I agree for the most part if your system is fairly isolated then this is not much of an issue, but there is the rare possibility of malware or simple user mistakes that a good password helps guard against.

How do i turn off password manager on firefox 18, the option box is ticked but shaded so i can't untick it

I am prompted every time i visit a site that i enter a password on to save it in firefox 18, it's now getting annoying. I have tried to turn it off, but the box in firefox settings is shaded and won't allow me to turn password manager off, i know i can choose "never for this site" in the settings but with just about every site you go to now requires you to sign in it is really getting on my nerves. if this can't be resolved i may reluctantly have to change browser.

I'm a little frustrated - there are periods of time when i'm not logging into my formcentral account, and, when I go to log in with the correct credentials, Adobe is doing me the "service" of resetting my password for me. Which is great, except, it's forcing me to come up with a unique password. As "Trampsteamer" notes the recent change was necessary due to a security breach and was the only time in the past few years we've forced users to change their AdobeID password.
This isn't something we do often and this was the only time I can recall.
There is no way to control this on your end.

How do I turn off password at login?

I'm using OS X Mavericks 10.9
Every time my machine goes to sleep, upon waking it prompts me for a password. I have selected in System Preference / Security & Privacy that it should ask my for my password after 1 hour. It doesn't wait 1 one hour. And I don't see any checkbox (which I'm assuming has been removed in OS X 10.9) to not require any password at all.
Any tips / help would be much appreciated.

The only way to turn off the password completely is to create a new user account for the technician without any password. Open System Preferences > Users & Groups, press the + button and create a user account. However, I do not recommend you to do this.
