do i transfer iPhotos onto a thumb drive using yosemite.? thank you

If you are referring to the iPhotos Library do the following:
Open Finder and navigate to where your iPhotos Library is, by default it's in the Pictures folder
Control click the iPhotos Library and select Copy
Now navigate to your thumb drive and control click, select Paste item
If you are referring to transfer the actual photos, you will need to export all of them from iPhoto to your thumb drive.

  • How to easily transfer iphoto mediathek to new mac

    Hello,
I have a simple question but have not found answers to this so far, therefore I hope you can help me.
I just have purchased an iMac. On my old Macbook I´ve all my pictures in iPhoto, with folders etc. The transfer has not succeeded so I am searching for a way on how to completely transfer the complete iPhoto pictures and folder structure of my old MacBook to my new iMac.
    Does anybody know?
Thank you so much in advance!

To move an iPhoto Library to a new machine:
Link the two Macs together: there are several ways to do this: Wireless Network, Firewire Target Disk Mode, Ethernet, or even just copy the Library to an external HD and then on to the new machine...
But however you do choose to link the two machines...
Simply copy the iPhoto Library from the Pictures Folder on the old Machine to the Pictures Folder on the new Machine.
    Then launch iPhoto. That's it.
This moves photos, events, albums, books, keywords, slideshows and everything else.

  • How can I transfer iPhoto files from one admin user to another on the same Mac?

i created a new admin user on my computer, so now my husband has one and so do i. how can i transfer our iphoto files from his admin user to mine as a shared file? i was able to do this with itunes easily but i am not able to do it with iphoto.

You want to share the Library?
For iPhoto 09 (version 8.0.2) and later:
    What you mean by 'share'.
If you want the other user to be able to see the pics, but not add to, change or alter your library, then enable Sharing in your iPhoto (Preferences -> Sharing), leave iPhoto running and use Fast User Switching to open the other account. In that account, enable 'Look For Shared Libraries'. Your Library will appear in the other source pane.
Any user can drag a pic from the Shared Library to their own in the iPhoto Window.
Remember iPhoto must be running in both accounts for this to work.
If you want the other user to have the same access to the library as you: to be able to add, edit, organise, keyword etc.
Quit iPhoto in both accounts. Move the Library to the Users / Shared Folder
(You can also use an external HD set to ignore permissions, a Disk Image or even partition your Hard Disk.)
In each account in turn: Double click on the Library to open it. (You may be asked to repair the Library Permissions.) From that point on, this will be the default library location. Both accounts will have full access to the library, in fact, both accounts will 'own' it.
However, there is a catch with this system and it is a significant one. iPhoto is not a multi-user app., it does not have the code to negotiate two users simultaneously writing to the database, and trying will cause db corruption. So only one user at a time, and back up, back up back up.

  • How do I transfer iphoto to an external drive?

    Hi Apple support communities,
I know there are plenty of discussions out there but I am still confused.
My start up disk is almost full so I need to transfer my photos into an external drive. I copied iphoto library to my hard drive and deleted all photos in my mac air's iphoto. But when I wanted to test if the transfer was done correctly, I had to relanch iphoto on my mac air ( restoring all photos into my mac air).
So I am now worried that if I just transfer the current most updated iphoto library to my hard drive and empty my mac air's iphoto, in the future i will have new photos in my mac air, but when I want to revisit my older photos from my external hard drive I would have to relaunch the old version of iphoto which will wipe out the newer stuff. What should I do?
    Cheers

I'm not sure I understand you but this is how to move an iPhoto Library:
Make sure the drive is formatted Mac OS Extended (Journaled)
    1. Quit iPhoto
    2. Copy the iPhoto Library from your Pictures Folder to the External Disk.
    3. Hold down the option (or alt) key while launching iPhoto. From the resulting menu select 'Choose Library' and navigate to the new location. From that point on this will be the default location of your library.
    4. Test the library and when you're sure all is well, trash the one on your internal HD to free up space.
You do not have to move the images back to your computer to view them. Note step 3.

  • How do I transfer iPhoto library to an external drive?

How do I transfer my iPhoto library from my 2006 iMac to an external drive?  My iMac is having issues and I don't want to loose all my photos.
    Thanks!

Drag and drop the IPhoto Library file from your Pictures folder onto the new drive. It will copy by default. Before you delete the original, double-click the library in its new location and iPhoto will launch. Doing it this way tells iPhoto to use this library in future. Make sure it works correctly (and that you have a backup elsewhere, of course) before deleting the original.

How do I transfer my iphoto library to an external hard drive. Dragging it does not seem to work.

Erasing the drive won't affect the content of the iPhoto library. If you don't want to reformat that drive, buy another.
Even if you do install software which enables the Mac to write to NTFS drives, the volume containing an iPhoto library needs to be formatted as Mac OS Extended.

  • New imac. can't figure out how to burn a iphoto slideshow or imovie to a dvd

i have a brand new imac.  i have created a iphoto slideshow with music, etc,  how can i burn it to a dvd to show it to a group? I am making a season ending dvd slideshow for a soccer team and need to be able to butn the iphoto slideshow to a dvd to give to 20 parents to take home and watch on their television (or at least on their pc)
help!  i can't figure this out at all.
i own an extgernal apple superdrive dvd burner.

You will need to obtain a copy of iDVD 7 by purchasing a copy of the iLife 09 disk from a 3rd party retailer like Amazon.com or eBay.com.  Why the iLife 09 disk?
If you have to purchase an iLife disc in order to obtain the iDVD application remember that the iLife 11 disc only provides  themes from iDVD 5-7.  The Software Update no longer installs the earlier themes when starting from the iLIfe 11 disk nor do any of the iDVD 7 updaters available from the Apple Downloads website contain them.
Currently the only sure fire way to get all themes is to start with the iLife 09 disc:
This shows the iDVD contents in the iLife 09 disc via Pacifist:
You then can upgrade from iDVD 7.0.3 to iDVD 7.1.2 via the updaters at the Apple Downloads webpage.
Once you have iDVD on your iMac working export the iPhoto slideshow via the Export button at the bottom of the slideshow window and select Size = Medium or Large:
Open iDVD, select a theme and drag the exported slideshow movie file into the menu window being careful to avoid any drop zones.
Follow this workflow to help ensure the best quality video DVD:
Once you have the project as you want it save it as a disk image via the  File ➙ Save as Disk Image  menu option.  This will separate the encoding process from the burn process.
To check the encoding mount the disk image and launch DVD Player and play it.  If it plays OK with DVD Player the encoding was good.
Then burn to disk with Disk Utility or Toast at the slowest speed available (2x-4x) to assure the best burn quality.  Always use top quality media:  Verbatim, Maxell or Taiyo Yuden DVD-R are the most recommended in these forums.
