How do I transfer photos from my iPad to my MacBook pro?

I have been using my iPad 2 to save the photos that I have been taking while on vacation.  When I return home, I would like to transfer them to my MacBook Pro so that I can clean them up and edit them with iPhoto.  I have several hundred photos and do not wish to risk losing them through an error on my part.  I am assuming that it is an easy process, but I have not yet figured it out.  Any suggestions?
Thanks

is there not a application that will allow me to simply upload the images to the harddrive direct?
using just the ipad and the harddrive - the reason being i travel a lot as a photographer and am trying reduce the weight and a ipad- blue tooth hardrive seems to be the best option if i can transfer between the two?
any ideas
thanks

when you connect your ipad to your computer you should get prompted by iphoto to import all of your photos from your ipad into your computer.
    hope this helps

How do I transfer photos from my ipad 2 to my imac?

this should help, use photo stream to do this
After your devices are using the appropriate software and you have set up your iCloud account, it’s easy to turn on Shared Photo Streams on any of your devices:
iOS devices: Go to Settings > iCloud > Photo Stream, then turn on Shared Photo Streams.
Mac: Go to System Preferences > iCloud, then select the checkbox for Photo Stream. Click the Options button to verify that the Shared Photo Streams checkbox is selected. Open the application you want to use with Photo Stream (iPhoto or Aperture) and confirm that Shared Photo Streams is turned on in that application. You can also adjust your Photo Stream settings in iPhoto or Aperture Preferences.
PC: Open the iCloud Control Panel for Windows and select the checkbox for Photo Stream. You can click the Options button to verify that Shared Photo Streams is enabled and adjust the settings. Be sure to click Apply when done.

How do I transfer photos from my iPad 3 to my computer so I can make a CD?

To copy photos to you computer that were taken with the iPad, copied to it via the camera connection kit, or saved from emails/websites then see this page.
To copy photos that were originally synced from a computer you will need a third-party app such as Simple Transfer which can copy them off via your wifi network. But as photos are 'optimised' when they are synced to the iPad, any that you then copy back to a computer may not be exactly the same as they originally were on your computer.

How do i Transfer photos from my ipad to SD Card using the Ipad photo kit

I don't think you can directly transfer pictures from your iPad to an SD card using the photo kit.  If you have Windows PC  (with USB port), connect it to you iPad using the Apple Dock Connector to USB Cable. After connecting, open Windows Explorer on your PC and you'll notice that one of the icons is your iPad (as an external drive).  Click on the iPad icon, then Internal Storage, then DCIM. Once you open the DCIM folder, youll see a bunch of folders in it (just like the one below) - that's were your pictures are stored. You can copy and paste these folders (or the files inside them) to you PC or if your PC has an SD Card slot (with card in it), you can copy them there as well.

  • Question: How do I sync contacts from my iPad to my MacBook Pro running Mavericks?

How do I sync contacts from my iPad to my MacBook Pro running Mavericks?
    rbarge

    Contacts sync via iCloud.
Set up iCloud on your iPad and your MBP, with the same iCloud account on both, with the same Apple ID.
On the Mac you set this up with System Preferences > iCloud, and have Contacts checked in the box on the right.
It looks very much the same on the iPad, Settings > iCloud.
If you have set this up and it's still not working, then sign out of and then back into your iCloud accounts.
