How do I transfer music from my iPod to my macbook pro

I just upgraded my macbook pro and I need to transfer my itunes from my old macbook pro to my new macbook pro. Can someone help me transfer my music from one computer to another?

From your OLD computer...
Copy your ENTIRE iTunes FOLDER to an External Drive... and then from the External Drive to your New Computer..

Hi my computer was recently stolen and now I am trying to transfer the music & photos from my iphone to the new itunes music library and the photos which I had synced from my mac to my phone, back onto the mac. So far I have only been able to transfer the items purchased from itunes. How do I transfer the songs that I had previously had in my library?

The iphone is not a backup device.
The music sync is one way - computer to iphone.  the only exception is itunes purchases.
If your backup copy of your comptuer was not stolen, then use it to put evefrything back.
Otherwise, you may be able to buy software to move the music.

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
There is more than one way, but to get it all on all devices, connect the first device to iTunes and choose to transfer the music from the device from the file menu. Once everything is in iTunes connect the second device, select the device in the device list, navigate to the music tab and check the content you wish to sync, click apply/sync.

You need to copy everything from your old computer, or your backup copy of your old computer, to your new one.

  • How do I transfer music from my iPod to my computer which was not purchased on iTunes?

I just downloaded iTunes Match to my MacBook Air. Now, how do I transfer music from my iPod to my Mac which I did not purchase on iTunes? When I downloaded iTunes Match, it did its thing, but none of the music that I burned from CDs showed up on my Mac. Is there something else I should do? (I still have my old computer with my entire iTunes library on it, but I haven't used in in a while. Should I do something with that, as well?)
    Thanks!

    1) I did indeed specify what model my iPod is, as you can plainly see. I even specified which iOS I’m operating on.
True. My mistake. I didn't see it.

Also, true. In my haste I forget to put in the links that might have helped. Nobody is perfect:

I'm actually currently serving in the Peace Corps in the Eastern European country of the Republic of Georgia, so I'm not always able to get back to posts as quickly as I would like. So I'm glad you were able to get it sorted out by searching the support communities. But as I tell my students (who are learning English as a second language) pronouncing and using words correctly is important to them being understood by native English speakers. The same goes for technology terms. If the correct terms aren't used (for example "import" and "rip") then misunderstandings can occur and it can take longer to get your problem solved.

You can't do that with iTunes (except for songs you purchased from the iTunes Store).  However, there are third-party methods and utilities that can transfer songs files from iPod to computer.  If you do a Google search on something like "ipod transfer," you should get some links.
Once the songs files are on your computer, add them to your iTunes library.  Then, you can sync your iPod to that iTunes library, as desired.

You need to copy everything back using your backup copy.

How can I transfer music from my iPod Classic to my current MacPro laptop? I thought I could "Match" them but from what I am reading in this process it seems to want to delete the music in my  iPod during the process and then upload music from my MacPro library...

You can use a third-party utility such as iExplorer - iPhone, iPad Music & File Transfer App for Mac & PC. If the music was purchased from the iTunes Store you can also re-download it: Download past purchases. Also, see iTunes Store- Transferring purchases from your iOS device or iPod to a computer.
